Surprise In A Box

40 gift packages were wrapped 

to help celebrate my son's 40th birthday.

SURPRISE PARTY COMING.

As we cleaned the garage the last week of May, 

I was looking to locate childhood keepsakes that were stored in vinyl tubs 
knowing that my oldest son's 40th birthday was approaching.
I thought it would be nice to surprise him with 40 gifts 
from his childhood for his 40th.

It was a walk down memory lane.  
Emotional for me.  
To think that our first born turns 40 is a miracle.  

I had to discipline myself to stay focused 

and make headway cleaning the garage.

My sweet daughter-in-law planned a SURPRISE 
40th Birthday Party.

 Our St. Louis SON arrived to get his big brother out of the house for the day so we could SURPRISE him. 

We drove the distance and arrived early to help decorate 
and set up shop.  

There were about 40 people there to yell "SURPRISE!" 

He was speechless.

Having all our Grandchildren together 

was a miracle.

   

Having our children all under the same roof 

was a miracle. 

Taking pictures…priceless.

Also challenging.

 Close enough.

When the dust settled and it was just our immediate family, 

the 40 gifts came out for our son to open.  

I think he enjoyed going down memory lane as well.  

It was a joyous occasion.  

Joyous!

Everything from High School items to Grade School sports jerseys, baseball cards, things he had made to some gifts from Grand Parents.  His Arrow of Light from Cub Scouts, 
Pine Wood Derby car, and badges.  Music and movies.  Hats, caps, wooden toys and balls.

I wrote clues on some of the package as to what was inside.

He actually did well guessing.

He had an audience to watch what was inside the boxes.

Sweet to watch.

It was his birth~day when he was born, 
not knowing he was a present.

He was my motherhood gift for a journey 

I am so THANKFUL to have been given.

I told him he was a pain...on his birthday.

Ha.

Now to wrap gifts for the other two kids 

for when they turn 40.  Looking for more boxes.

WHERE WILL I STASH THEM?  I have a special place in mind.
