THE BATHROOM REMODEL IS DONE!

SIPPING HOT LEMON WATER WITH CAYENNE PEPPER from a grey ceramic mug.  Tis a nice way to start the day.  No breakfast yet and I don't suppose I'll eat until lunch.  Right now I am not hungry.  

What's for lunch?  Not sure yet, but will work in a colorful salad for supper if not for lunch. Working in more veggies as possible these days.  Better have some fruit as well plus a chunk of protein.  

Boiled eggs for protein will be in the salad since there were no eggs for breakfast.  I do like chick peas and small black beans as add-ins in my salads.   

Plans for the day.  Laundry of course.  A pile of paper needs to be gone through in preparation for my yearly thyroid exam in October.  I'll be going with lots of questions.  A walk in here somewhere.  Arm exercises.  More things taken out of the front bedroom.  

OVERALL CLEANUP OF OUR PROPERTY over the next half year or so.  First, the pink bedroom gets completely cleared out with furniture resting in the dining room and living room. Room will be deep cleaned from ceiling to floor.  Walls wiped down, ceiling fan cleaned, trim and windows wiped.  Maybe some new curtains hung on new curtain rod.  Nice and refreshed for the 1930's bedroom furniture that will come in.  

Then the rest of the front bedroom will be organized.  This will take some doing.  With the front bedroom cleaned out, it will be DEEP cleaned and the new TV room will be set up to function.  

The furniture resting in the dining room and living room will find a new HOME in the front bedroom.  At this point, we will have made a dent in the interior of the COTTAGE.  The floor will come later.

WHEN I GET TO THIS POINT, cooler weather will be here and it will be great conditions to clean out the mess in the garage.

In the mean time, Hubby will be working on the rebuilding of the porch while I am working on the bedroom and garage.  Whenever he needs a helper I will be there as his side kick.

~BATHROOM REMODEL IS FINISHED~ 

BATHROOM REMODEL.  Finished in time for our 51st wedding anniversary. A gift to us.  The BATHROOM is finished and I couldn't be more pleased about it.  Long time in the coming. Admiring the room.  Take a peek.  This is the linen cabinet he's been working on for awhile.  It's beautiful to me.

He completely gutted the bathroom and re-plumbed the HOUSE

 as well.

A door was removed and a wall put up where the vanity would go.  I remember the day the antique mirror was hung.  First a sketch on the wall was drawn where the mirror was going to hang.  

Wood work would be sealed, primed and painted.

PUT IT ALL TOGETHER AND WE HAVE A NICE BATHROOM IN OUR LITTLE COTTAGE.

SHAZAM! I'M SO HAPPY!!! 💞 BATHROOM REMODEL

💞 SHAZAM...I'm so HAPPY THAT THE BATHROOM IS COMING ALONG.  Hot and cold water runs from the faucet now.  I can soak in the tub!!!  PRAISE THE LORD and THANK YOU HUBBY.

It has been a long time in the coming.  Over the last few years the Bath room was completely GUTTED.  Completely overhauled from top to bottom the ceiling, walls, floor, fixtures.  The whole shebang.  Hubby and I agreed to take a break on building the linen closet until after the SHE SHED is cleared out and bedroom furniture moved in so the pink bedroom can be changed into a TV room.  

CHRISTMAS will be here before I know it and the bedrooms need arranged before company arrives.  So the linen closet will be on pause so we can comfortably get the two bedrooms arranged and the living room being a clean parlour.  All the rooms being rearranged will take some time to repurpose.  I hope to have a Christmas tree in the front parlour this year.

Getting the large screen television out of the living room will allow the bay window to show off the cuteness of the living room.  Moving the tv out of the room and into a different room will help brighten up the living room and lift my spirits.    

Mentally, seeing the TV as you walk through the front door into the living room is a headache. The big black hole will disappear where we will have a formal parlor once more.  My psych will be better.  Know what I mean?  Having things just so-so in my COTTAGE makes me a HAPPY CAMPER and HOMEMAKER.  

I have had so many messes to deal with and it is about time that we have order like civilized peeps.  Going on a year since we made RETIREMENT COTTAGE our main residence.  One year! We knew we had an ongoing fixer upper COTTAGE when we moved in.  It didn't make it any easier for us as we have projects running out of our ears.  Squeezing into a small COTTAGE is full of awkward challenges right up front.  No denying this.    

We'll return to building the linen cabinet after the TV room is up 'n goin' and the front bedroom is organized as it has not been dealt with this entire year.  What a year it has been.  Truly one of a kind.  The outside of the tub may be painted a soft gray to cover some ill affects from the last 124 years of existence after we get this other stuff completed.  

Returning to living a simpler LIFE. 

SO THANKFUL that we have progress and can actually use the tub.  Running hot and cold water and flushing toilets are a blessing!  Amen.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN AND A BATHROOM REMODEL

I DROVE HOME ALONE ALL BY MYSELF, but I wasn't lonely as I prayed practically all the way HOME for 5 hours.  Had an incredible drive through IOWA, MISSOURI and finally back to KANSAS.  Went last week to spend some time with my 92 year old Mom and Sister in IOWA.

Went to a doctor's appointment with Mom and we girls did a ton of shopping and talking.  I am officially dog tired.  

HUBBY stayed HOME to work on our bathroom and it is coming together beautifully.  I decided that I could handle the trip by myself with GOD helping me.  He didn't disappoint me.

The scenery was gorgeous.  Hints of AUTUMN are present as AUTUMN began on Sunday.  It rained some as I drove HOME.  Lots of semi-trailer trucks on the interstates and highways.  When I pulled up to my COTTAGE yard, I was relieved that I was HOME again.  I had a neat time with family, but am pleased to be HOME with my HUBBY.

I phoned my Mom when I arrived HOME so she'd know I arrived safely.  She was excited to tell me that a different apartment had opened up across the hall from where she lives that faces the South to where the patio would be getting full sun.  The apartment she's in faces North and the patio has a huge tree by it that cast branches onto the patio where she can't use it.  Just yesterday while we were parking the car to get out to go inside of the building where she lives, she said she wished that she had gotten one of the apartments right there.  She got her WISH.

This evening, the Iowa family is working on moving her stuff across the hall into the new apartment.  Heavens, this all happened so fast it makes my head spin.  She had just told us that she wished that her apartment was on the other side of the building.  Well, tonight it is.  She started moving her clothes this afternoon.  Wham.

I can't turn around and return to IOWA right now to help her move.  I had no way of knowing that she'd get a different apartment so quickly.  If I did I would be no good as my energy is GONE.  A 5 hour drive may not be anything to some, but to me, I do not travel the best.  Low energy doesn't multiply more energy for me.  It drains it.  So much for being 69.

As I drove alone, I felt empowered as I have seldom traveled alone without my Husband by my side and here I was navigating strange territory.  It's important to be somewhat independent as an older gal, huh?  I had time to think out loud and run through my mind steps of what to do next with shuffling furniture in the COTTAGE to make the place more manageable for us.  

HUBBY remained HOME so he could work on the bathroom.  It's looking nice to me.  Soon the clawfoot tub will be installed and we can bathe in comfort.  We purchased the tub so long ago, I can't remember when we got it exactly, but the feet were nickeled about a year ago waiting for their place on the tub.  It's a small tub and we bought it for the rock house with a tight fitting bathroom.  Hung unto it and are now using it for this small COTTAGE bathroom which isn't overly large.

Still some work to do on it, but it's looking very nice right now.  We had started gutting the bathroom over three years ago when we weren't living in the COTTAGE yet...it's been a long drawn out remodel for us.  LONG DRAWN OUT.  Hello somebody.

I can't help but get somewhat excited that it is just about completed.  Visions of the next step in fitting into our retirement COTTAGE dance about in me head.  I want to go with lots of white and soft grays.

The remodeling of the old Bathroom reminds me of when CHRIST takes us where we are and begins to clean us up after we receive HIM as savior and become filled with the HOLY SPIRIT.

HE loves us so much that HE wants us to be who we should be in HIM.  HE loves us into a new creature in HIM.

Be it ever so humble...there's no place like HOME,
