HOW ARE THINGS GOING?

GETTING RESTED AFTER A WEEK OF LOOKING AFTER THE LIL GUY THAT TURNED ONE ON SATURDAY.  His Mom and Dad were taking care of important business and needed a helping hand with Junior.  Early mornings for us with special time with our Grandson who is incredibly active.  I don't think it's that I have forgotten how active a tike can be.  He is really, really, really busy.  He is extremely inquisitive and observant for being so young.  We had a wonderful week with him.  Now to take some time to get refreshed for an old woman.  I need time to get rested up.

Back to making plans for THANKSGIVING DAY that's close to TEN DAYS away. Laundry to do, some shopping, major clean-up of the house then food preparations.

Today, I managed to wrap up the Christmas ornaments for my GRANDS.  I need to place some in the mail this week.  A trip to the COTTAGE is needed as I want to get my small appliances out of my main house Kitchen to free up some space and travel on over to TOPEKA. Hubby is getting low on Coffee which is his one huge luxury.  Also I enjoy using the throw away coffee cups with lids as it is worth every penny so I am not at the sink washing coffee mugs throughout the day.  grins.  A little help from my friends.  As I drive the distance, I will deliberately take notice of the landscape and bless the Lord with praise how magnificent his landscape is even in the cold.

Tis incredibly cold outside.  Feels wonderful inside my HOME.  The heavy coats came out of hiding this past week as our temps dipped in the teens.  I'm never psychologically ready for the chilly weather where a person could freeze to death without outer protective clothing.  Our carseats can become heated so I don't have to warmup the car as much.  Very nice feature to have for an automobile.  I believe I'll use this all winter.

Some packing boxes are sitting about in each room as when I have a minute, I bubble wrap small knick knacks and place them in the cardboard packing box.  These will eventually go into the carriage house where I will stack them in preparations for moving to the COTTAGE in the SPRING.

Hubby finished the COTTAGE STORAGE SHED this past week and I'm excited that at after THANKSGIVING the shed will be used for HOLIDAY DECOR.  Also the treadmill will be placed in the shed to where I can use it to exercise.  That will happen after THANKSGIVING.  It is a large treadmill that is really heavy to move about so effort has to be put into the heave-ho of it all.

End of the month goals are to get the treadmill relocated to the shed, take apart muscle racks from main house basement and relocate them to the COTTAGE storage shed to be used for decor.  Then  Thanksgiving decor will be boxed up and the CHRISTMAS TREE with twinkle lights set up.  Garland around the front door hung, Nativity scene displayed, Christmas wreaths for the front doors hung and garland for the fireplace mantle hung and stair rail.  I'm going ultra simple this year so I can concentrate and use my low supply of energy on packing up this and that.

This week, I will locate the THANKSGIVING dishes and round up the bakeware that will be used.  Items will be purchased for our special meal.

Saying prayers for loved ones, our country, our HOME.  We have a friend in Texas that is standing and waiting for a huge revival to rock the United States of America.

GRASS ROOTS EFFORT involves ones HOME.  I have decided to carry on my ministry that I have as a wife and HOMEmaker that believes that the one on one ministry to other people is sorely needed as well.  Nothing flashy or hair raising, just quiet and meek ministry out of the limelight. To God be the glory...GREAT things HE hath done.

Peaceful and Calm

It will be a huge accomplishment to have all the rooms of our HOME in order for the HOLIDAYS.  I have to say...a huge accomplishment to be more settled.  I have to get through THANKSGIVING then I will think MORE about CHRISTMAS.

Dear God, I'm praying for a peaceful THANKSGIVING and CHRISTMAS.  Peaceful and calm.  Please hear my prayer.  Please. In Jesus Name I pray.  Amen.

Thanks for stopping by.
May your HOLIDAYS go well,

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

NOVEMBER 6
THE HOLIDAY PLANNING CONTINUES

Preparing for the HOLIDAYS continues.
I may have to slow my pace.  TODAY, my nose is stuffed up.  A tickle.  Watery eyes.  Cough. Cough.  I caught a cold.  Whaah.  It's not fun.  Sniff.  Sniff.  Increase the Vitamin C.

Still had blood work done in the morning, bought a miniature humidifier at Bed, Bath and Beyond, dental appointment in the early afternoon and a nap.

The first full week of NOVEMBER marches on and if I can...the deep cleaning of the house begins.

Autumn decorations are out.
THANKSGIVING Menu decided on and shopping started.
Dishes, utensils and drinking glasses decided on.  Will wash closer to THANKSGIVING.
Coffee, Iced Tea, Coffee Urn, Iced Tea Dispenser with sugar, artificial sugar, coffee creamer, stirrers ready of use.
Baking dishes will be located ready to go.
More thought about seating arrangements.
Need napkins, salt and pepper shakers.
Have to unbox Boopie Glass and place in the Kitchen cabinet.  Need to bring ladder into Kitchen to rearrange the shelves.
Will wash all the dishes, glasses and baking dishes the week ahead of THANKSGIVING.
Will have to make final decisions about sleeping arrangements and gather up the bedding. Additional bedding may need purchase.  Necessary.

THE PLANNING CONTINUES.

This evening I ordered on-line some discounted sheer panels that will hopefully go well in our Living room.  Today, I looked at what Bed, Bath and Beyond sold and thought I had better remeasure my windows.  When I started to study up on the internet, I caught a better sell at JCPenney.  Debating if I should "PUDDLE" or not.  The ceilings are high in this house and I thought I'd like to try puddling the curtains for a change.

Originally I thought I'd buy sheers and then later add a heavier drapery.  When I looked at the prices being what they are, I went ahead ordering more sheers in a different color to give the look of a drapery.

Shall get through the HOLIDAYS with these sheers and give myself more time to think on heavier drapes.  WINDOW TREATMENTS are quite an investment.  EXPENSE.  For now, I will be covering 4 windows for under $264.oo with FREE SHIPPING.  Will share later the results.

Time to get some rest.
Thank you for stopping by.

DECORATING

I knew a very frugal Lady named Edith that shared with me a excellent guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls, and the windows have nice curtains, you'll have an attractive room."

John 3:7

“Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.”

King James Version (KJV)

PSALM 118:17

I shall not die,
but live, and declare
the works of the Lord.

PROVERBS 24:3-4

By wisdom
a house is built,
and through understanding

it is established;
through
knowledge

its rooms are filled with rare

and beautiful treasures.

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.

WISHES

NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH with all your might that the something devastating that happened in your life hadn't happened and want so badly to go back in time to prevent it from happening...it isn't humanly possible to do this. You can't change the fact that it happened. IT DID. But JESUS can change the MEANING of what happened to you and give you PEACE. He can show you the way in which you are to go. God richly BLESS you. ~Deanna
