Before the Snow Blows

Before the snow blows I want to think about the THANKSGIVING I had this year.   Blessed to have my CHILDREN (when i say children...my daughter-in-laws are my children as well) and GRANDCHILDREN... all HOME!!!   ALSO get to see my Parents, Brothers and Sisters, some Cousins and Aunts.  SWEET BLESSINGS....sweet sweet blessings.

We traveled to Marion, Kansas for THANKSGIVING DAY with the HELMER CLAN.

Daughter and Lil Miss drove over the night before to spend time with my Mom and Dad.

Tallman, Shell and the GrandKids drove up from Oklahoma and spent the night with my Folks.  They experienced the Oklahoma EARTHQUAKES and shared with us the excitement and thrill of being Home when the rumbling started.  After shocks and all!

Tinman, Ryna and Grandboy P drove in from Saint Louis.  Met us at Marion.  I wasn't sure they'd make it since Ryna and Baby had returned to the States on Sunday from being in Belarus.  Tinman had returned a week earlier.  So with having flown across the POND....I knew they'd be tired.  But they were here.

THANKSGIVING DAY was started out by loading up the car with tubs of decorations, our dishes and our food, then we drove an hour and a half to Marion to sit up the Lake Dining Area to accommodate 100 people to sit and dine.  Tables for Buffet Food and Desserts sat up.  Extra chairs sat up.  Tables were covered, centerpieces arranged, beverages fixed, Turkey heated up,  toilet paper in bathrooms, Kiddy Table arranged, etc.

About 75 Family Members showed up for this CELEBRATION.  Before I knew it, we were cleaning up and going Home.  The TIME goes way too fast and I don't get to visit as long as I like.

After the DINNER we stopped off at Mom and Dad's for about an hour and then drove home for CHILI NACHOS and FELLOWSHIP with our Kids and Grands.  The week-end followed.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY
GREAT THINGS HE HATH DONE

It's about people that gathered together in one place for fellowship and food.
Saying a Prayer of Blessings and Thanksgiving.... then eating.
Talking, showing pictures and taking pictures.
Much to be THANKFUL for.

The memories I have from Family-Get-Togethers goes way back in my memory bank.  Earliest memory is of when I was a girl of about 6 and meeting at the Lake Building that was long and narrow with hard wood floors and an old upright piano that we played.  It would be horribly cold outside, but we children would play hide and seek in our Winter coats after we ate all that we wanted.  The cold wasn't so cold when we were laughing and enjoying running.

The years would pass and time marched on.

If we met at Gramma Helmer's tiny house we'd all fit in and enjoy the company of Family.  Grandma had baked all day and there'd be Homemade food on the table waiting for us because she knew what it was like to go hungry and there not be enough to eat.  Her LOVE LANGUAGE was food to serve and see us satisfied with full tummies.

I miss these days when my cousins were young like my own Grandchildren.

Thank you God for these wonderful and heartfelt memories.
I am THANKFUL you allowed me to have them.

Here's to making new and great memories as time continues to march on.

DECORATING

I knew a very frugal Lady named Edith that shared with me a excellent guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls, and the windows have nice curtains, you'll have an attractive room."

John 3:7

Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.

King James Version (KJV)

PSALM 118:17

I shall not die,
but live, and declare
the works of the Lord.

PROVERBS 24:3-4

By wisdom
a house is built,
and through understanding

it is established;
through
knowledge

its rooms are filled with rare

and beautiful treasures.

SALVATION

Romans 10:9 King James Version (KJV)

BLOSSOM WHERE YOU ARE PLANTED
As long as I live, I will have to continually submit to God's plan for my life. You will be blessed because you turned your life over to God. Be confessing how good God is and tell Him you agree with who He says He is. BELIEVE and watch miracles happen. Be not afraid. ~Deanna

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.

WISHES

NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH with all your might that the something devastating that happened in your life hadn't happened and want so badly to go back in time to prevent it from happening...it isn't humanly possible to do this. You can't change the fact that it happened. IT DID. But JESUS can change the MEANING of what happened to you and give you PEACE. He can show you the way in which you are to go. God richly BLESS you. ~Deanna
