WEDNESDAY IS A DAY OF REST FOR ME after having a surgical procedure yesterday at the HOSPITAL. I am doing super well. No cramps and very little bleeding from a Hysteroscopy with dilation and curettage, polypectomy and myomectomy. Follow-up in a few weeks.
My entire day was dedicated to this procedure and resting afterwards. I slept when I got home until 10pm, ate some steak fries with dipping sauce and went back to sleep. Resting well and spending my day leisurely in my recliner. Am extremely tired, but absolutely no pain. NO MEDS either. Like a miracle.
The doctor removed polyps before working on a calcified fibroid. When I return to the follow-up I will ask her how many fibroids she saw and find out about the polyps. The reports should be in by then where she can visit with me about uterine cancer or not. She told my husband that she didn't believe I have cancer, but won' know for sure until the results are back.
I have a suspicion that the bleeding I have had has been polyps all along. I did not know that women can have polyps inside the uterus. NEVER KNEW. I was led to believe by my MANHATTAN GYNO that I had a multitude of fibroids in my uterus. I was told that my uterus was full of fibroids. I do have a large calcified fibroid or did have until yesterday. My new doc removed 75% of it. Already I feel better being able to hold my bladder longer. This fibroid had pushed on the bladder making it more challenging to hold my bladder.
I am somewhat stymied that I did not know I had polyps. I had been misinformed FOR YEARS by Dr. P the Manhattan Gyn. His treatment plan was a hysterectomy for the fibroids without doing more investigation. I am stymied, stunned and relieved that I switched gynecologist that is a D.O.
My previous doc did not tell me I had cyst on my ovaries until I read my medical history from him. Why he didn't tell me is beyond me. Maybe I never had cyst in the first place. In December of 2022, when I last visited him for a PAP which led to a colposcopy on the same visit, I will no longer go to him or suggest him to anyone. After doing my own reading, a colposcopy isn't suggested until a bad PAP report comes in. He took 2 finger size biopsies without using a vinegar solution to see problem spots in the vagina/cervix. I understand that a punch biopsy could have been done which are the size of a pencil eraser. No prep information was given before the Colposcopy nor was any information on what to do was given afterwards. I left the office as dumb as ever. No verbal or printed info about what to do after I had this procedure. none.
It wouldn't be until a month after the procedure that I read the instructions for what to do after having a Colposcopy. A month later. The nurse had called me before the test results came back to tell me the Doctor would like to do a hysteroscopy and D&C. I told her that I wanted to know the results first then bowed out about using Dr. P ever again. My PAP and Colposcopy Biopsies came back good.
I had already begun my search for a different doc. Prayed and went looking. Found a D.O. in Topeka that I visited about postmenopausal bleeding. The soonest she could get me in for this surgery procedure was JUNE. Here I am and the procedure is done. PRAISE THE LORD.
While I waited for surgery, I watched part of the movie GREEN BOOK. I've seen it before and liked it.
I am recovering and will return to see her in a few weeks. I can't lift moving boxes for a few days so I won't. I'll wash dishes, work on bills/paperwork and tomorrow do some laundry, tape packing boxes and proceed to getting downsized.
Hubby hired a young guy to mow our large yard. Husband saw him working across the street and got his card. I think we need some help getting everything done that we need to do to get on with moving. The young man was very reasonable on his prices.
After much thought, I decided that I will do a three day water FAST, then advance to drink for three days bone broth and V8 easing into a large salad one day a meal food program. Not sure how far along I will get on this. It will take sheer discipline to fast to start a reduction food program to lose a hundred pounds in a year.
I'll use my sister's 70th birthday as when I started. After my surgery procedure where I was only allowed 4 oz of water in the morning to take morning meds, I did not eat anything until 6 in the evening and again 10 at night I decided this was a continuation of a intermittent fasting day and doing a water FAST the next day seems like a plan. Now is the time to take this very seriously and reduce my weight as best I can. I have been stuck at a certain weight and started putting weight back on. Not happy about this at all. I am pleased I took 50 pounds off, but when the weight starts creeping back on, I have to do something different as I cannot eat like I have before for so many years.
I'm not getting any younger am I? No. My 68th birthday is in 5 weeks. My gift to myself this year will be weight reduction with a ridiculously huge salads each day for a OMAD program. One meal a day program. It will take discipline like never before used. May I stay on the wagon. When I first heard about OMAD, I thought, there's no way I could do this. Studied up on it and now I am preparing myself to DO THIS. One Meal A DAY. whoopy. Is it I'm MAD or OMAD?
In 5 weeks I will be going in for my yearly physical. It hits on my birthday! Wowzer. I will be ready to be weighed by the nurse on that day in comparison as to what my scale says.
68. I am old. When I think about my sister turning 70, it hits me between the eyes that we are not young anymore. 70. Can't wrap my head around this.
SO it's rest.
Paperwork.
Dishes.
Reading/blogging.
Tomorrow I will focus on laundry and I have plenty of it.
