Eclipse August 21, 2017

Monday skies were overcast with a glow in the atmosphere that this camera didn't pick up.  When I went outside to take a few pictures, I glanced up at the sun for a split second to locate the position of the sun.  That split second hurt my eyes.  I didn't look for long.

Holding the camera upwards without knowing if I framed captured the sun.  SNAP.  Quickly looking at the still picture on the camera showed the place where the sun appeared as a black circle.

The black circle changed into what you see here.  Did that really happen?  So I took another picture to see the magic happen again.  Sure enough.  This was entertaining.

Across the country, many people were sun gazing as the eclipse took place.  Many said that this was a once in a lifetime event.

Alright...it was, but so was the day you were born,

Exodus 10:21-23King James Version (KJV)

21 And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.
22 And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:
23 They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.

Just Before The Eclipse

Mini vacay this past week-end by spending the night in a quiet Kansas City neighborhood at a small Motel we discovered a few years ago.  Two hours from HOME.  Made arrangements to take some material to an upholsterer working on our fire recovery furniture.  FRIDAY EVENING IN K.C. and road trip to OKLAHOMA on Saturday.

Peeked at our wood MORRIS CHAIRS that had been refinished.  The material we bought will look nice on these old recliners that will become our casual reclining chairs to watch television in.

Pork Chop supper, rested and slept at the Motel.

Next morning we drove to Oklahoma to celebrate our Grandson's 3rd birthday on Saturday then be part of a Sunday SURPRISE 40th Birthday party for our Daughter-In-Law, Shell.

WONDERFUL WEEK-END.
Returned HOME late on Sunday.

MORE PICS LATER

Monday was a slow paced day watching the Eclipse.  The sky appeared as a cloudy day with a glowing atmosphere.  When I took a picture of the eclipse, my camera did a funny.

I didn't so much as look into the camera lens.  Just held the camera up and looked elsewhere.  SNAP.  The instant the camera clicked, a black circle appeared on the camera pic showing my shot then faded to the still picture.  For a split second the eclipse showed up on my pic and then vanished.

I took 4 more pics and they all did the same thing.  This was the closest I got to seeing the eclipse.  I spent the rest of the day inside working on paperwork.

TODAY, I worked on FIRE RECOVERY receipts.  Made progress until the copier ran out of paper.  New machine and couldn't load more paper due to not being able to open it up to load.  Will continue tomorrow.  This FIRE RECOVERY job is time consuming  which I will rejoice when completed.  Not sure when that will be.  Hello.

Took this as a sign to do something else.  Worked on bills.  Always a pleasure.  Went through baskets of paper.  RESTED until Husband got HOME.

Quiet evening resting with fresh, cool air drifting into the Living room through the screened in porch.  FINALLY comfortable breeze to wrap around my old tired body sitting in my secondhand chair.

Went through a few cardboard boxes to find some of my pretties broken making me sigh.  This week I'll continue going through boxes in the Dining room hoping to have a functioning room soon.  I'm poking when it comes to this.  I'm sorry but sometimes I do get overwhelmed with all that needs done.

Deep breath,

'Life Just Got A little Easier' Baked Chicken

Vidalia Onion Baked Chicken
is a dish I created for a quick meal
once upon a time when I was so busy
with a growing family.

LACKING ENERGY?
It's EASY TO PREPARE and taste good.

Great flavor.
No complaints.

This has been a favorite of ours for years.

Cover chicken breast with Vidalia Onion Salad Dressing.
Bake for an hour in the oven at 350 degrees.
Frozen chicken can be used straight from the freezer.
Frozen...Bake for an hour and a half.

Serve with veggies and noodles.

Dining On The Prairie made easy.
Quick to fix and clean-up in one baking dish.

Life Just Got Easier and I need all the help I can get.
Blessings,
d

Where Do You Start After A MOVE?

SLEEP WELL after a move.
I've heard the Bedroom should be the first room put together
after a move, so that it's the first thing you see in the morning upon waking and the last thing you see when retiring for the night.

CLEAN BEDDING and sweet dreams.

DECORATING

I knew a very frugal Lady named Edith that shared with me a excellent guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls, and the windows have nice curtains, you'll have an attractive room."

John 3:7

Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.

King James Version (KJV)

PSALM 118:17

I shall not die,
but live, and declare
the works of the Lord.

PROVERBS 24:3-4

By wisdom
a house is built,
and through understanding

it is established;
through
knowledge

its rooms are filled with rare

and beautiful treasures.

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.

WISHES

NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH with all your might that the something devastating that happened in your life hadn't happened and want so badly to go back in time to prevent it from happening...it isn't humanly possible to do this. You can't change the fact that it happened. IT DID. But JESUS can change the MEANING of what happened to you and give you PEACE. He can show you the way in which you are to go. God richly BLESS you. ~Deanna
