Jibber Jabbering...I stepped on the scales at the Doctor's office and did my best to pretend I was somewhere else. I knew I'd tip the scales at a whopping umpteen pounds. I am on the verge of no return. My weight has sky rocketed to what a hefty football player ought to weigh.
With the meds I take, I can say good-bye to the good old days. It's ironic...I'm thankful to be alive, but am not happy about the slow weight gain that has continued to creep up on me the last 5 years since thyroid surgeries took place. I visit with my doctors about the side effects this medicine has and they look at me like I'm the first human to ever mention this aspect of weight gain. Not according to the internet or the write up on the drug that comes with the prescription itself. Hello. Please pass the corn.
Dieting is the answer. Dieting. How much rabbit food can one chic eat? The side effects from Synthroid are there. So is being hypothyroid. Right on the paper it states weight gain, excessive sweating, irritability, on and on.
I continue to read what's out there in cyberspace about how to reduce weight when on Synthroid. T4 only treatment/therapy causes problems with some. I'm one of them. Hello….and so is my husband. Two in one household. How bizarre. Please pass the corn.
I've been married to him for over 40 years
and this is the greasiest I've ever seen him.

Hubby worked on our car and got it running again after replacing the alternator. Grease is the word! Please pass the corn.
Made a teeny tiny progress this week on thinning down and going through boxes. It's almost like Christmas, 'cause I cannot remember all the stuff we have packed away. Emptied some. When the day comes that we have ORDER....I will be ancient. I went through a collapsed box that held my childhood artwork in it. Gosh…I wasn't very good, but it brought back so many memories of when I was a child. I showed my Grand daughter and together we chuckled. Please pass the corn.
My sweet Momma ended up in the Hospital before Mother's Day with bronchitis. She started having fainting spells at home and went to the doctor which told her that her oxygen levels were too low. She's another one of us Thyroid Cancer Survivors that's blood pressure goes back and forth being too high then being too low. We shall see if she gets to return HOME soon. My brother has been looking out for my Dad. Saying my prayers. Update: She returned HOME this week and will see the doctor next week. Mentioned COPD.
The weather has been ugly at night across the state of Kansas and the rest of the midwest. We've been so fortunate to have the storms go around us that our nights have been quiet. Sleeping like a baby. Hope it stays this way.
Our guest bedroom mattress arrived this past week-end. We bought from LEBEDA a full size organic cotton mattress and box springs. Next...to get her upstairs to nestle inside of the antique bed frame. Making special arrangements for her journey upstairs. Special arrangements have to be made to get certain pieces of furniture up the stairs and into the rooms. Long story short...it's just part of living in this old house. Pics to follow Please pass the corn.
Watched an entertaining movie that I had not heard of before and liked it so much I watched it again. The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio. Oh, if only there was CONTESTING NOW!!!
Can you imagine winning a car because you penned a jingle that won the hearts of the sponsors? Because this movie was set to the era of my childhood...it appealed to me.
Evelyn Ryan, the character that this movie was based on was a sweet natured lady with 10 children and not enough money to buy milk. She had a knack for jingles in which she entered contest and she won and she won and she won and won prizes, but not all was fun and games in her life. Many trials. Please pass the corn.
me to DANCE RECITAL TICKETS to
watch Lil Miss dance. Sheer delight
watching the dancers perform to a huge
array of different styles of music. Such
a pleasant evening. Great time.
Mother's Day was wonderful. I woke to my Daughter and Grand-daughter telling me HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY. Music to my ears. Hubby came in a close third with a beautiful card and a bouquet of flowers. I LOVE YOU, TOO. Lil Miss gave me a miniature white wooden basket that held a piece of candy, a wooden bracelet and a stress toy in it! Daughter blessed me with front row tickets to the theatre. Ice Cream treat to boot. Long distance phone calls from both of my Sons were music to my ears. A card in the mail from my folks. A card with TARGET GIFT CARD from Son and Daughter in law and children. I will enjoy my bouquet of flowers gift card!!! A very very nice day.
Mother's Day weather was wet, but I got to stay inside surfing the internet. Later, I picked an armload of irises that the wind and rain knocked down. Considerate Husband grilled steak and served it just right with steak sauce, baked potato with real butter and the best corn on the cob cooked in the micro-wave. Please pass the CORN.
He asked me how corn on the cob is fixed in the micro-wave...I had to refresh my memory. LIFE JUST GOT A WHOLE LOT EASIER fixing corn on the cob. Leave the corn wrapped in it's husk. No need to clean the corn at all or the silk off the cob. Place two cobs still in their husk in the micro-wave then nuke for 6 minutes.
Using a hot pad take the corn out and cut about two inches off the top part of corn, then squeeze the cob out of the greenery. Out comes a clean corn on the cob. AMAZING TASTING TOO. No mess to clean up afterwards. Please pass the corn.
It was the best.
Looking forward to this week. School will be dwindling down. Making plans for Summer fun.
Thanks for stopping by and letting me jabber away. I needed this. May you have a sweet corn week.
Oh happy day,

Genesis 41:5-7
He fell asleep and dreamed a second time; and behold, seven ears of grain came up on a single stalk, plump and good. Then behold, seven ears, thin and scorched by the east wind, sprouted up after them. The thin ears swallowed up the seven plump and full ears. Then Pharaoh awoke, and behold, it was a dream.
