HERE I SIT ALL BROKEN HEARTED.....there's more to this rhyme, but I'm not going in that direction, if you know what I mean. I woke up feeling really good and ended up doing a lot of chores. I rested and then started at it again working in the JUNK ROOM. It felt great to stay HOME and work.
I made another dent in the JUNK ROOM. I went through two large cardboard boxes after carrying them downstairs so I could sit as I went through them. The first box was loaded with old letters and cards. This one made me start crying as I went through the contents. Letters from family members. One letter was from my Grandma which didn't write letters to me, but somehow I had one. A card once in awhile. This letter made me weep. It was such a nice one.
I came across letters from one of my brothers that hardly speaks to me these days. He was very cordial in the letters I read and it made me remember a time when we were on better terms. I pray that we will be on better terms again. No telling when.
Then my stash of letters from my older brother who passed away last October. I'd read a while and cry awhile then read some more. I had to stop reading as it was more than I could bear. I think I will go through them again and put them in chronological order, slip them into sheet protectors and place them in a notebook. Letters from my brother.
Love letters from my husband and some not. A few letters from my grown children. My parents. My sister. Close friends and relatives. Thank you's. I think I have kept every letter and card ever mailed to me. It is something else that I still have them. Then came the next box.
This box contained papers from nearly 20 years back. I started pitching this and that. Why I hung onto these...I don't know. I think maybe I had forgotten that I had them. It took a couple of hours, but I managed to get through it and felt a weight lifted off my shoulders. Ahhhhhh. No longer broken hearted although the things in this box were attached to the past that had a sad ending. Time marches on and sometimes situations get better!!! God can heal our broken hearts. There there...That's better. That's so much better. Throwing these papers away was what was needed.
This week-end I hope to continue clearing out the JUNK ROOM. Surely I will get to the bottom of this before I turn 70. That's scary 'cause that's only 3 and a half years out. I have to work faster. I really do.
THANKFUL I can NOW THROW THINGS AWAY. Donate much. A sigh of relief heard here. I am a new creature these days. Making headway and taking notice that I am changing for the better. Amen and amen.
