Jibber Jabber and Call It Good

~HELLO IN BLOGLAND~

CHEERING MYSELF ON...the laundry is just about caught up.  You go girl.  I am my own cheerleader.   I have visions of it all done and moving right along to my next project: YARD WORK before the month of May is here.  

Stay focused.

1) laundry caught up.
2) yard work finished to welcome May.
3) rummage sale items located to Dining room.
4) cellar items located to various places in house or rummage pile.
5) curtains hung in bump out.
6) curtains hung in family room.
7) continue to tidy and get uncluttered.
8) it's ongoing.

It doesn't take much to make me huff and puff.  Going up and down the stairs has its benefits. 

Our little cellar is full of this and that.  Slowly we are bringing items up to deal with.  Found two beautiful Japanese decorative porcelain dishes still in their cardboard boxes.  Not sure I can let these go.

We went through a laundry basket full of items already marked for a rummage sale.  Will lower the prices and try again. Three plastic bags full of good 'ole fingernail polish ready to beautify the finger tips of someone.  A very nice silver candle holder.  Shoes.  A lovely crystal kleenex cover, umbrella, fake fruit and odds 'n ins.  More. to. go.

IT'S GETTING EASIER AND EASIER TO BE UNCLUTTERED.

YES IT IS.  YES IT IS.  YES IT IS.  YES IT IS.  YES IT IS.  YES IT IS.

Today on this sun shinny day I sat in the Parlour sipping coffee while letting fresh air blow into the room as a window was open.  

I decorate in my head when looking around.  

Got to do this and do that.

Cheapest entertainment I know of.

Mental decorating.

After picking Lil Miss up from school yesterday, 

we drove around to look at the out of doors admiring SPRING TIME in small town America.

LAST WEEK I went to see my Sister that lives in Iowa.  I cannot believe I did not take one photo.  Headed out on Saint Patrick's Day and returned to Kansas on the first day of SPRING. Very nice time.
  

Donna Reed lived in Denison, Iowa.  Remember Mrs. Stone?  

DO you suppose Donna ever did laundry?  

Surely.

SIS and I went to RAGS 2 RICHES thrift shop in Carroll, Iowa.  LOVE going to this place.  Nice vintage items plus new.  I purchased a LONGABERGER magazine basket with cloth liner and plastic protector for $28.  Hurrah. I scored.

We ate well, drove around Yellow Smoke Park to see deers grazing in the fields and geese running to get into the water before Lil Miss could reach them.  Nature.  It was snowing large flakes pleasantly in Iowa.

Was glad to see my Sis and glad to return safely HOME.  
I took Lil Miss with me as she was on SPRING BREAK. 

While gone, husband worked on ze kitchen.  Inching right along.  Making headway.  He moved a light switch, repaired the wall and added crown molding above some of the cabinets by the kitchen sink.  Added lighting under the cabinet and above the sink.  Makes the tile back splash look stunning.  Taking a deep breath.  Soon the cabinets will have doors on them.  A new ceiling will appear.  When completed...will be a huge relief.  Let it happen.    

SWEET SPRING  is here.

Slow Paced Spring Break

SPRING BREAK IS TAKING PLACE.  It's relaxing to hear the winds blowing.  Today the weather was milder and I didn't have to wear a coat!  Just my old purple sweater that I have had for OVER TWENTY YEARS.  As the evening is coming to an end, I sit at the new table that's in our family room.  The table is new to me, but actually it's a very old table we bought a while back at a thrift shop.  She has Queen Ann legs and I will show a pic of her after my dear hubby helps me download pics. 

I am without my camera chip that has the pics that I would normally use.  The Family room was rearranged to fit two love seats and two ottomans that were a welcomed addition to our home.  They were such a great price, it was easy to say let's buy them.  The green sofa and chairs were worn way down and when sitting in the seats, one sunk to a really uncomfortable place.  I had been using two pillows plopped on top of the cushions to add some comfort for my ole big body.

We've had them going on 7 years this summer.  I knew we were in for a long haul after we purchased this assemble.  Three months after buying them the arms of the chairs started to collapse and the cushions took on a different shape. 

I was hoping we could make them last for ten years, but then these brown love seats appeared with two matching ottomans that we changed out the Family room.

Now I am typing on a keyboard that sits on the table and I look at a monitor.  The phone and a lamp are on the table and I feel like I am in a real office area for a change.  As much as I was on a laptop computer being on my lap, I had my concerns about the radiation exposure to my stomach.  Yes, computers put off a small amount of radiation and I don't think it's safe to have the laptops on our laps for hours and hours on end.  Yes, I am old fashioned, but that's the way I am.

KITCHEN UPDATE:
Hubby has made progress on the Kitchen drawers.  He built 4 of them and installed them, primed and painted, attached the handles.  Again I will show pics later.  I LOVE the look of them as we inch our way to having a completed KITCHEN.  This puppy will be well loved when she is completed!!!  Last year I was talking about cooking an EASTER HAM in my completed Kitchen.  I guess I should have said which EASTER.  Grins.  Now I have hopes of the KITCHEN being completed when it's completed. 

Ever get discouraged?  I do.  I do.  I do.  I do....then I have to exercise my soul with words of encouragement.

SPRING BREAK AT HOME HAVEN:
We slept in this morning and had a very slow paced day.  I needed the rest after driving 6 hours on Sunday against the wind with snow flurries alone behind the wheel.  I had been in St. Louis visiting my newly divorced son.  I did get to visit my 4 year old Grandson for a few hours.  Nice to see this precious child. 

As I return to the norm around HOME HAVEN...LIFE ON THE PRAIRIE was comfortable not going anywhere very fast.  Lil Miss and I went to the Post Office for stamps and pick up mail then to the Convenience Store for a diet soda.  The day was easy does it.  Hardly any traffic.  No rushing.  Going nowhere special this week except maybe to the grocery store.  Almost Wednesday.  Going to soak in the tub and go ahhhhh.

Today I walked by the front lawn flowerbed and stood amazed at the green popping through the ground.  While I was out of town my dear Daughter cleaned out the flowerbed along the wood fence.  She's a sweetheart.  I did notice that the fence is starting to do a curling number like the back gate did a few years ago.  I think it will need replaced....and I had better go price the slates to see what they are priced at these days.  We  have been here for seven years.  This will be our eighth spring here.  I am at the age that I want to stop and smell the roses, stare out at the sky and watch the birds fly by while I sip perked coffee.

Since we have lived here four Grandchildren have been born, a Daughter and a Son have gone through difficult divorces, I have had Thyroid Cancer and so has my Husband.  I have won a Meatloaf Contest and so has my dear Hubby.  I sang with a group of Ladies and we were recorded for a CD that celebrated the Kansas Flint Hills.  I've gained unwanted weight, thinned down the closets, purchased thrift items like they are going out of style.  Hauled items to the ministries as I continue down sizing and lost three Airedale Pets.  Experienced a Spouse getting bit by a bat and go through the shots in the top of his head.  Realized that hubby is diabetic and I am a romantic.  HOT FLASHES are a headache.  Continue to think about the books I will write and started BLOGGING.  Getting older and older.  Seeing things differently than I did as a young woman.  Seeing HOME Projects slowly come to pass.  Praise God, they are taking place.   

Before I close this post....I want to share that another sweet baby is developing in my dear daughter in law's womb.  The kids will have a baby this Summer.  Boy or girl, I don't know.....praying for a healthy one.  No hopes of having twins?   grins.  

Spring Break is taking place....sometimes I think I am the one that will break.  Need strength.  Prayers please.  And I thank you.  Paying forward.
