Attention SPRING!

SPRING....
You cannot get here FAST enough.
Your presence is requested NOW.
With the ice cold weather I have been staying inside as best I can.  Hibernation.

On her way.  Thankful.

Benjamin Moore Mocha Cream

This week-end we'll be making preparations for the workers to return to do repairs on the new ceiling as we have put off their return due to the HOLIDAYS and Birthdays.  They will return to repair some hairline cracks, patch, sand and paint the ceiling.  EVERYTHING in the Living room will have to be covered.  After this go round....we'll finish painting the stairwell area and onto the Dining room.

Benjamin Moore Baja Dunes

Have debated on the Dining room colour and think we'll stay in the same family of color for the walls in there as we used for Living room Mocha Cream.  Benjamin Moore Baja Dunes for Dining.

Was thinking about grey, but think this has morphed into a taupe instead.  Figure by SPRING/SUMMER the Dining room will be treated to a fresh coat of paint, wood work and all.  Ceiling as well.  All Benjamin Moore PAINT this time.

I used a cheaper paint in Texas and swore I would never use MARTHA STEWART PAINT AGAIN.  After it dried on the trim it turned rubbery.  Too much latex in it.  Of course this was nearly 30 years ago.  I never want to use her "IT's A Good THING" Paint again.

Before we cover the Living room blinds/shutters...I will dust them.  They haven't been dusted since they were installed last November.  I figure if I dust them seasonally that this will be what I should aim for.  This way I will have a fresh Living room and Dining room by the end of SPRING and my SPRING CLEANING will be started.

The colours we have selected are very peaceful and I like this.  Keeping it light and airy.

For now, I will keep my upstairs office the darker blue that it is.  The other rooms will stay the colours they are.  The Entry way and the breeze way between Living room and Dining will be painted later.  Not sure when.  I think I may wallpaper the Entryway with
wallpaper for texture and beauty.  Shall see.

Truly, I have more deep cleaning throughout the house to do.  Winter weather is ideal for this as I stay inside staying out of the cold.

Preparing for a COFFEE DATE late this afternoon.  Then onto good 'ole laundry.  drat.  When it's finished I'll like having the linen closet full of clean towels so it's not so bad after all.  Can you imagine washing clothing outside in this chill?  Not what I want to do.

I have been thinking a great deal about sewing a simple quilt.  After I get my office tidied the sewing can begin.  I'd like to do an AMISH looking one full of bright colours and charm.  I can do this thing.  I can.  I can.  I can.

Please don't pay attention to the statement that says Hit Share To Save on the recipe......this was a error.
Salad still delicious.

Blessings to you as you fill your day with LIFE, LIBERTY and the PURSUIT of HAPPINESS.
Turning back the clocks this week-end and we will be one day closer to SPRING!

DECORATING

I knew a very frugal Lady named Edith that shared with me a excellent guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls, and the windows have nice curtains, you'll have an attractive room."

John 3:7

Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.

King James Version (KJV)

PSALM 118:17

I shall not die,
but live, and declare
the works of the Lord.

PROVERBS 24:3-4

By wisdom
a house is built,
and through understanding

it is established;
through
knowledge

its rooms are filled with rare

and beautiful treasures.

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.

WISHES

NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH with all your might that the something devastating that happened in your life hadn't happened and want so badly to go back in time to prevent it from happening...it isn't humanly possible to do this. You can't change the fact that it happened. IT DID. But JESUS can change the MEANING of what happened to you and give you PEACE. He can show you the way in which you are to go. God richly BLESS you. ~Deanna
