As we gathered as a Family,
I took pictures of some pictures.
Thought they turned out alright.
Glad to have these images.
My Family is dear to me.
My upbringing was solid and well defined.
I didn't have to guess who my Folks were
or if I had brothers and sisters. I knew.
I grew up in a Christian Home third of four children
to hard working Parents where God was respected.
to hard working Parents where God was respected.
Where Mom and Dad took pride in their home,
family and work.
We were well groomed and taken care of.
I felt safe and loved.
My Childhood was grand.
I was allowed to be a child.
I never went hungry or naked.
I was never abused or belittled.
I was encouraged to be Deanna and no one else.
I was taught right from wrong.
I grew up in a middle class American Family.
I was physically taken to Church and taught how to pray
and who I was praying to.
We bowed our heads to pray to Almighty God.
We respected God and His ways.
I was encouraged to use my talents,
play outside in the backyard,
draw, sew, sing, play an instrument, cheer,
twirl, dance, exercise, cook, bake, wash dishes,
make pizza, make cookies, dress baby dolls, curl my hair,
decorate, write, take pictures, be kind, be responsible,
be honest, speak my mind, have manners,
do well in school, laugh, save money, share.
Thankful for my upbringing,
~d~
