THE ABILENE'S VICTORIAN INN
in Abilene Kansas
made my heart go pitter pat as we stayed for the night
and ate a delicious Breakfast.
The Old Victorian Home was built in 1887 by Dr. Edward E. Hazlett
whose son, Swede was childhood chums with Dwight D. Eisenhower.
Swede encouraged Dwight to go to West Point.
Dwight did and became the 34th President of the United States.
Adrian the Hostess and present Home Owner ( Mrs. Jay Potter ),
known as 2011 Mrs. Abilene for the Mrs. Kansas America Contest,
checked us in and gave us a small box of chocolates!
I felt very special.
Adrian placed as Mrs. Congeniality, received Community Service Award
and received Marriage Longevity regconition.
We stayed in the HURD ROOM and slept very well.
Hostess Andrian Potter (Mrs. Abilene) is a Certified Culinarian and Food Manager
holding an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Culinary Arts and fixed BREAKFAST.
We ate in the Dining room by the window.
Then we were ready for the day!
We had a pleasant stay.
A wonderful treat as part of my 57th Birthday Get Away.
Ready to get away again and it isn't even my birthday.
