TIS RARE TO WAKE REMEMBERING A DREAM. This morning, I woke while dreaming and could recall the dream I was having. It wasn't a good one. If I dwell too long on it believing taking it as truth, it will upset the apple cart. I'll have to mark it up as to being anxious about what I would do if.....
This one isn't worth remembering. Have you ever got stuck on a thought that caused you to spiral downwards into a rut you couldn't manage to get out of for hours? I have and allowed myself to entertain the thought so it became a full blown nightmare. These thoughts can become destructive and emotionally draining. I'm not going to go there today with this dream I had this morning. BE GONE.
It isn't about what I had to eat last night or didn't have to eat. It's not gas or heartburn. Not guilt, bitterness, hurt. No drug withdrawal or overdose. So what was it? BE GONE.
I can relate to being anxious without knowing to call it this. This dream was not productive and instead of helping me deal with anxiety, it caused more. Not a good thing. I sometimes wonder if I want to be upset? Sometimes being upset is an addiction that we want to live with. It becomes a safety zone to dwell in. It isn't pleasant, but it is familiar. If we stay in this zone, we don't have to move on. We can just stay upset and that is what we know. The unknown can be scary, so to stay in the familiar discomfort zone is more comforting than moving on to something different. This isn't healthy or good. Staying put.
This isn't helping with the reality of what lies ahead or with what I have to do today. No need to overthink this one. I have much to do.
