As we spent the day in Abilene, 
we drove past the Lebold Mansion to take a few pictures 
knowing she's for sale again.  

Nobody HOME.

A Historical House

The Historical Lebold Mansion has a story to tell.

Inside She's decorated to beat the band.

Built in 1880, she has CURB appeal.

I think my dream home is on a plot the size of this one.

A fenced yard like this would be sweeeeeeet.

Abilene, Kansas is her HOME.

I've toured her twice, but believe she is no longer allowed to be toured by the Public.

She was sold in  September 2010.

When we saw her last she had wind damage to her structure.

We went up into this tower many years ago 

and looked out above the tops of buildings.

It was super hot that day, but thought it a treat 

to be in that part of the house.

I truly believe that this is a fine example of how a Formal Parlour would have had her furniture arranged.
Library tables were the center of the room 
or the focal point where Family members would have gathered around.
The Devan or Sofa would have been pushed up against a wall, much like you see here.
Every up and coming proper member of society 
would have had books and curios sitting about as well as in a cabinet to display their wealth.

Lebold Mansion

Beloved, If you enjoy Victorian Houses dolled up in HIGH FASHION interior design, then the 1880 Lebold Mansion will be eye candy for you. She's a good study located in Abilene, Kansas and might interest you.

These pictures are not in any special order. I think just viewing the pictures one will be able to see a variety of colors and patterns used, different lighting, decorative ceilings, elaborate draperies, period furniture, etc. All are blended together to create a Victorian Palace. From top to basement, all is decked out to beat the band. Lots more to see that isn't featured here.

I've toured the Mansion twice. The first time I was abit in a daze at the interior flashiness. The second time, my eyes weren't dancing about so much and it was easier to enjoy.

It's a treat and I would love to tour at a slower pace and soak it all in.

Last I knew...she was for sale! Wowza.
