Juicy Meat Loaf From The Eisenhower Kitchen

Recently we took a short 15 minute tour
of President Eisenhower's Childhood Home
at the Presidential Library and Museum in Abilene.

~Juicy Meat Loaf~
This easily could have been baking in Mrs. Ida Eisenhower's Kitchen back in the day when she was feeding her large family.  PRESIDENT EISENHOWER's Mom was small in stature, but could be found taking care of domestic chores and cooking.  When she were outside sweeping the porch, she'd simply slip into the house to avoid Reporters.

President Eisenhower surely ate well in his childhood home
shared with so many brothers.

Juicy Meat Loaf Recipe

My personal Meatloaf story
goes something like this...
The second year Daughter and I entered the PAXICO Meatloaf Contest, we entered a cold meatloaf which was a back-up if the one fixed on the actual day of the contest flopped.
The hot one flopped so I pulled the back-up out of the fridge.
A picnic theme with plastic ants and all.

One of the Judges commented COLD MEATLOAF?
Judge wasn't excited to eat COLD MEATLOAF,
but I did all the time as a kid.  Mom would make Meatloaf Sandwiches.  You can read that Momma Eisenhower's recipe mentions serve hot or cold.

I guess I've ate like presidential royalty.
Have you?

One can no longer go into the Kitchen,
but view by mirror outside the Dining room.  Tiny, but adequate.
Do you ever get the idea that we are spoiled with such large Kitchens?

A Bedroom was turned into a modern Bathroom
off of the Dining room.

 Off we went.

Good Bye for now,

Come Sit With Me

Needing a quiet moment to gather my thoughts.
We're all wired differently.
Some people are just fine in silence and some cannot tolerate it.

Thriving off of the quiet,
I have the atmosphere for thinking things through.

As I look out the window,
AUTUMN
is here with tree leaves falling to the ground.
Twirling downwards.
OCTOBER is nearly here.

Autumn cleaning has begun and that's that.
If I ever get to where I need to be, it will be along time in the coming.

BLESSINGS TO YOU!
Glad you stopped by.

Visit With Sis

SUMMER 2015

My Dear Sister came for a SUMMER visit,
stayed a week and went back to Iowaaaay.  Time flew as we stayed busy. We've done this for 20 years.  She was the first to sleep in our newly painted Guest room with the new mattress on Grandma's Bedroom Suite.  THINKING about our time together.  It's like she was never here.  PINCH ME.  The pictures help me to remember.

Spent time together.

Elvis was in the house.
TIME FOR A DUO.
They made beautiful music together.
We shopped till we dropped and our Mom went with us on one of those days.
Stopped by to see Hubby hard at work.

MORE time at the Mall for pretzels and cheese.
A yearly favorite.

Went all the way to Old Chicago
for a salad.  I was a good girl.  Ate Salad.

Abilene
Also went to Abilene's Brookville Hotel for a Family style Chicken Meal to celebrate Sis's retirement.  Visited the Eisenhower Park and Eisenhower Museum, childhood home, Library and Chapel.

One of those times that if I hadn't had my lil battery operated  fan that I wear around my neck, I would have been taken over by the heat.  My body temperature doesn't properly regulate like a NORMAL person with a thyroid.  This makes doing things more challenging.  Not easy to go through, but do.

Besides eating well, having fancy coffees and chatting away...
I learned a great deal about life.
At 60, I'm still a student about human nature.
BLESSINGS 2 u.

DECORATING

I knew a very frugal Lady named Edith that shared with me a excellent guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls, and the windows have nice curtains, you'll have an attractive room."

John 3:7

Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.

King James Version (KJV)

PSALM 118:17

I shall not die,
but live, and declare
the works of the Lord.

PROVERBS 24:3-4

By wisdom
a house is built,
and through understanding

it is established;
through
knowledge

its rooms are filled with rare

and beautiful treasures.

BLOSSOM WHERE YOU ARE PLANTED
As long as I live, I will have to continually submit to God's plan for my life. You will be blessed because you turned your life over to God. Be confessing how good God is and tell Him you agree with who He says He is. BELIEVE and watch miracles happen. Be not afraid. ~Deanna

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.

WISHES

NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH with all your might that the something devastating that happened in your life hadn't happened and want so badly to go back in time to prevent it from happening...it isn't humanly possible to do this. You can't change the fact that it happened. IT DID. But JESUS can change the MEANING of what happened to you and give you PEACE. He can show you the way in which you are to go. God richly BLESS you. ~Deanna
