FAUX DAFFODILS

TO BRIGHTEN UP THE FRONT PORCH, I planted bright yellow faux daffodils. Real ones are far prettier, but this will have to do.  I went on the hunt for faux tulips last week and none were to be found so I had to switch my direction going with daffs.  They were priced half off so that helped with the pocket book, but still they were not tulips.  Bright yellow makes for a cheery statement.  Not sure how they will weather.  Actual daffodils are starting to show in the area.  First signs of SPRING in MARCH.

YARD WORK is staring me in the face.  A little here and a little there just isn't enough to stay on top of the lawn.

Needing to go check out my large box of faux flowers in the basement to see if I can add to the daffodils I planted in the urns.  If there isn't any flowers that will work then I may have to go purchase a few more faux flowers to fill in the urns.

Waking early this morning, I started a load of laundry.  Tidying the kitchen countertops.  The Kitchen is crowded with moving boxes making it a tad bit of a challenge to move about freely. Today, I'll load some boxes up to take to the COTTAGE so I can continue filling the cabinets. Yesterday, I managed to load some boxes to take over.  Too heavy to carry with ease.  I managed, but it was difficult.  After I got over to the COTTAGE my dear husband helped carry them inside as he was already over there working on laying tile in the bathroom closet.

I filled the car with donation items in which I will take to GOODWILL this morning.  Yesterday I was too tired to do this after the day I had.  Tomorrow sounded like a better plan.  I'd like to get this out of the way early this Monday morning.

How does my day look?  Laundry worked on.  Thrift items dropped off.  Purchase some silver polish to polish champagne bucket that I use to hold large cooking utensils.  Polish it and pack it for the move.  Hair shampooed and air dried.  More laundry.  Load up the car with Kitchen items to go to the COTTAGE.  Paperwork.  Tidy on house.  Pack pantry items to go.  Fixed supper. Dishes washed.  REST.  That will more than likely be my MONDAY.

ALERT:  SCRATCH TODAY's PLANS.  The miniature washing machine malfunctioned to where the water that is suppose to drain into the KITCHEN sink decided to empty itself all over the KITCHEN floor which is covered with packing boxes full of Kitchen items.

Mopping up the water and vowing this is the last load to be washed in this house.  The machine can be wheeled out to the CARRIAGE HOUSE and left there.  I will start using the COTTAGE washer and dryer as of this day.  I'm done.  Since Co vid I have been using this small machine and as of today, it's retired.  No more mopping up the water it decides to pour onto the floor. The drain hose flopped out of the sink even though I had it secured.  I think of all days this is not a good day for a KITCHEN FLOOD.  Hello MONDAY.

TOUGHEN UP BUTTERCUP.  I had better not let this get to me.  After 8 weeks of having messes about me with packing going on, I popped a cork.  I'm sure my husband saw steam coming from my ears.

So many times when I make plans they are challenged.  Go with the flow and stay flexible.  I'm human and have to adjust to not getting my way.  Did I say the faux daffodils looked cheery?  I had better go look at them again as I need some cheering up.

A SPLASH OF YELLOW

TIS  -1 outside.  I sit here figuring my day and what I need to accomplish.  Buy a box of chocolates from the store so I can wrap it then mail it for my dear Mom.  I can't put this off even with it being so cold.  The windshield of the car needs cleaned off and the car warmed up.

Just a few more minutes here before going out to get the car ready.  To the store, buzz by the phone office to pay the monthly bill, back HOME to wrap the candy and then a quick trip to the Post Office to mail it.

By then, this old woman will need to warm up and sits a bit before watching the Senate Impeachment trial.  Not sure how much I will watch.  History in the making.

After the Valentines are all in the mail, I will relax.  It seems like adrenaline gets to pumping to prep me to jump into action.

Valentine's Day is SUNDAY.  What shall we do to celebrate our love for one another?  I have my card for my special someone ready, but need to do something extra special.  A meal.  A small gift of appreciation.  A special coffee and slice of banana bread...which he really likes.  Okay.  That's a wrap.  We're suppose to get more snow next week-end so the roads may not allow a trip to the Starbucks until later.

ONE DAY CLOSER TO SPRING!  This is how I view Winter.  One day closer to Spring.  Ready to see those early season flowers.

The early Spring flowers will pop through the ground!  Makes me smile just thinking about it.  When do we plant daffodils in this part of Kansas?  The FALL.  Next Autumn, I will plant bunches of daffodils out front.  Pencil this in on the calendar.  Next AUTUMN...daffs to plant!

THIS SPRING I will admire others that are in their yards and in the parks.  Bunches of flowers amongst the Tulips.

Such a lovely sight this will be.

God richly BLESS you,

💜d

Daffodils

Slightly up the hill from where I live, the elderly neighbor's daffodils have bloomed in a magnificent way.  Took me by surprise that her flowers are advanced.  Full of beautiful yellow blooms similar to this picture.  She knows her flowers and uses old folklore that works.

Our daffodil greens are sprouting upwards with no noticeable buds as of yet.  If I compare between mine and Eloise's, mine are in their infancy and hers are as they should be in SPRING.

Seems odd that our SPRING has arrived so early compared to what my childhood memories reveal to me.  SPRING with flowers in bloom usually comes in April.  Why so early?  A sign of the times. Earlier SPRINGs with all seasons changing a tad bit through out the calendar year.

Not sure when our daffs will bloom, but alongside them are tulip leaves which are a welcoming sight and well received by one that grieves the WINTER's starkness.  Like a little kid being excited that it's Christmas morn with presents under the Christmas tree, I tend to get giddy that SPRING flowers have sprung.

This week-end morphs into a Spring-like Monday.
Earlier than usual Spring-like Blessings to you,
d

DECORATING

I knew a very frugal Lady named Edith that shared with me a excellent guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls, and the windows have nice curtains, you'll have an attractive room."

John 3:7

“Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.”

King James Version (KJV)

PSALM 118:17

I shall not die,
but live, and declare
the works of the Lord.

PROVERBS 24:3-4

By wisdom
a house is built,
and through understanding

it is established;
through
knowledge

its rooms are filled with rare

and beautiful treasures.

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.

WISHES

NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH with all your might that the something devastating that happened in your life hadn't happened and want so badly to go back in time to prevent it from happening...it isn't humanly possible to do this. You can't change the fact that it happened. IT DID. But JESUS can change the MEANING of what happened to you and give you PEACE. He can show you the way in which you are to go. God richly BLESS you. ~Deanna
