HOT TAMALE, TEA PARTIES and CLEANING

JUST GOT BACK FROM WALKING A FULL MILE AT THE TRACK.
Checked what the morning temps would be and thought 73 degrees is just right for getting a walk in.  The HEAT WAVE is here for the rest of the week.  When it's only 73 I need to take advantage of it and GOOOOOOOO.

It took me about 27 minutes to walk the 4 laps.  Lap number 2 is when I begin to heat up and heat up I did.  After putting the mile in, I drove to the post office to drop some mail off.  Headed HOME to cool off.  I'll clear the table off of the papers that I got stapled.  I sorted them into similar subject matters.  I want to clear the table so I'll box them for now.

Last night I went through the papers on thyroid health as I am preparing for my November appointment with the APRN.  The questions are many.  I've been at this for 15 years and not once have the Endocrinologist and medical staff checked my vitamin levels so I have to question why not?  It's always the TSH.  If this number is in the BOX then they believe they have done their job even if I'm still hypothyroid with symptoms.  Truthfully they should be the ones to be checking for vitamin deficiencies.  I have found that the patients are the ones that are on top of things checking for deficiencies, not the doc.

Time for a better Endocrinologist?  Are they all cut out of the same cloth?  Seems like it and looking for a thyroid advocate is helpful.

Watching the television series, GILDED AGE.  The accident at the end of the episode looked so real I had to rewatch it.  I'll be going back to watch the episodes and pause the frame to take note of the women's fashions.  I might take some pics as I would like to stitch myself a period piece for myself.  I may have Tea Parties for young girls and wear a period piece as we take TEA.  This has been on the back burner for years.  I need to do this and check it off my BUCKET LIST.

The week is off and going.  I may not blog for a few days as I will be focusing on cleaning the bedroom STUFF.  I am slower than molasses and spicy as a hot tamale.  When I can see the floor in the room I will be HAPPY.  Let you know about it.  For now, I have to keep a good attitude and be hopeful.  Still waiting for the bathroom cabinet doors to come in so there is a pause in finishing the Bathroom.  I'll tend to some of my plants and the container garden is producing now.  I had miniature cucumbers in my salad last night and it was a thrill.  grins.

All the best,
~d

MAKING PLANS FOR RESTOCKING and DRINKING TEA FOR HEALTH BENEFITS

NOT SURE WHAT I WILL GET DONE TODAY AS THE TIREDS HAVE HIT.  On days like this, I tend to want to sit and do nothing.  I got into trouble yesterday when I took an evening nap and when I do this I tend to not want to fall asleep at bedtime.  This happened to me as I stay up until 3 am wide awake as if it were daylight hours.  I slept til 9:30 the next morning which throws my day out of whack.  I hope my energy levels are higher when I get out for afternoon errands.  Some walking will take place and I hope to feel better.

My additional companion will be ICED GREEN TEA as I run about.  It will be my captive audience with no back talking.  Yak away.

My mornings start with jotting down TO DO LIST in my DAY TIMER.

My DAY TIMER is simply a spiral notebook that I jot down notes about what I accomplish during the day and what I need to get done.  I jotted down that I need to drive to the pharmacy 13 miles away across the river for meds, drop off some bills and drive on over to MENARDS in Manhattan about 20 miles for some concrete blocks to sit the hot water heater on, dish detergent, liquid hand soap, paper towels, etc.  Will do this in the early afternoon before it gets dark outside.  Morning hours will be at a slow pace with doing some laundry.

Living in a seriously tiny town is sometimes like living in the country.  If we lived in the country, we'd have to make plans when to go into town for supplies kind of like this situation I'm in except there is a Post Office here and gas stations.  No grocery store other than Dollar General for a few food items and the Convenience Store, so one must make plans to shop with a drive involved.

THIS MORNING I'm drinking HOT Pomegranate Green TEA sprinkled with Cayenne Pepper with a kick.  Nutritional value of Pomegranates: Pomegranates are low in calories and fat but high in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Benefits include antioxidants, heart health, urinary health, exercise endurance, and more.

https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/12-proven-benefits-of-pomegranate

I seldom bless myself with Pomegranate anything.  I will have to acquire a taste for it.  On the other hand, Green Tea is something I am quite familiar with and LIKE very much.

Green tea is a type of tea that is made from Camellia sinensis leaves and buds that have not undergone the same withering and oxidation process which is used to make oolong teas and black teas. Green tea originated in China, and since then its production and manufacture has spread to other countries in East Asia.

Green tea may help support cognition, maintenance of moderate weight, and offer some protection against cancer. Also helps with one's blood glucose level and lowering blood pressure.

https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/top-10-evidence-based-health-benefits-of-green-tea

Some teas, such as hibiscus or green tea, may lower blood pressure by promoting blood vessel relaxation and cardiovascular health. High blood pressure, or hypertension, is a significant risk factor for various cardiovascular conditions, including heart disease, stroke, and heart attacks.

https://www.healthline.com/health/high-blood-pressure-hypertension/tea-to-lower-blood-pressure

Adding heart-healthy teas to your daily routine can be a tasty way to help holistically manage your blood pressure. While teas aren’t a substitute for medication or lifestyle changes, they do have some compounds that can help you relax and have a small, positive effect on your blood pressure.

Before you start drinking more tea on a regular basis, talk with your doctor. They can give you personalized advice and make sure the tea you want to try won’t interfere with any medications you’re taking.

Many times, articles will state that there is NO Scientific evidence to back the good being said about natural products by individuals that are not mainstream docs.  In a nut shell, I believe this is because the ones pimping synthetic meds are running the show and they do not do scientific testing period because the natural things cannot be patented which means they do not make money off of them.  It boils down to profit over people.  If the product is NATURAL they steer clear of supporting it.

We can thank JOHN D. ROCKEFELLER for promoting synthetic meds that are made from petroleum products which made him a even RICHER man than he already was.  With the financial support he gave grants to medical schools steering them and their students to veer away from natural products and use synthetic meds, x-rays and surgery for medical issues.  What ever he said, was the way they went.  Homeopathic practices were deemed as quackery.  Native American medical practices were censored and Medical schools for blacks were closed down. Not only was white supremacy the rule, but Rockefeller controlled the minds of those studying medicine as a profession.  Allopathy medicine was born.  Scientific studies are not done on the natural because there is no money in it for their greedy ways.

The Allopathic doctors are trained to give pills and not investigate the reason for the health problem in the first place.  A massive cover up takes place instead of getting to the root of the problem.  The meds prescribed usually have bad side effects and after long term use other health issues arise which the doctor usually prescribes additional meds which cover up what is causing more issues.  Vicious cycle.  Medical doctors have their place when it comes to helping a patient in a certain way.  Sometimes it is helpful and sometimes not.

I understand now that ascorbic acid used in the Emergen-C product to combat colds is made from GMO CORN.  SO I won't be using Emergen-C products anymore.  Eating an organic orange is a better choice.  I need to check Dr. Mercola's vitamin C and see what it is made out of. Believe I'll have to phone them to ask if their vitamin C/ascorbic acid comes from GMO corn or not.  When I think I'm doing something good for my health I find out that it isn't so healthy after all if the ingredients are GMO.  hum.  Lord, help me to know the difference.

Often synthetic ascorbic acid is derived from genetically modified corn and processed with a host of chemicals such as acetone (yes – just like nail polish remover). Not only that, as it says in its name, ascorbic acid is acidic, and people with sensitive stomachs often don't tolerate this form of the nutrient.

Do you know what your medicines are made of and what all of their ingredients really are? Takes some homework, but the information is listed for the public to read.

We did go to TOPEKA last Tuesday with the places we went to being so crowded with shoppers. Finding a parking space was challenging except at the WALMART NEIGHBORHOOD GROCERS.  I suppose many wanted to get out the day after New Year's Day just like us while the weather is decent with snow coming on Friday, again on Monday and possibly more in a week. The skies have been gray with fog in the air.  Makes for setting a WINTER's atmosphere.

The pantry has been updated as old can goods were pulled and trashed.  Chuckling while reading the dates stamped on the cans.  Seems like many of the goods should have been used years ago. A waste on the pocketbook.

I tend to stock boxed soups these days instead of canned ones.  An ample supply of pasta, rice and cake mixes is kept on hand.  Canned fruit/veggies like  apples, apple sauce, apple butter, pie fillings, jellies, peanut butter, green beans, corn, asparagus, peaches, pears, condiments like ketch-up and mustard.  Spices and herbs galore.  Flour, sugars, baking soda and baking powder, honey, maple syrup, salt, pepper.  Vitamins and minerals.  I suppose I should stay stocked up like it were Y2K all over again.

Here's to HAWTHORNE BERRY TEA.  Need to get some as it will help with high blood pressure. Teas are natural diuretics which do not cause skin cancer like HCTZ does.  Hydrochlorothiazide does.  Info is being published that there is a link.  If I drink my tea, take supplements that help with blood sugar and blood pressure, wouldn't I be better off health wise instead of taking meds that cause other health issues?  Why take meds that cause blood sugars to rise which probably leads to diabetes?  At one point I was taking 3 medicines that raises blood sugars THEN I developed Diabetes.  Sounds suspicious to me.

BREAKFAST was scrambled HAPPY eggs that are organic with organic spinach.  HOT TEA with cayenne pepper.  yummers and blessed.

Drink more tea  🍵🍵🍵🍵🍵🍵🍵 and SPRING WATER.
EAT MORE vegetables, fruit and grass fed beef. 🥕🥕🥕🥕🥕🍏🍏🍏🥗🥗🥗🥗🥗🍌🍅🐄Amen.

Have a blessed day and stay well informed.

What Is The Best Tea To Buy? Health Benefits Of Tea You Never Knew!

ONCE AGAIN WHAT I THOUGHT WAS GOOD FOR ME ISN'T.  Green Tea from China is a NO-NO.  The way they prepare it isn't so good.  They heat and fry the leaves.  Not the healthiest option.  Japan steams their leaves for a better medicinal affect.  Should be drinking MATCHA TEA.

Another way to help with health issues is drinking the right kind of teas prepared a certain way.

Less caffeine comes from White teas.  Matcha teas are a super green tea better than green tea period.  Over the Summer, I got attached to Starbuck's Green Tea.  I suppose theirs comes from China.  Not sure.  Will check that out.  Many health benefits come from drinking a variety of teas.

TEAS TO FIGHT cancer, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, allergies, blood pressure, circulation, LDL cholesterol, joint pain, morning sickness, liver disease are as follows...

CANCER:  White Teas are have less caffeine and less processed tea leaves.

HEART DISEASE, TYPE 2 DIABETES, CANCER:  Matcha Teas.

ALLERGIES, BLOOD PRESSURE, CIRCULATION, LOWERING LDL CHOLESTEROL:  Rooibos Red Tea.

JOINT PAIN AND MORNING SICKNESS:  Lemon Ginger Tea.

LOWERING BLOOD PRESSURE, LIVER HEALTH:  Wild Raspberry Hibiscus.

There's some for helping with managing diabetes, cholesterol, blood pressure.  Gonna try this out.  I'll be on the hunt for some.  Oh how I like the hunt.  Adventures await me.

From another sight, it is mentioned that whole tea leaves are better than ground up tea leaves. The ground up tea leaves in a bag may come from what fell on the floor then swept up and used in the tea bags as well.

Use organic.  Because it's organic does not mean it's not sprayed with chemicals.  It means it has been sprayed with USDA organic approved sprays verses other sprays that aren't.  So if we drink store-bought teas, we probably are getting some chemicals from the teas being sprayed because the spray goes right into the leaves.  I have mint growing in the back yard.  It hasn't been sprayed with anything so this would be a very healthy plant to make tea out of.  Mint tea! I'll read up on how they suggest to dry out the leaves to make home grown teas.

I'll be sipping some,
~d

Tea Drinker

Wish I had her skinny bod-dee

This week, I'm resting and slowly getting back to cleaning our Prairie Palace.  Time to sit back and have a cup of coffee or tea.

Trying really hard to muster up the nerve to go out into the cold to pick up some meds from the Pharmacy, buy some Christmas Gift cards, and some masonite.  It's about 10 degrees here and chillin'.

Hubby said we can try to move the fridge into the KITCHEN this week-end.  That's why I have to buy some masonite.  It will be laid down on the new Kitchen tile flooring to assist moving the fridge across the tile.

You cannot even begin to believe HOW EXCITED I AM to have an actual refrigerator in my QUAINT LIL KITCHEN!!!  Since we moved the GREEN MONSTER (that came with our Prairie Palace) out of this house and replaced with our HUGE Black BOX that soon cratered, we replaced her with a WHITE FRIDGE that has sat in our Dining room since we got her.  About 4 years.  Ouch.  That hurt.

Sooooooo.....to think that my white fridge will soon be sitting in OUR KITCHEN makes me SMILE.  See my teeth?  grins.

Won't you join me for a HOT drink on this bitter cold day?

Tea For Two and Two For Tea
Green hair and all.

Welcome to my world on the Kansas Prairie.
Glad you're here.
Won't you have a cup of Tea?

I'm more of a Coffee Drinker than a Tea Totaler [sic],
but I could one day start sippin' Tea and say, "I'm onto something here and I LIKE IT!"

I love the beauty and elegance of Tea Cups and Saucers.
Dishes.
I AM A FAN.

Daughter gave me a Mz LuLu for Christmas
and I loved her so much that I kidnapped another one of her creations from a Fund Raiser.
Instead of giving her away....i kept her for myself.  Hehe.

These gals are easy to love.
Fashioned after French Rag Dolls.

The tiny cups and saucers have
Princesses on them.
We actually are royalty,
so it won't be difficult
filling those shoes and sipping from the miniature cups.

BLESSINGS.

If you could wear neon green hair....would you?
I might for one day.

We're having a PARTY.
Won't you join us?

Thanx for stopping by.
I do love hearing from you.

Sweet Blessings to you,

Pinky Up

~PINKY UP~

Lil Miss had us over for TEA.
Lil Miss is my 5 year old Grand-daughter
and she set the table with Fiestaware all by herself.
Impressive.

Her Momma was coaching her
about High Tea in the afternoons.

Tea with Creamer served along side Cherry Turn Overs,
Sausage, Cheese, Crackers,
and who could forget left over Halloween Candy.

A spot of Tea brightened our day.
We enjoyed our tea time.
All is well,
d

Having Tea With Beatrix Potter

It was a very special time to have a private setting with Actress Linda Mackey,
a member of the International Beatrix Potter Society that portrays Beatrix.
She shares events of Beatrix's day and manners techniques
that every polite young Lady should know about and exhibit.

Lil Miss actually sipped (not slurped) mint tea from a tiny tea cup.
She enjoyed it so much she had three cups of it.
Pinky finger up.

Miss Potter shares her stories and skills with large groups of children, at private parties and
one on one like we experienced this day.

Nice to know some social skills in this day and age
at Home Haven.
You just never know when Neighbors will come a callin'.

DECORATING

I knew a very frugal Lady named Edith that shared with me a excellent guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls, and the windows have nice curtains, you'll have an attractive room."

John 3:7

“Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.”

King James Version (KJV)

PSALM 118:17

I shall not die,
but live, and declare
the works of the Lord.

PROVERBS 24:3-4

By wisdom
a house is built,
and through understanding

it is established;
through
knowledge

its rooms are filled with rare

and beautiful treasures.

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.

WISHES

NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH with all your might that the something devastating that happened in your life hadn't happened and want so badly to go back in time to prevent it from happening...it isn't humanly possible to do this. You can't change the fact that it happened. IT DID. But JESUS can change the MEANING of what happened to you and give you PEACE. He can show you the way in which you are to go. God richly BLESS you. ~Deanna
