JUST WATCHED A REALLY GOOD 2014 MOVIE ABOUT A WAYWARD FAMILY. A DAY LATE AND A DOLLAR SHORT. A tear jerker worth watching. Oh my. The movie had substance with resolution. I liked it.
Some of the subject matter isn't for young children. You might want to watch the movie before allowing a younger audience to watch it to see what you think.
THINKING ABOUT MY DAY. October 26th. I read over my to do list and it hit me that I never thought about the devastating house fire we had in 2016. The 8 year anniversary was OCTOBER 25th. On the anniversary date, I never had one thought about it. I felt like this was progress. Hubby and I realized that we had no thoughts about it and were in awe that we made an anniversary without recalling it. pause.
WHAT A DAY. Waking at 5:30ish, I managed to do some dishes, jot down a TO DO LIST and research on the internet. Hubby was still asleep. I was thinking about scrambling some eggs for breakfast as I was on the computer when the room and computer went black around 6:15 AM. Then I remembered that a power outage for a couple of hours was to take place. I had forgotten.
I sat there thinking I should have gotten some flashlights out the night before in preparation for this black out. Instead, candles were lit, Hubby and I visited while we ate a cold breakfast. Got ready for the day and took off to travel to the CROSS COUNTRY MEET for Regionals.
It was a drive, but the Autumn drive to the meet was beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. We were plenty early for the event. Set up some chairs and waited. Chilly and windy.
Lil Miss ran. She did very well coming in first place breaking her record with a new personal best. 5k ran in 18 minutes 21 seconds. Wowzer.
AFTERWARDS, we drove over to Abilene for lunch at a new restaurant HICKOK's, walked over to Little Ike Park across the street, drove around town past President Eisenhower's Childhood Home, stopped in LUMBER HOUSE then headed HOME. Really tired and ready to rest.
Ready for the rest of the WEEK-END. QUIET TIME with the Word of God. I'll listen for the church bells to chime. I'll be wrapping glassware making room for my Blue Willow China to move inside from the garage. I will shampoo and trim my hair then soak in the antique clawfoot tub and go awe. A Sunday walk has got to take place and I will be very cautious about what I eat as I had way too many calories on Saturday.
Such a beautiful tree to see in the neighborhood.
