Hubby quickly carved two pumpkins and placed candles in them. Hung some orange lights and put Frankenstein in the bump-out. We had a slow paced evening answering the door until 9:30. That's late for us. It was brisk outside, but we had a nice turn out on our porch for candy.
The Kansas wind had died down and it seemed like AUTUMN. Handing out little bags of pretzels and miniature candy bars made some spooks very happy. I still get a kick out of seeing the Trick-or-Treaters smiling when they are given candy. Many still say "THANK YOU!"
Next year I think I will hand out full size candy bars again. It does my heart good.
Hubby and I sipped coffee and chatted about LIFE. We have plans to take more leisurely drives escorting us to seeing family and the colorful scenery along the way. November is a blink away. Busy month. Too busy. I am sure I will have to slow down at the beginning of December with Christmas shopping nearing completion. I can hope.
This passed week I put in three good days sorting through boxes, shifting through papers, moving treasures from one room to another making a huge mess. You'd never know that I was organizing. It all looks like a storm hit and we need to call a medic. One person's trash is another's treasure. Okay.
I'm still hauling things to the thrift shops. Found two pairs of stretch pants in my closet. Grinnnnns. Remember those lovely things with the stirrups that you slip your feet through. HA. They are in the laundry drying. If my daughter doesn't want them, they will migrate south to the thrift shop next week and some lucky soul will get to see what classy really isn't.
Eye-opening to go through our things.
De-cluttering and enjoying LIFE with less to dust.
The radiators were turned on yesterday.
It is a blessing to have them and to have not had to turn them on until the end of OCTOBER. SINCE we are on the even payment plan, I was hoping that we could zero-out our utility bill before using the radiators. We got close, but no bananas.
We're finally going to do it.
Our Bedroom will be turned into a Master suite with bed,
dresser, sofa and wing chairs.
The Formal Parlour is about to disappear to become a more casual living space. The Kitchen Hubby has been working on will take on the appearance of a PANTRY. Room for a desk for the computer and my large collection of Cook-Books.
The present Family room will become a formal Dining room.
We hope to start on this venture next week.
We both had to walk through where all the pieces of furniture will be placed.
We both had to walk through where all the pieces of furniture will be placed.
Great exercise for the brain.
Muscles needed.
I think we have the kinks worked out.
NOVEMBER here we come.
Voting takes place, a son turns 37, a Grand-daughter becomes a teen-ager and my Dad celebrates 88 years of LIFE. THANKSGIVING arrives, I'm going hunting for formal Dining room furniture, all rooms are morphing and the trash will be taken out.
OCTOBER was a LIFE CHANGING MONTH.
I feel like a new woman at the age of 59.
De-toxing and DE-CLUTTERING.
Things that do not need to be in my LIFE
are going bye-bye.
HAVE A PLEASANT WEEK-END
and month.
God bless,
d
This lil pumpkin is our newest Grandson.
Jolly Green Giant ( SON)
