I'M REAL

I'M REAL!  MY 68th BIRTHDAY IS FAST APPROACHING and I wanted to renew my driver's license with REAL ID.  What a ride getting this accomplished on Tuesday. Heat was up and anytime the heat is up in TOPEKA causes additional challenges for an old woman like me.  Looking back, I really did pretty good for temps in the 90s.  Usually I don't do very well when it hits 80 degrees.  Today, I managed well.  That's a blessing as I had much to do.

Gathering the papers I thought would be helpful before I left the house, Hubby found one of my old issued social security cards which had my signature on it in our metal boxes which holds yellow envelopes containing important papers that I had fortunately labeled.   This might propose a problem as it had my first name, my maiden name for middle name and my married name.  Deanna, maiden name, last name.  I have been using my middle initial F. instead of my maiden name as a legal name.

We thought it best to go to the Social Security Office first to see if I needed to do something concerning this oops.  They helped me and applied for a new card with my first name, middle name, maiden name and married name altogether.

Off we went into the heat of the day sweating to the Vital Statistics Building to get a copy of my birth certificate not knowing I'd be back later to get a copy of my marriage license.  Used quarters to pay the parking meter.  She was hungry.  Finished up and walked out with my copy.

I had a 4:15 appointment at the Driver's License Office, but thought we'd go early and chance it as a walk-in just in case we could get in earlier.  When I reached to desk to ask about being a walk-in instead of having an appointment for getting a REAL ID, the young man asked me if I had all the papers in which I find out that I needed proof that my name had changed since the birth certificate.  I didn't know this was required.  A marriage license was needed.  Back I go to get it.

First I needed to buy quarters from the bank for that stinky parking meter.  I didn't think we'd have enough time to make it back to the Drivers License place at 4:15 due to the distance to the Vital Stats to print off a marriage license for me.

Once we made it to the Vital Stats place and I paid for the copy, I had to wait and the clerk helping me came out into the lobby to help some people who were having trouble with the kiosk. My wait took a while and I thought for sure I'd just have to come back on a different day to get my driver's license from a different location.  The appointment slots in Manhattan are filled until next week.  I had hoped I could do all of this in Topeka.

Hubby drove dropping me off at the door at 4:10.  I made it!  There was very little wait and the gentleman checked me in and took care of my REAL ID/Driver's License.  I walked out of there in under 10 minutes.  That seemed almost too easy once I made it to the clerk.  Relieved.

My back was all sweaty from the heat and being on the run.  It was a relief that it all came together.  I was thirsty and ready to shop God's Storehouse.  A relaxing time at the shoppe on Senior Discount Day.

I purchased 2 pair of cute earrings.  A mid-century chromium coffee serving pot with sugar and creamer, a couple of spring/summer blouses and 2 Princess House glass storage containers with plastic tops.  Hubby bought two movies for entertainment.  We watched one thriller last night for pennies.

Stopped by my daughter's on the way HOME as she said she had a love gift for me.  Some apricot preserves she had made and a get well card.  She's a blessing to me and so is her family.

I drove HOME and we ate a McDonald's supper.  I was hungry for one of their hamburgers.  If I eat at McDonald's twice a year, can my body handle it?

When I got HOME, I checked my lab results in the health portal and like I had thought my Vitamin D level is LOW.  My A1c wasn't too bad.  A little higher than 6 months ago, but not by much.  My lipids are higher than the range, but in comparison through the years, the bad cholesterols are lowering and the good cholesterol are raising.  That's an improvement.  PTL.  So I will go see my physician later discussing the labs and I have a few questions about medicine, etc.

I noticed on my phone ID caller that my cancer doctor had tried reaching me twice while I was gone for the day.  Not sure what that's about, but it's a concern.

Today, I'll be packing boxes and moving them to storage.  With all that's going on, I have moments where I am overwhelmed and need to have a big boo-hoo session to cleanse the emotion's tank.  It is getting to me at times.  I can tell I'm more short tempered as of late.

Downsizing, shredding old papers, remodeling, packing boxes, moving them to storage, Cancer looming over my head, surgery scheduled, fatigued, being obese, messes about, just wanting to chill.  Need and WANT A VACATION.

I'm REAL as a human and I can officially now say I am REAL with a Driver's license with REAL ID.  I can enter Federal Buildings and fly if need to AND continue to drive automobiles.  I didn't lie about my weight on the driver's license.  Wished it were less, but hey, I'm REAL.

DECORATING

I knew a very frugal Lady named Edith that shared with me a excellent guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls, and the windows have nice curtains, you'll have an attractive room."

John 3:7

“Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.”

King James Version (KJV)

PSALM 118:17

I shall not die,
but live, and declare
the works of the Lord.

PROVERBS 24:3-4

By wisdom
a house is built,
and through understanding

it is established;
through
knowledge

its rooms are filled with rare

and beautiful treasures.

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.

WISHES

NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH with all your might that the something devastating that happened in your life hadn't happened and want so badly to go back in time to prevent it from happening...it isn't humanly possible to do this. You can't change the fact that it happened. IT DID. But JESUS can change the MEANING of what happened to you and give you PEACE. He can show you the way in which you are to go. God richly BLESS you. ~Deanna
