RECOVERING

πŸ‘½πŸ‘½πŸ‘½πŸ‘½πŸ‘½πŸ‘½πŸ‘½πŸ‘½πŸ‘½πŸ‘½

GREETINGS EARTHLINGS!
Feeling better.  Weak, less coughing, and tired, but returning to the land of the LIVING.  Today, I plan to shampoo my hair at the kitchen sink. Think I'll put curlers in it to air dry.  I must be feeling lots better.

When I looked at myself in the mirror this morning, I had to laugh at my hair.  BED HEAD with waves of wilderness swirling about my head.  I looked like I hadn't combed my hair in a year. Wild and wooly.

This was a rough go being ill.  Had no trouble staying hydrated.  Today, I added lemon juice to my bottle of H2o.  I believe I need to do this. I had no difficulties breathing even with a stuffy nose and horrific cough.  No fever.  Appetite pretty good.  Feet up and reclining some.  So many naps.

With my feet elevated, the swelling finally departed.  My feet look like they should which is nice for having had swollen feet for months.   I will willingly go walking next week if I'm not so weak. I am so in hopes of being better in a few days.  I started seeing signs of something going on about a week ago with a mild headache and tummy rumbles.  Friday, the sniffles started escalating to a roaring cough.  Saturday was worse with mild temp and horrendous cough. Sunday, tested positive on HOME  CO V ID  TEST.  Rough day.  Sunday, Monday and Tuesday were all rough days.  Wednesday was better.  Thursday, felt like I back slide.  Strange.  Still weak and tired.  Lots of resting.  Still coughing more than I wanna be.

Getting my hair shampooed will lift my spirits.  A bath will help as well.  Full belly, lots of fluids and rest. Don't forget the vitamins.

I will be concentrating on DUSTING the COTTAGE.  Spot cleaning and disinfecting everything. OPEN some windows.

This morning, I did some dishes, folded some laundry, placed another load in wash machine, glass cleaned the bathroom mirror, dusted the wood frame around it, went through the mail and read the newspaper.  Now I'm resting and thinking about walking around the block before it storms and the temps get into the 90s.  Watching some videos and praying.  I missed the KSU GARDENS IRIS SALE yesterday.  The Fair is going on.  Missing it.  Staying away from peeps. Praying for a better day each day.  Not being around groups of people or sitting nearby.  Fresh air and being outdoors would be a plus with sunshine on my face.🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌀πŸŒ₯🌀🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞

THIS IS THE DAY THE LORD HATH MADE.  I WILL REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT.

GETTING BETTER

🀧IT'S BEEN A ROUGH RIDE with co v id.  The coughing has let up, but when I have a coughing fit, it's so awful.  I hurt.  Still resting a great deal.  Finding some strength to sit up.

HAD THE STRENGTH TODAY to research where to order flowers in Sapulpua, Oklahoma for a delivery as my kids will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary on July 24th.  They're not having a reception.  I would have had to cancel out if they were as here I am sick with this cruddy co v id.

I think I'm perking up some.  Thankful to God.  After each coughing fit, I speak scripture out loud and take a sip of liquid.  Pop a lozenges in my mouth and try to stay steady with the cough syrup every 4 hours.  Lots of tissue is used.  Blow my nose and sigh.

Hubby tested positive today.  We are a pair.  He took good care of me the last few days and now it's my turn to assist him as I can.  I am feeling better, but not a 100%.  Praying for a speedy recovery for the both of us.  Like having a   h o r r i f i c   COLD.

The coughing is terrible.  Calming it with cough syrup, water, lozenges, and rest.  LOTS OF REST.  Taking Vitamin C, D3 with K2 and zinc with Selenium.  Drinking pineapple juice throughout the day.  Heavens, this co v id is awful.

Lots of things to be pleased about though and I've got to count my blessings.  Oklahoma Son and Daughter.I.L will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary, Brother and S.I.L celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary and a Nephew got married last Friday.  Love is in the air.

Thankful I am living in small-town America where we talk to our neighbors and wave at passers byers.  We have a roof over our heads and food in the pantry.  Running water, electricity and natural gas.  Lights that come on with a flip of a switch.  Telephone, television, radio music when wanted.  I am blessed to have as much as I do.

I finally managed to load the bottom of Grandma's Hutch full of my Blue Garland china.  It took a while, but managed.  I'm not sure anyone would want this china if I tried to give it away or sell it.  I don't use them and I know my girls wouldn't want them.  hum.  I guess I'll just hang onto them for now.  Each passing day, they get older.  At this time, they are already about 47 years old.  Shortly they will be antiques.

NOW, I collect TEA LEAF STONEWARE (1880ish) and it's like being a part of a scavenger HUNT.  Hit and miss finding pieces when going to antique shoppes and thrift corners.  The internet is my link to getting more if wanted, but this isn't as fun as coming across a piece here and there when traveling.  I get to see other merchandise in the shops when physically going to a brick and mortar environment.

I have got to continue getting my household in order.  When I do get ill, it doesn't rest well with me to be so out of order.  Each day, I will work on this as it is truly needed.  Over the last year or so, I thinned out so much paperwork that I thought I would be doing back flips having it taken care of.  In disbelief that I got as much done as I did, I'm stuck sitting and still working on getting the estate in order.  I believe I have to keep my nose at it.  It's going to require a huge commitment to get it all done.  With being ill, I can only pray and think about how to make it go away.

I need to waddle outside and water the porch plants.  They need a good drink.  The laundry isn't getting done and that's alright.  It can wait as I rest.  Hubby is asleep on the sofa.  I already had a restful nap this morning.

In the news concerning politics...it's a banger.  Have you heard that the politicians are selected, NOT elected?  Politics is a touchy subject matter that seems to get people upset very quickly.  One seems to be labeled today either black or white. There's no grey area.  Maybe that should be red or blue.  Sad that if you mention one name, you may lose friends over it.  Last election, I did lose friends, which saddened me but I guess they really weren't my friends in the first place if we can't have a difference of opinion without dissolving the relationship when we didn't agree 1000% on politics. That wasn't my doings.  A canyon grew on their part.

Okay, moving right along and I must stay in motion.  This week I hope to continue getting better and do a few light chores as best I can. The energy level is extremely low.  Very low.

Now, I must go take my vitamins and think about what to fix for supper.  Probably Chicken noodle soup with crackers.

God bless you and may you be well,
~d

Co V id REARS ITS UGLY HEAD

My 89 year old mom is down with this dreaded illness.  She is vaccinated.  Still got it.  Fainted last Friday, admitted to the Hospital, kept two days and let out to go HOME.  Got nauseated during the night and doesn't feel the best.  Back to the Hospital she went and was given an anti-nausea med.  She's resting at her HOME with my Sister taking care of her.

I am very concerned about my mom AND my sister and her husband near by.  Debbie is fully vaccinated and has had her booster.  Still, I am concerned.  I believe my mom should have remained in the Hospital being taken care by professionals leaving my sister out of this.  Told to wear a mask in my Mom's very small apartment.  When  I was visiting with her on the phone, her husband was on his phone.  She found out that one of her best friends had died from injuries from a auto wreck.  Not good.  We quickly said our good-byes.  I'll be checking back tomorrow about my dear Mom.

My St. Louis son is feeling better.  Co V id.  Thank God.  Thank you God.  He is staying HOME. He strongly suggest that Hubby and I get boosters.

TODAY, hubby and I made our way to SUGAR CREEK DELI to eat LUNCH.  Once again, I had a RACHEL SALAD.  It was delicious.  Thousand Island Dressing to the side.  Lettuce, spinach leaves, cole slaw, turkey and some kind of white cheese.  Sipped on water.

Bank stop.  Perhaps I shouldn't have gone to GOD's STOREHOUSE today, but I did.  Donations in a large box were given.  I didn't stay long.  When the parking lot is difficult to find a place to park I know they are very busy and overly crowded inside.

Off to Starbuck's for a unsweetened Iced Green Tea for me.  Hubby got a coffee and told me that he is cutting back on coffee.  If I can quit so can he, he says.

Paid the mortgage payment.  For efficiency and safety, I will start mailing this payment in instead of being the one to drop it off at their facility.  I'm old fashioned and I like to get out of the house making going to the mortgage company a priority.  I can change though.  We hope to have the mortgage paid off soon.  Won't that be grand.  Tried to avoid as much traffic as I could. I believe I have to do things differently once again.

With the  Co V id  thing once again gaining ground, I think we had best stay HOME again and skip the meals out.  When we do have to get out, we had best use curbside service and begin avoiding crowded places.  I have begun wearing mask again and sanitizing my hands often.

This evening after eating SUPPER and resting, I went upstairs to the media room that is being used as a junk room and worked at hauling things out of there to donate or place in proper places.  Hubby helped.  We're a team.  I am blessed to have him helping me.  We agreed that we will be doing this a little here and there over the months because of so much more we have to do. It's gotta be done.

I'll be taking the CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS off of the big tree this week.  I so enjoyed seeing my children's childhood ornaments on our large tree.  No frilly ribbons this year or foo foo anything. Once again undressing the tree will be a little here and a little there.  Carefully wrapping the items.  I believe I need to get some new tissue paper to use when storing the ornaments safely.

I believe if I am given the chance to decorate trees next year in the small Living room we will have at the COTTAGE, I will decorate with cranberries, pinecones, crystal and beads with some cranberry colored ribbons and twinkle lights.  The tree that will be in the Dining room will be decked out with twinkle lights, natural things like baked orange slices, pinecones, nuts, wooden beads, popcorn strands, apple slices, tin stars and what-nots.  Garland and pretty greenery picks will crown the tops of mirrors and pictures.  Faux candles in various places.

A Nativity Scene will be placed either in the Living room or Dining room...maybe both. Nutcrackers in the Kitchen.  Santas in the TV room.

The wreaths on the front doors will be grapevine wreaths with greenery, pinecones, cranberry picks and cranberry colored ribbon.  The porch will have posh garland, twinkle lights and cranberry colored ribbons.  Got it figure out so now as I put decorations away and also go through my stash in the basement of Christmas decor, I can downsize it even more.

WASSAIL will be warming up on the stove top brewing an aroma to enjoy.  Cold Eggnog in fancy wine glasses will sit on the countertops for family and friends.  Mixed nuts in a wooden dish waiting to be snacked on.  Things to think about for future Holiday.

With so much death about, sadness arises and I sense the urgency to get things done quickly and efficiently.  I should have been this way all along.  Wisdom finally speaks.  I have the will power to turn loose of things quicker than ever before.  Someone else can be BLESSED by these things given away.

Another box for donations has been started.
By the back door it goes,

DECORATING

I knew a very frugal Lady named Edith that shared with me a excellent guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls, and the windows have nice curtains, you'll have an attractive room."

John 3:7

“Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.”

King James Version (KJV)

PSALM 118:17

I shall not die,
but live, and declare
the works of the Lord.

PROVERBS 24:3-4

By wisdom
a house is built,
and through understanding

it is established;
through
knowledge

its rooms are filled with rare

and beautiful treasures.

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.

WISHES

NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH with all your might that the something devastating that happened in your life hadn't happened and want so badly to go back in time to prevent it from happening...it isn't humanly possible to do this. You can't change the fact that it happened. IT DID. But JESUS can change the MEANING of what happened to you and give you PEACE. He can show you the way in which you are to go. God richly BLESS you. ~Deanna
