What does Jergens All-Purpose Face Cream and Crayola Washable Markers have in common?
Lil Miss.
There is a children's table and chairs in the Family room in which Lil Miss uses daily. She eats at it, draws/colors at it, reads at it, plays with toys at it.
It isn't uncommon for her to be sitting at her table to draw and color. Occasionally I give her a black sharpie to color with after I have laid a grocery bag down on the table to protect the top of the table from the marker. I've told Lil Miss not to draw on the table or her clothes. She enjoys drawing with the marker and I thought as long as she's supervised it was alright.
In the past, she has done so well at drawing with the sharpie!
On President's Day 2011, I decided she could draw with crayola markers and a sharpie. Her coloring books were available. I was about 5 feet away from the back of Lil Miss sitting at her table. I was in my overstuffed chair blogging. Blogging.
I knew she was coloring. She was having a great time as she quietly colored. She was entertaining herself.
From my point of view there was no cause to be alarmed. She was harmlessly entertaining herself. I could see her backside from where I was sitting. When I looked up from the computer, she was quietly coloring. Remember she's just about 5 feet away. She's supervised.
It is a sweet treat to watch her playing or coloring and drawing. So nice that she quietly entertains herself.
She turned around and looked at me with a pink smudge on her nose saying, "Grandma, I have a surprise for you!"
I thought this is sweet...she has probably drawn a picture for me.
As she turned about in her chair, she had her arms behind her. Then she showed me her hands...I must of turned 3 shades of SHOCKwhite as I saw her primrose pink colored hands with black fingernails...and thought how am I going to get this off of her?
Then I saw her arms. Do you know who Barney is???? He's about the same color of this shade of Primrose by Crayola WASHABLE
MARKERS. Remember she was supervised and only 5 feet from me...her granny...who babysits her...Monday thru Friday...me, her Grandma....................I couldn't have bugged my eyes out of my head anymore than I did.
She had colored both arms and hands primrose.
IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE WASHABLE.
Ummmmmmmm...washable.
Great for children to use.
Washable.
I thought of cold cream...gentle on the skin...out came the pink Jergens ALL-PURPOSE Face Cream.
Gently I wiped the Barney away. Washed her with soap and water. Rubbed more Jergens on and wiped. More soap and water. Checked out what CRAYOLA.COM says about getting Primrose off of human skin. They suggested soap and water, shaving cream, rubbing alcohol, hairspray and a few other items.
I tried shaving cream.....not working.
I tried rubbing alcohol....not working.
I didn't want to use hairspray.
Stuck with Jergens ALL-PURPOSE Face Cream, soap with water and baby wipes.
Used wash clothes to wipe off.
Looks pretty good after 2 hours of working to get this off.
After attempts to get the Barney Arms and Hands cleaned away...Jergens was the over all WINNER!
The black Sharpie on the fingernails...well...that was another story.
Black nails are very IN for Halloween, but that's aways away. So wearing off took place.
