Root Beer REVIEW

We started out with Sioux City drank straight from the chilled bottle and when the time came to sample the other one we poured Olde Rhode Island into traveling cup with ice.
Boo Cards and Autumn Fun
Autumn Fun at HomeHaven happens with black construction paper, white tempera paint, a pan on a covered floor with little hands and feet that want to play in the paint to create BOO Cards and painted pumpkins. This is a great project for youngsters.Tempera paint is inexpensive, dries quickly and is easily washed off of hands and feet.
Start out by folding the construction paper into a card shape. The upside down foot print will become the body of a ghost.
Dip foot into tempera paint and step onto card to make a ghost shape.
Let card dry. Then with a magic marker draw eyes, mouth and the BOO! Personalize the inside of the card with message and maybe even tape a piece of candy inside for a treat.

Tempera Paint goes along ways. Hand painting the pumpkins is a fun project for little ones. Just ask Toddler. She'll tell you it was sooooo much funnnnn.

May you have a wonderful week-end as we enter into the Thanksgiving Month of November. Warm Blessings and Thankful Hearts for all God has blessed us with this day and the past year. God richly bless you and your home haven that brings you a place to rest and be refreshed.

Grandma, sing me a Lullaby.
Hold me in your arms and gaze into my face.
Are you wondering what my personality will develop into?
What talents I'll display?
Will you enjoy watching me play when that day arrives?
Will you smile when I smile at you?
When God blessed my Mom and Dad with me, do you suppose He wanted me to enjoy being?
Will I have a favorite food?
What will my favorite color be?
Will I ride a bike or climb a tree?
Will I sing and twirl in the backyard?
Will I pick up leaves and put them in my pockets?
Will you give me a nick name and call me your little Buddy?
Time will tell, but for now, please sing me a Lullaby and hold me in your arms.

Thank you dear friends for stopping by and seeing my little Grandson.
God bless you.
May you have a wonderful LIFE,

Tea Time To Ease Us

Welcome to HomeHaven while the wind is blowing outside and the sky is grey. I'm about to have some tea to sip on while I think about the birth of my newest Grandson, Aiden. I hope to have some pictures to show you of this little guy with his proud Daddy and pretty Mom before the week is out. Won't you please sit awhile and chat?
We traveled from our Kansas home to our children's Oklahoma Home on Sunday, October 25th. We visited with them and dropped off a frozen turkey and a heavy Christmas package!
It is a delight to see our family and get to visit.
Then we drove another hour to the Motel that was in the town of the Hospital where Shell would deliver little Aiden. After we checked in, it was time to rest up before for the next day's big event.
On Monday morning October 26th, Shell had already been wheeled into the Operating Room for prepping and surgery when we got there. I was hoping we'd get to see her before she went into surgery, but we missed this opportunity by that much!
My husband and I along with Shell's parents waited in the Lobby next to the operating room and at about 8:25 am, our son wheeled his newborn son into the hallway as a Nurse walked along side toward the Nursery to weigh Aiden and check him over.
Momma was doing well...Baby having some trouble breathing. We could see Aiden through the Nursery window and noticed his heavy, labored breathing. Time ticked slowly.
In the afternoon my husband rode along with our son an hour to go pick up his two children from School and a Babysitter's. I was going to go back to the Motel and rest, but I truly got lost while driving our car to the motel. I found myself in tears driving down Main Street. Praying. As I stopped at the corner of Broadway and Main, I saw a large sign on the side of a building advertising a Church. I was at the corner of where this sign said their church was. The front door of the building was opened so I pulled into the parking space right out side their front door and thought if the minister is in, I'd ask for prayer.
As I walked into their sanctuary, a man was crawling around on the floor working on the sound system. I said, "Hello!"
Two men over by the front window stood up to greet me and I asked, "Are you the Pastor?"
Both said yes and I began to explain what was going on with this new born baby. Gary and Zach prayed for me about Aiden's health and were kind enough to offer to go to the hospital if needed. Zach said he has a 4 year old son named Aiden as well!
This is wonderful that these Godly Men prayed right then and there for us. I thanked God for Godly Men!
I found my way back to the Motel, called my sister and asked if she'd put Aiden on a Prayer Chain, rested and then returned to the Hospital. I went in to see my daughter-in-law. Little Aiden was still having problems. My husband was back by this time. When I got to the room, he excused himself to go to the restroom. Within a few seconds he happily returned to the room and said Aiden was looking around, raising his arms, kicking his legs!!! A different baby all together. He was all smiles. So, I went to look at Aiden through the Nursery window and sure enough his chest and stomach were not heaving! He was breathing so much better. PRAISE THE LORD!!!
PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW. PRAISE HIM ALL CREATURES HERE BELOW.
May little Aiden continue to be well. Thank you for your prayers. The miracle of life. We would get to hold him on Tuesday. Precious baby.
We returned home Tuesday night. Tired.
Oh dear, where are my manners...please, won't you tell me about your plans for the week-end?
Halloween on Saturday and full size candy bars for the young Trick-or-Treaters. Have you ever heard of people attaching scripture to the candy bars they hand out? Don't forget the time change.
Glad you stopped by. You mean a great deal to me.
God bless you,
~Deanna~
Wild West and Church
A Wednesday Hello to you from
Home Haven
as we revisit the Wild West in Wichita, Kansas at the Old Cowtown Museum.
Walking about the grounds is always a pleasure for me because there are no automobiles to be concerned about while walking across the streets and viewing the authentic buildings or homes.
As we entered the First Presbyterian Church a recording of people singing a Christian Hymn was playing. Sitting in the front pew was a mature couple singing along while holding hymnals.
This particular Church would have been considered a nice one in the wild west because of the beautiful wooden pews positioned inside this fine structure that had windows, lighting, printed hymnals, a pastorial lectern, a piano AND organ. Not to mention the Minister and a pleasant Congregation ready to hear a godly message and have fellowship with like minded people.
Though the west was wild, there were also fine people who desired to be civilized and cultured in their community.
I have often thought about what kind of life I would have had or cultivated if I had been a patron at that time. What would I have worn? Would I have had my own Bible to carry to Church or read at Home? Would I have even known how to read? Would I have had a place to call Home and be blessed with a Husband, Children and furniture in my home? How's about dishes, a bed and a sink? Would I have had food in my pantry or extra clothing and shoes to wear? Money in the Bank or socked away elsewhere? Would we have visited with one another and shared recipes or broke bread together? How would you have lived???
Please join me as we tour the inside of this old Presbyterian Church.

Enjoy our visits and appreciate your presence. Hope you have a pleasant day this exciting Wild West Wednesday!

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.
