My DECORATING on the Prairie Series continues with challenges that come from plaster dust in the air that settles on everything. You know the essence of scripture that says The trying of your faith works patience. But let patience do its ultimate work too, that you may be mature and complete.
Mercy sakes.....plaster dust is maturing me.
I'm growing old really fast with this mess or should I say this mess is getting old really fast.
If plaster dust was manna from heaven...I'd be one happy camper! Plaster dust has a way of going everywhere in your house when remodeling projects involve plaster repairs. The things we do to make our HOME a nicer place. GRINS.
Places you don't want the plaster dust to go...goes and goes and goes. Best to keep a sense of humor and remember that this tooooo shall pass. Dusting and cleaning through out the house will eventually take place.

Company is coming so I had better get after it.
Staying well groomed with plaster dust in your hair is a hardening experience when taking showers. hahaha
Hubby took the week off to work on our Family room that we will be wallpapering. Repairs continue to take place.

Just have to show you the update on Family room walls. It's been slow, but finally there's progress!!!!! Hubby repaired the walls with plaster. It's been more work than expected.
AND FINALLY NICE SMOOTH WALLS
THAT ARE REPAIRED AND PAINTED WITH PRIMER.
When this room is completed........imma gonna dance
like nevva before.
This past January, we were all scrapping the walls.
What a mess this was. Last January? Yes, and if you knew that daughter and I had started taking the wallpaper down 4 and a half years ago...you might lose respect for me.
I could write a book about what has happened
during those 4 and a half years.
A book.
LIFE doesn't always go the way we plan.
Know what I mean?
Winter Fun Time.
Baby it's cold outside as we're snowed in.
We had our wallpaper selected and purchased.
Then this Spring, we were trying out paint color samples.
Watching the colors through out the day with the sunlight streaming through the windows.
The last remaining old wallpaper remnants were
stripped off the walls and plaster repairs made this Summer.
Removal of 6 layers of paper later,
Removal of 6 layers of paper later,
PRIMER has been painted on those ole walls.
WOW if I do say so myself...it looks tons better than it did.
LORD WILLING the actual wallpapering will take place late this Summer and then be left alone for 30 days before painting. After she's papered. More pics. Maybe...just maybe this room will be looking like HUMANS actually live here by CHRISTMAS. PTL.
The entire main floor of the house will have to be completely cleaned...the plaster dust goes everywhere. I mean everywhere. Lord willing...the cleaning will take place before Autumn gets here. Oh sweet Autumn.
I wish I could say that this project has not affected the thermostat of my emotional well being and home life, but it has. Thankfully, I don't get as uptight as I did when I was a much younger woman and home projects were going on. STILL... I still have feelings, but LIFE HAS TO GO ON. One of the difficult things that I have to work through is that when I have my hopes up to work on home projects...I get sick or chip a tooth or go to a doctor's appointment, we have to go out of town or something else has preference over working on the projects. LIFE.
Remodeling takes on a different spin the older I get and I sometimes wonder if the projects will come to completion.
A spiritual battle takes place and I have to pray.
Plaster has its place in the world.
Just not between the teeth.
