IS IT THE WEEK-END YET??? It was a two lipstick kind of day.
UP EARLY AND ON THE ROAD TO TOPEKA FOR MY HUSBAND's FRIDAY MEDICAL APPOINTMENT. Follow-up on his emergency eye surgery he had last April. He's coming right along and was given a GOOD REPORT. See ya in 6 months.
TODAY WAS A VERY BUSY DAY FOR ME. Slow paced, but busy. I was rather hungry after his appointment so I went straight to STARBUCKS for a UNSWEETENED Green Iced Tea plus we split a Egg White Roasted Red Pepper EGG Bite with hubby. THOUGHT IT WAS PRETTY GOOD and I'll get another one in the future.
Lost track of where we went. JoAnn for more ribbon to make bows for the front door wreaths, Orscheln Farm & Home to look around, Chinese Restaurant for LUNCH, Capitol Federal banking, God's Storehouse to browse in which I found a couple of lovely pastel colored quilts for the Victorian bed and a Emily Post's 1937 book ETIQUETTE, Wal-Mart for supplies buying some lipstick and shoe inserts, Target looking for large paper clips...found that coral colored lipstick I was craving, Office Max for large paper clips, Starbucks to cool off our hot afternoon weather, Menards for bottled water, popcorn salt, popcorn in a bag and home repair supplies, Aldi for Three Bean Salad, Sams for fuel...HOME to unload and eat supper. AM TIRED. Is it the week-end yet?
| Two pastel colored quilts to adopt into our inventory of bedding. |
I was thrilled to get a copy of EMILY POST's ETIQUETTE book. Back in her hey day she was respected by many and her advice rang true. The ETIQUETTE book has black and white plates instead of colored ones, but that's alright I can dream anyhow. I'm not sure I can follow all of the advice, but think the $3 I spent on this hardback copy will provide hours of entertainment.
| The blue book is thick and full of valuable advice to think about even in the year 2022. |
MY FEET HURT TONIGHT. Ouch. Feet up and relax. I put in a busy day and got much done. Painting this week-end on the Kitchen cabinet that has been primed and sanded. More wonderful paper to go through to keep, file or shred. Whalaah one of these days I will get to say, She's DONE!. Hallelujah and a half.
I have every intention of eating Three Bean Salad on a bed of lettuce for some meals. LOW CAL. I need all the help I can get as I have a huge appetite. I have to be PRO-ACTIVE when dealing with food intake. I have to watch it. Remind myself to eat slower, smaller bites, chew more than I usually do, less grains, less dairy, less SUGAR. Less is the new more. grins.
As we drove across the PRAIRIE, we'd see much road construction with some of the KANSAS LANDSCAPE trees starting to turn slightly yellow and orange. Means AUTUMN isn't far behind. I'm okay with AUTUMN WREATHS on the front doors now. I'll be making two bows to high light them as they need additional color to make the wreaths POP.
GOSH, the week flew as last week-end we made our way to OKLAHOMA for a grandson's 8th Birthday party and here it is FRIDAY again. This week flew. May this week-end be a blessing. One grandson got his driver's permit. FOOTBALL starts for one and CROSS COUNTRY for a grand-daughter. A new job starts for a grand-daughter. Three other grandsons will begin SOCCER. Life doesn't slow down because I am tired. Life has to slow down because I took a nap or read a magazine in the leisure of my HOME.
HOME should be a place to kick your shoes off and go ahhhhh. A HAVEN away from the hustle and bustle of too much noise and too many activities. SOME TIME UNDER A SHADE TREE would be appreciated where no one is around, but some characters in a book. No threats and no hurry.
Several movies were watched this week which I thought were alright. 2022 TOP GUN: MAVERICK and the 2014 movie ELSA AND FRED.
ELSA AND FRED
I may have to take it slow this week-end as I have been on the go. Know what I mean, Vern?

Granny Nanny and The Girls
From a Grandma's point of view, I look at things differently these days. On certain days a little make-up like lipstick makes me a Happy Woman. On this particular day, Daughter allowed her little girl to fix momma's face up plus doll up her own eyes like flowers.
Please pass the Lipstick.......i feel like going to town.
Love you girls. You're on your own!
Glam On.
I'm smiling,
~Granny Nanny~

BLOSSOM WHERE YOU ARE PLANTED
As long as I live, I will have to continually submit to God's plan for my life. You will be blessed because you turned your life over to God. Be confessing how good God is and tell Him you agree with who He says He is. BELIEVE and watch miracles happen. Be not afraid. ~Deanna

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.
