Putting Autumn Away

AUTUMN is disappearing as WINTER takes over.  CHRISTMAS will appear soon as the leaves have blown away leaving a void.  As I put the FALL decorations away, Twinkling Christmas will appear.  Say GOOD-BYE to Autumn.

AUTUMN colors will morph into a different color theme such as icy blues, silver and crystal.....how could I forget vibrant reds, golds and greens.  

   Indoor decorations stayed simple this year.
Time to put them away.
It seems that after I decorate for a season that when the time comes to put the decorations it seems kind of naked around here.
Not for long as CHRISTMAS will appear.

The squares are cut from my Dad's shirts he wore.
Dad passed away almost a year ago.
  

Very fresh in my mind.  

Mom will enjoy using this so much.

I miss him.  Misssssssss him.

THANKSGIVING 2017

BEFORE THE FAMILY GATHERED for Thanksgiving, Hubby and I took care of last minute details.  Hung a couple of mirrors, a wooden cup rack, shuffled boxes out of the grey room so the kids could sleep on the floor, put clean sheets on beds, washed towels, brought Thanksgiving dishes out of the basement, made sure there were clean drinking glasses, arranged a Kitchen nook for Holiday food, spot cleaned the house, etc.

THE DINING ROOM CHAIRS came out of storage, were cleaned and put in place.  WA lahhhhh.  We had a Dining room.

There was no school on Wednesday so a couple of GRANDS spent the night and helped me sweep the floor and shop.  

I finished my last minute shopping with a couple of little helpers by my side picking up the last of what we needed to put on a feast.  Baked a turkey in a baking bag as we did laundry at the mat.  Hubby carved the meat after it had rested on the bone.  It was very tasty and looked like it should.  Was pleased.  With so much to do I thought it best to fix two turkeys on different days.

I didn't want to be worn out before company came.  Was hoping that I would be ready a week before, but I was cleaning the bathrooms right up to the minute I heard, "HI GRANDMA!"

AS FAMILY GATHERED for the Holiday, the weather was beautiful.  Answered prayer.  This meant that the kids could play outside and not be crowded inside.  Treat.

BIG THANKSGIVING DINNER was served up in the Kitchen.  Made a place to eat in the Kitchen for the children with the adults eating in the Dining room.  Had a very nice time together.
