The upstairs bathroom sink was slow at draining so he bought a tool for pulling icky stuff from the drain. Like a charm, it worked cleaning out the drain allowing it to drain correctly. Check that off the list of things to do.
The powder room toilet fixture piping needs repaired by replacing the old one which has a trickle leak. Finding the proper piping is off the chart and out the window as they do not make this part anymore. OUTDATED. He has had to research what to do. Seems pretty common these days that things are no longer made so a substitute must be used. I think he can fix it with some help from above.
COMMENTING that we could live anywhere as AMAZON can deliver to our door what we order on line relieving the necessity of going to a brick and mortar building to physically picking up items needed to make home repairs. The day and age we live in has certainly changed. Some for the better, some for the worse.
Instead of making a short trip to the local store for something, I can use the internet and order the things needed. I still like going to the stores to look and ponder though. Which isn't all bad. Keeping up with the fast pace of how things are done isn't always welcomed. I think I need some things to stay the same.
I understand how our parents and grandparents eyeballed the changing fashions and lifestyles when my generation was younger as I find myself doing the same as I am now elderly myself. I'm having some issues with this. Without being judgmental, I do believe in some areas I cannot be anything but. So I will quietly stay HOME and focus on my own estate and what needs done to get on with LIFE. I think I will just have to admit that I am old and be contented with it.
AT THE COTTAGE: Hubby is busy working under the COTTAGE bathroom floor replacing plumbing so we can move forward to living there soon. My HANDY MAN is mighty HANDY to live with. I am not as productive as him, so it helps that we are a team. The things I can do, are necessary. We are not in competition with one another, but I seem to compare the amount of work I get done compared to what he gets done. Silly and unproductive. Praising GOD that we are on the same team with different functions. Amen. I am relieved that he can and does so much for us as a couple.
Today, I emptied out the Victorian Desk and the drawers in the entryway buffet. I will do my best to work on the GRANDS Valentines later and group together the CHRISTMAS TUBS closer to the outside basement door so they can be taken to the COTTAGE SHED this week-end. Keep moving. When this is completed, it will be another thing done that has to take place as we morph along getting into the COTTAGE. I'm so slow it hurts. Have to keep moving the best I can. Lord, have mercy.
The things I am learning in this BIG ADVENTURE are priceless. SIMPLIFYING my LIFE is taking some work. Forge ahead and be done with this entrapment. It is taking way too much energy which could be used in a better way doing something more productive.
Lord, it is in the tiny things that I stay busy. Perhaps I need to know this and admit that I don't have the best attitude about it. Carry on and learn some more.
