UP EARLY TO GET A TIRE FIXED. A little bit of a drive to drop off the tire. While it was getting worked on, we went to nearby PAXICO to gaze at the antiques. It's been a while since we strolled the store. Always fun to see their inventory and chat with the people present.
A gorgeous oil lamp chandelier caught my eye, but way out of my price range. WAY OUT OF REACH for oui. There's a vanilla colored Magic Chef stove that hollered at me. Some jewelry. Enjoyed the view, but no high priced purchases today. In the yard art area I did see something for our garden and the price was right. Purchased it then went to the park to burn some time until the PAXICO LONG BRANCH was open for a old fashioned hamburger. They have terrific onion rings and today their hamburger was a HAMBARGER. Quite good. This is my beef for the week plus carbs in the bun.
Our leisurely LUNCH was appreciated before we went to pick up our tire.
There's just something about small town Paxico place that isn't crowded with traffic and people. As we drove around town admiring the small quaint houses with sizable lots, I was looking for Irises in bloom and they had them.
Went to pick up the tire and came HOME to rest. Will snooze today. Late afternoon Track Meet. Need rested up for the drive and meet. It'll be a late night coming HOME.

| BABY GEM BOXWOOD |
THIS WEEK-END, some additional Baby Gem Boxwoods will be planted in the front flowerbed. We bought 7 new ones to fill in the row we already have and replace some that the snow and ice injured. The WINTER was too hard on a few of them. Looking at the different boxwoods on the market is interesting, because there are so many different types of BOXWOODS.
Finding Baby Gems was harder than I ever dreamt. HOME DEPOT had some, but not too many. Grabbed what we needed.
💵 They do not give these away. Cost a pretty penny. We figured if we need to move them elsewhere on the property that we could. For now, I am truly pleased with the BABY GEM BOXWOOD HEDGE we are creating in the front porch flowerbed.
The beautiful Irises in the side yard flowerbed will be thinned out in July so a path can be made to the water faucet. These beauties will go out front about the base of the tall trees we have by the curb.
They are re-bloomers which means they bloom twice, once in mid Spring and again in late Summer. Immortality.
We had Irises about the base of some trees at the rock house when we lived there and I adored them. Having some out front will compliment our tiny cottage.
I walked out back to look at our other flowerbeds of Irises and I know it will be the right thing to group like kinds and plant them in circles of 6 bulbs. Now to get them marked so when they fade it will be easier to group them for planting in July/August.
When the Kansas State University Gardens has their late July sale, we might go to purchase more bulbs to complete the circles of 6 bulbs here in our little corner of the world.
I planted two Geraniums in an old wire basket lined with moss and hung it on an old bird cage stand behind the church pew that sits on our porch. Coming along.
Rest my back a bit and then I'll stretch some craft paper down so I can start crafting some wreaths. Little by little, I'll get there.
