HAVING AN EXTREMELY RELAXING DAY. As I figure my day. I listened to CHRISTMAS MUSIC with a fireplace scene on the large screen television in my LIVING ROOM. A lovely way to relax at HOME on a Friday. I need Christmas Music. I adore it and enjoy listening to it as well as singing the tunes. A in house Tradition that lifts my spirits. This Friday, listening to music lifted my spirits and calmed my nerves.
Makes for a fab Friday for me. Sometimes, I miss holding a cup of coffee in my hands. No coffee since August 10th. Almost 4 months since I craved the java. I miss holding the mug more than the coffee. grins. I have sipped on hot tea more and drank spring water. Some Hot Cocoa.
CHRISTMAS DECORATING continues today. Making a place for the NATIVITY SCENE. This morning I cleared out a corner cabinet shelf that held my amber colored depression glass pieces with the Madrid pattern. This shelf is where I relocated the crystal vases and candlesticks that were on Grandma's Hutch. Doing the shuffle.
After I got the dishes out, I decided that I want to keep these in the Dining room and use more than I have. So the second shelf in the corner cabinet will hold these as the top shelf houses the crystal pieces. The Pineapple Floral pieces will go in the top shelf of the Kitchen cabinet. So I have yet to do that. The NATIVITY SCENE has been airing out over night. One of my favorite things to display is the NATIVITY SCENE. A joy each time. One year I left my scene in a glass curio cabinet throughout the year.
When I get the Nativity Scene out, the Dining room table will need cleared off as I have no idea where I will go with the pretties on there. Lord, please help me figure this out.
The little Dining room CHRISTMAS TREE has yet to be lit as we need an extension cord. Put that on my shopping list and will go shopping later this evening at Dollar General. A new bill book is in order for 2021. I hope the Dollar General still has these as I have used one probably 10 years now. Mercy. Times gets away from me.
I customized my GRANDS' Christmas ornaments. Will wrap and get them ready to mail. I decided that I want to give my kids a Traditional Christmas pickle. The Tradition of the Christmas Pickle goes something like this:
It's Christmas, a time of jingle bells, stockings, presents under the tree and family traditions. Celebrate the Holidays with a time-honored, German tradition and have fun with your family for years to come! Following an Old World custom, parents waited until Christmas Eve to hide a small pickle ornament on the Christmas tree, tucking it out of sight among the branches. On Christmas morning, the first family member to spot the pickle was rewarded with a special blessing for the coming year and received the first present from under the tree.
Some would say this is a myth, but I think it is a great Tradition to share with family. We all need Traditions to make the Season bright.
Blessings to you.
Off to displaying the Nativity Scene, wrap gifts, do a load of laundry, write out some bills, freshen up, go shop and call it a day. Blessings to you. Pray you are having a fabulous day.
XOXO d
