Hello! Hot 'nuff for ya? It's scorching hot outside. Please pass the tea.
About a week ago I went to my Thyroid Appointment that I had waited for four months in which they lost my blood work that was going to tell me how my tumor marker was doing. Blood was drawn again and I'm waiting for the results. I will be calling them on Tuesday, if they don't contact before then.
That evening my left eye started to ache and turn red. REALLY RED. I thought I had PINK EYE. I'd learn on Monday that my General Doctor didn't think it was PINK EYE. Something else that I cannot pronounce. Eye drops.
Anywhoo...I didn't take any chances when preparing my PRIZE WINNING MEATLOAF. Hubby was so sweet to be my hands. He digged right in and offered to mix the secrets into the meatloaf as I told him what to put into the bowl and how to mix it. The glaze got darker than I liked...better luck next time.
The Paxico Meatloaf Festival was on Saturday AND the Gillie Gals WON first Place!!! This was so exciting for me as I was in need of some good news!!! Blue Ribbon came home with us and I had a sensation of satisfaction. This was our third year to enter and Three Times Is A Charm. I'll share the recipe later.
Monday, took Lil Miss to see a movie at the Library. She seemed to like it.
Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa. 83 minute animation. Comedy.
Saw the Doctor. When I went to get my medicine at the Pharmacy they were out, sooooo I went across Manhattan to the other location. My medicine was a whopping $2.50. I said, "THANK YOU, LORD." The doctor's office mailed me a copy of my office visit statement...$78.00.
I paid the co-pay when I was there, but still $78.00 for a 5 minute visit with the doctor.....well, what 'cha gonna do when there's no free clinics to see ya?
Wamego does have a Medical clinic for those who have no insurance or under insured. What a blessing to have. About $5 for a visit. Hum. I'm donating children's clothing to this ministry. When the stores have sales like a really cute outfit for a dollar I'm buying several and giving them to this Wamego Ministry.
Next day, we went to Summer Story Time and took Hubby out for Lunch, Paid some bills and played at the Library Scavenger Hunt they have for the Kids Reading Program over at Wamego. Getting in and out of the car at the different locations was a work out. Good for my ole body. Good exercise for a 55 year old. I have to put lil Miss in a car seat and strap her in. It is a work out. I can breathe so much better and my stomach muscles are so much firmer....haha.

On the serious note. My Brother-In-Law had major eye surgery. Thank you for your sincere prayers. At this time I would like to RANT a BIT. He had his eye removed from his body. Removed by a Surgeon in the early morning. That afternoon, he was let out to go home. HOME. I was stunned that the Doctor allowed his patient to leave the Hospital before 24 hours was up.
I think this is BARBARIC.
When our dog had surgery, she was kept several days. Our dog. SEVERAL DAYS.
A Human Being has major eye surgery...and released the same day. Not impressed.

(TAKE A DEEP BREATH)
As I continued to BLOG this week, I got into a debate. I love God and I am thankful He hears my prayers. Part of the maturing process of being a Christian is to Pray for our Country and our Politicians and our Citizens. I'M PRAYING FOR REVIVAL. Have you ever grieved about the decline of moral values in our country? I remember going to a Ladies meeting about 20 years ago and the speaker prayed with passionate sobs and groans about the moral decline of our country asking God to forgive us.
AT THE TIME I looked at her like she had two heads.
She wept.
Last night... I wept.

I'm still cleaning the Powder Room, washing the sheets. Day dreaming about how to decorate my haven. The week is getting away from me and I am so happy to be alive! Our Coffee Maker DIED. We're using a Coffee Pot that PERKS the old fashioned way. She pours really nice and clean. This week I used real cream in my coffee instead of Half & Half. Tell you why...had some on hand because I used real cream in my Meatloaf. Mums the word!
Hoping that this week-end we will locate where our decorative Flags are. Hiding. Can't find them and I'd like to decorate the new porch. Lord help.
