'LIFE JUST GOT A LITTLE EASIER' HOT CHOCOLATE MIX

My Mom's Recipe that I want to Share.

This stores and keeps for a long time.

INGREDIENTS for 8 Quart  Supply

8 Quart Box of Powdered Milk 

2 pounds Nestle Quick Mix

1 (6 oz.) Jar Coffee Mate

2 Cups Sifted Powdered Sugar  

MIX & STORE in air tight container. 

INDIVIDUAL SERVING: Add hot water to 1/4 Cup of mix in a mug.

Making Memories
I made a batch of this when my children were younger and it was a hit during the cold weather we had after we relocated to a smaller town.  The rental house was way too cold.  We bundled up, sipped Hot Chocolate and watched the 1992 Winter Olympics that were held in France.  I remember that the winning metals were made out of crystal that year. 

When I was a little girl our Family would go camping in the Colorado Rockies.  Mom fixed us this to drink so we'd warm up.  It was chilly in the Rockies.

'Life Just Got A Little Easier' Hot Chocolate Mix

Kansas Winters here in the Flinthills can be so cold that you have to find ways to stay warm while in your Home. Sipping on a hot beverage while surfing the web/net can be a relaxing SPORT.

Hubby has a secret recipe for Hot Chocolate...so I can't give it away. Sorry. Just one of those things!

But 'Life Just Got A Little Easier' Hot Cocoa Mix that my Mom has shared with me makes a delicious mix that you just add hot water to and create a Gourmet Hot Drink for those cold days that you need a little something to warm you up. It's a bit rich.

As a child, I drank this Hot Cocoa when our Family went camping in Colorado for Vacation. Chilly in Colorado! Fond Memories to enjoy. Along with the camp fire and fixing a gooey delight with toasting marshmallows on a stick...sleeping on the ground in a bedroll inside a tent...mac and cheese suppers...playing with pinecones to make miniature villages...fishing in a creek...looking at the stars.

Back in January 1992 after my husband was laid off from work, we moved from Texas to a small Kansas Town. It was so cold in the little rental house that we crammed ourselves into. Special entertainment that Winter was watching the televised Olympics Games held in France. I remember that the Metals were made of crystal instead of metal. Hum...I thought that was odd. A Gold Metal was no longer gold...crystal isn't gold. Oh well.

We'd watch the televised evening events bundled up in blankets in our little Livingroom sipping this Hot Cocoa in front of our television. The bad reception was beyond fussy...and there wouldn't be any money spent on cable, so we did our best to watch what we could and stay current on the 1992 Winter Olympics Games!

HOT CHOCOLATE MIX

Ingredients

8 quart box of powdered milk

2 pound box Nestle Quick

1 (6 oz.) jar Coffee Mate

2 cups powdered sugar, sifted

Mix ingredients together and store in glass jar or plastic tub until ready to use.

Add hot water to 1/4 c of mixture in mug, stir and serve.

This easy recipe makes plenty of mix to have ready to go and on hand for future usage.
