GOSH, that BANANA SMOOTHIE was easy enough and so quick to make. I'm to have bananas today to help with my potassium levels. I poured 1 cup of unsweetened Almond Milk in the blender then added three organic bananas. Pushed the smoothie button and away she roared.
When I tasted the smoothie, it was pretty good, but to stretch it out to make more to drink, I added a cup of SPRING WATER and whirled again. This thinned the smoothie out some. Still tasted very good. Sipping hoping to stretch this meal out for an hour and I believe I will make that happen. No gobbling it down.
I started out my FOOD PROGRAM today with a cup of cooked green beans and HOT MACHA TEA. A different kind of Breakfast. Lunch is my Banana Smoothie. I'll have Banana Pudding for evening snack because Supper will be another Spring Green Salad sprinkled with diced nuts and a little salad dressing. Sounds good enough to eat, doesn't it?
Here it is WEDNESDAY, middle of the week. I'm taking it easier today since I put in a very hectic few days this week. I'll be working at packing some boxes this afternoon and evening squeezing in some spa time as I need to wash my hair and set it. It'll air dry which is easier on one's hair compared to using a hair dryer.
OFF AND ON, I fill a cardboard packing BOX. The boxes are here, there, and everywhere. Gotta make progress on this each day.
Packing a few things as I go like these lovely dessert plates.
Yesterday, I went through some of the CHRISTMAS tubs at the COTTAGE and shook my head. I have started round three in thinning out these HOLIDAY treasures. I can't get rid of my nutcrackers. I can't get rid of my Hallmark Ornaments. I don't want to get rid of the greenery or the angels nor the NATIVITY SCENE. If I repack the items super tight, it will help. I saw a few things I can turn loose of. A few things. The challenge continues.
I went through a Houston, Texas MOTHERS CLUB COOK BOOK from the club I belonged to that I have had since 1990 and tore out the recipes that I will keep then I pitched the book. It was falling apart. I'll place the paper print-outs in a binder for recipes that I am keeping. Seems unreal that this book is 33 years old. Unreal. When I thumbed through the book, I remembered some of the ladies as if it were yesterday. Lost track with all of them.
I came across My Dad's FAVORITE RECIPES COOK BOOK that I will transfer to a binder. I wish it had been dated. It only took a few minutes to place the pages in sheet protectors then place in a binder. Tadaah. She looks great. The cover sheet was created by him on his computer years ago. Makes me smile thinking about him.
The other day I was thinking about sugar cookies and couldn't find my recipe for them. There they were! There's an awesome SUGAR COOKIE RECIPE in Dad's Recipe Book. I like fixing these for this HOLIDAY.
Shredding hundreds of letters that were email print outs from over 20 years ago wore me out. Needed a break. LONGing for the day when I am caught up on all this paper work like I use to be. The old Deanna had ORDER. I kept everything. Now to dispose of much is taking a chunk of time to get through. The years after the house fire took a toll on me. Still putting my nose to the grind. I kept a few and shredded the rest.
This took me down memory lane again which works me over emotionally. I finished the shredding and took a deep breath when I said, "DONE!" That felt good, but when I think I am further along than I was, why do I FEEL so bad being further along? Shouldn't I feel better than this? I know I have so much more to do that I can't seem to feel the pleasure of having come thus far. Gotta work on that. This is a flaw that isn't healthy.
The Dining room table at the main house is still covered with CHRISTMAS CHEER. Working on that today. The drive to get this stuff put away is revving up. In a way that's good. I do have some wrapping to do then I will box up the gifts and be ready for CHRISTMAS 2023 which is 11 months away. grins.
69 DAYS until SPRING!!! This soaked in and boy it lifts my spirits. Flowers will begin to pop up through the ground and I LOVE THIS!!! I have some landscaping clean-up to do over at the COTTAGE. I hope to see the LILAC BUSH in bloom this year as I was away last year. One of my FAVORITE BUSHES is the LILAC BUSH. Out the COTTAGE's Kitchen window is a large bush and I will enjoy looking at it while I wash dishes.
Back to the grind, my smoothie is just about gone and packing the boxes won't pack themselves.
Praying for strength,
~d
