T his morning I woke around 4:20 AM.
This isn't like me. Perhaps I will begin to rise early from here on out.
Six o'clock is my goal. Getting the day underway by 6 would be answered prayer.
This past week-end I celebrated my 57th Birthday by going to Abilene, Kansas with my sweet Husband. After packing the over night bag....picked Hubby up for the week-end. He had a fancy coffee waiting for me to drink for the road. Checked into THE VICTORIAN INN at 6 PM and stayed in the HURD ROOM. Opened my gift from Husband. A beautiful Journal to write in. So many times I have said, I wished I had kept a journal. Smiles. So I will begin today.

Breakfast served at 8 AM by window.
About 4 years ago we stayed in The Mamie Honeymoon Suite for our Anniversary. The Gourmet Breakfasts have been delicious. The House is huge and the couple that run this nice place are very kind. I failed to have my camera for the breakfast, but it was delicious and pretty as a picture!

Friday evening, we had a very relaxing Supper at
THE HISTORIC KIRBY HOUSE
as we dined on STEAK and had dessert.

We sat by the Fireplace wth Italian Marble Tiles.
Took a drive about town as the temps began to cool. A little breeze. Felt great on my face. Stopped off at President Eisenhower's Library and Museum to take some pictures of the childhood home. As we returned to THE VICTORIAN INN, a train was stopped on the tracks which was carrying wind blades. It was an unusual sight to see on the train cars such gigantic blades being transported to a wind farm for assembly.

Black and White Late Night Movie
with Cary Grant in the 1944 film ARSENIC AND OLD LACE.
Took a shower in the morning and dined in the Formal Dining room. Fruit Yogurt Parfait, French Toast served on a dish
with raspberry sauce topped with Pralines and Coconut, 2 strips of Bacon, Strawberries slices on Yogurt, Coffee and Juice.
Gave me some good ideas to use in my everyday life.
Returned to room and took a morning nap on my birthday before packing our car. Very refreshing. Later for Lunch we ate at the famous BROOKVILLE HOTEL.
We had planned on touring the Seeley Mansion, but asked if we could do this when it wasn't so hot out.
Will set a date for another tour. I hear it's LOVELY.
Returned to our small Prairie Town.
Daughter and Grand-daughter
presented me with a birthday balloon and cards from the mail!
Freshly picked tomatoes were prepared
for a homemade spaghetti dish.
Daughter fixed a very nice meal for me,
served up birthday cake
and we watched an American Girl Family Movie.
A decent film especially for young girls ages 4 to 13.
My Brother phoned me to wish me a Happy Birthday.
My Parents had tried to reach me, but I was gone.
On Sunday, they came over with gifts and a Birthday Cake!
Sister called on Sunday evening.
So did oldest Son.
He and Grand-daughter are safely back in the states
from Missions Trip. PTL.
Younger Son phoned Monday evening.
Great BIRTHDAY!!!
Ended the week-end watching DOWNTON ABBEY and admiring the Edwardian clothing. Hummmmm. Could I look this way???

Is my age bothering me? Some. I think I'm almost 60
....Lord willing I will make it to this age.
BUT FIRST what do I want to accomplish this year??? THINKING ABOUT THIS.
Sew a quilt.Paint a painting.
Write a book.
Work at reducing weight.
Getting more organized.
Finish decorating smallest bedroom.
Stitch Master Bedroom Bed Skirt and Curtains.
Wall paper the Familyroom.
That's enough.
Can I do it.....Lord willing.
I am hoping by my 58th Birthday to have a remodeled Kitchen!
Oh pleeeeeeeez.
