charlie brown christmas

~AINT SHE LOVELY~

~CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS~

......actually we had a very pleasant Christmas.
I'll be reminiscing this January.

To get the Christmas Tree out of the Family room, Hunny pruned the tree so it could be easily carried outside and disposed of.  The Frasier Fur still had a refreshing fragrance.  Pine needles were sprinkled in the flower beds to help keep stray kitties out of them for their toilet.  Litter box deluxe.
I love cats, but there's an abundance of strays in our neighborhood
and they just love our flower beds.

Christmas decorations almost all put away.  PTL.

Have a wonderful year!

~doesn't he make it look easy~

keeping it simple

This year I hope to forge ahead
with de-cluttering the house.
Eat more salad.
Drink more water.
Wall paper the family room.
Thin out my clothing.
Write a book.
Stitch some curtains.
Communicate more with family.

Keeping it simple.

3 days till Christmas..........

As I mailed my Christmas cards today, my Christmas shopping was done and '2 days before Christmas' I can prepare for my Husband's Saturday birthday and Christmas on Sunday!  It seems that each year I say to myself, I'll begin earlier next year....and it seems that I'm not.  Gee.

Welcoming the first full day of Winter, I wore a Christmas Sweater and ho ho hoed it all day by believing I need to make each day as pleasant as possible and enjoy the 'in the now'

I went out of town today.  Had a sonogram, ate lunch, put stamps on the envelopes of Christmas Cards, went to Doctor's Appointment receiving great news, grabbed some McDonald's premium roasted Coffee for a buck, went to Hobby Lobby, went to the Pharmacy, dropped off Christmas Cards at the Post Office, and then suggested that we go to see what's on at the discounted Movie Theater.

The animated movie Puss 'n Boots was showing.  So we went.  Afterwards we drove through the Potwin Place District to view the Christmas Lights.  It was like a Fairy Tale.  Drove the distance HOME.  Tired now and will make out my grocery list in the morning.

My Doctor's Appointment went well and I prayed for a truthful CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH.  My Doctor said my tumor marker is where he likes it to be and it was the bestest of the best.  I'm still letting this all soak in.  Praise God.  Praise God from whom all blessings flow.  Praise God.  Next appointment in 6 months.  Back at it again in 6 months.

Gave it some thought as to what I'd like to buy at the After Christmas Sales.

LORD willing, I'll be here in a year and I will deck the Halls.

We have company coming for the week-end.  Hubs and I need to set a bed up in the Parlour because one of the Guest cannot climb the stairs to a bedroom.  Much to do on Friday.  Lord give us strength.

Please have a wonderful week-end!  If I don't visit with you before Christmas,  know that I'm thinking about you and praying that you have a very Merry Christmas knowing that Jesus is the reason for the season.

Stress be gone.

over the week-end we made a quick trip to oklahoma to deliver presents to family.
had a nice visit.
on the way home we stopped off and toured a Christmas exhibit of 150 years of Christmas.
loved it and will share pics later.

this saturday is my hubby's 57th birthday.....i hope i can find a sugar-free cake this year.

AWAY IN A MANGER

~AWAY IN A MANGER~

1.   Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,  The little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head;  The stairs in the sky looked down where He lay,  The little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay.

2.   The cattle are lowing, the Baby awakes, But little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes;  I love Thee Lord Jesus!  look down from the sky,  And stay by my cradle till morning is nigh.

3.   Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay   Close by me forever, and love me, I pray;  Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care, And fit us for heaven, to live with Thee there.

Merry Christmas!!!

CHRISTMAS WREATHS

Beautiful, beautiful Wreaths are everywhere!

In the Stores, on the windows, inside and out.
In people's Homes and Offices.
In and out of Churches....you name it......you'll see Wreaths all decked out and beautifying the environment.
So pretty and meaningful.  So many items on them to personalize them and call your own.
Fantastic ideas to bring Home and use in your own space.

One of these days I will hang wreaths on each interior door of my HOME with the over the door hangers.
I'd like to have more on the exterior of my HOUSE.

~Exterior Frasier Fir Wreath~

Frasier Wreath made from Christmas Tree branch clippings attached to metal circle frame
hangs on HOME HAVEN Conservatory Bump Out Window.

AFTER reading on the net about wreaths I thought the
info found would make for a nice post for this time of year.
Here goes...........

The word wreath is linked to the word wrist with both terms forming a continuous physical circular shape.  Wrethe, meaning twist band or ring of leaves or flowers in a garland.
Eternal Life, no beginning, no end.

There are two categories of Christmas Wreaths.
DECORATIVE and the Advent Wreath.

 ~Decorative wreath on HOME HAVEN~

Wreaths are used typically as CHRISTMAS decor
to celebrate the birth of CHRIST

CIRCLE wreath is a never ending ring, a reminder of eternal love from our LORD and KING.
A SIGN of WELCOME, inviting all to enter in - reminder of Christ's invitation for all to come to HIM.

In Christmas, wreaths are used to prepare for the Advent Season or the coming of Christ.  First known association with these now modern day wreaths dates back to the 16th Century Lutherans in Germany.

Christians kept these popular traditions alive, and by the 16th Century Catholics and Protestants throughout Germany used these symbols to celebrate their Advent Hope in Christ, the everlasting Light.  From Germany the use of the Advent wreath spread to other parts of the Christian worlds.  Traditionally the wreath is made of 4 candles in a circle of evergreens with a candle in the middle.

The origins of the Advent wreath are found in the folk practices of the pre-christian Germanic peoples who, during the cold December darkness of Eastern Europe, gathered wreaths of evergreen and lighted fires as signs of hope in a coming spring and renewed  light.

In 1839, Johann Hinrich Wichern used a wreath made from a cart wheel to educate children about the meaning and purpose of Christmas, as well as to help them count its approach.  For every Sunday of Advent, starting with the 4th Sunday before Christmas, he would put a white candle in the wreath and for every day in between he would use a red one.

The Advent wreath is constructed of evergreen to represent everlasting life brought through Jesus and the circular shape of the wreath represents GOD with no beginning and no end.

The Advent wreath is now a popular symbol in preparation for the coming of Christ, to mark the beginning of the Christian Church's year and as decor during the Christmas festivities.

Now Decorative Wreaths are for every Season and Occasion
made out of a variety of materials.

Have a HapPY Holiday and God richly Bless you!

A sweet Poem by Holley Gerth

Every Christmas is more than a decoration.
It's a special reminder of Jesus,
the reason for our celebration.

The circle of a Christmas wreath is never ending ring.
A reminder of eternal love from our Lord and King.
The Christmas wreath is a sign
of welcome, inviting all to enter in...a reminder of Christ's invitation for all to come to Him.

The middle of a Christmas wreath is bare and empty space,
a reminder of what life would be without Christ's love and grace.

So each time you see a Christmas wreath hanging from a door,
may your heart rejoice in the ones that Christmas is truly for.

'Life Just Got A Little Easier' CHRISTMAS Decorating

'Life Just Got A Little Easier'
DECORATING for CHRISTMAS

Hallelujah!
I need easier!

Placing Christmas Ornaments in glass containers is easy as can be and quick to boot.

Home Haven looked festive when Flower Vases of various heights and a lidded Candy Dish were grouped together and filled with round Christmas Ornaments.

This is also an inexpensive touch for your Dining Room Table's Centerpiece.

Nice idea to add a bit of Christmas Cheer to areas of your Home.

May you have a sweet Holiday Season
and a very Merry Christmas!
God Bless,
~Deanna~

out the window

~AUTUMN REMEMBERED~

On one of those days before all of the leaves were off the trees,
we saw a black squirrel out the window.

Seems out of character...usually there are brown squirrels not black.
This one makes its home across the street from us.

DECORATING

I knew a very frugal Lady named Edith that shared with me a excellent guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls, and the windows have nice curtains, you'll have an attractive room."

John 3:7

Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.

King James Version (KJV)

PSALM 118:17

I shall not die,
but live, and declare
the works of the Lord.

PROVERBS 24:3-4

By wisdom
a house is built,
and through understanding

it is established;
through
knowledge

its rooms are filled with rare

and beautiful treasures.

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.

WISHES

NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH with all your might that the something devastating that happened in your life hadn't happened and want so badly to go back in time to prevent it from happening...it isn't humanly possible to do this. You can't change the fact that it happened. IT DID. But JESUS can change the MEANING of what happened to you and give you PEACE. He can show you the way in which you are to go. God richly BLESS you. ~Deanna
