The month of March is coming to an end and with that April is ushered in.

For many reasons this Winter has been a very long and cold one.

I need days where I open the windows to let fresh air in to breath.

Pastel Sprinkles add interest and flavor to this banana.

Whatever the Season, there's sugar condiments in a variety of colors to add some fun.

Look for them in the cake decorating or baking areas

of your local supermarket.

If your youngster doesn't really like the taste of plain bananas...
perhaps this would help get them to eat bananas.

Easy enough for children to do.

'Life Just Got A Little Easier' Fashion

Howdy from Home Haven!

Denim BLUE blue jeans, blouse of choice and going barefooted are my MOST favorite attire to wear in all the world.  Can't help it...it just is.
My daughter and hubby are cracking up laughing at this one...because they have caught me one too many times lounging around in my housecoat.

When I do dress up, I like the classics with some jewelry, make-up and color coordinated pumps.  Have to sneak in some panti-hose now and then.

I gave my fashion tips to another woman of God when she asked for fashion secrets.  She was asking everyone. 

Okay here goes...makin' it simple.
The Basic Black Dress that's a shift with short sleeves or without is a must for every woman with a fast/slooooow paced life.  Wear the dress all by herself or spice yourself up with jewelry, scarves and accessories.  Add a colorful blazer/jacket in the choice of color that you just have to express yourself in and add color coordinated pumps with matching clutch purse.  Spruce your face up with make-up.  A little eye shadow, blush and lipstick are make-up basics....don't forget a good smelling fragrance splashed on your wrists and neck. 

This is a year round treat, but since Spring is here...you might wanna get a softer colored shift dress and accent it with softer colored blazers and jackets.  Same goes with accessories, jewelry or scarves, matching color coordinated pumps with clutch purse.

Know what colors enhance your natural beauty and wear them.

Easy does it.  It's fast and fuss free!
Life just got a little easier.

Home Happenings

Home Haven HOWDY! 
What a sweet thing it is to start my Monday morning out slow and leisurely!  I need this after a busy week-end.  Load of laundry in, sipping on morning coffee and Lil Miss has had her breakfast.  Folded some towels and drying the bed comforter. 

The comforter is so thick that it won't dry in the clothes dryer after several drying cycles...will have to take it out of the dryer and drape it over some chairs to finish drying.  Don't want to put it on the bed while still damp.  My floor dryer is out in the garage.  The utility room doesn't really have room in it to use my floor dryer.  AND storing it in my ut room isn't practical...takes up too much room in my sweet ut room, but don't want to get rid of it. 

The weather turned out snowy and cold...no clothes line drying.  Secret's out...i don't have an outdoors clothesline...need one?  Wouldn't work today anyhow.  When we lived on the farm, I ordered a folding wood floor dryer from www.lehmans.com  (Are you familiar with their old fashion products?)  because the farmhouse had no clothesline.  Against the landlord's wishes.  Can you believe that the landlady didn't want a outdoors clothesline to clutter the country view?  Ouch.  Being in the country and not wanting the animals to see wet clothing on a clothesline was a bit odd. 

We were using propane and our clothes dryer was a natural gas unit...I didn't have good vibes about using a converter so the entire time we lived on the farm I used the floor dryer and saved on the propane.  I learned to immediately take the dress shirts out of the washing machine and quickly hang them on hangers to dry.  It was kind of neat to have the shirts...most of them cotton...dry on a hanger then ready to hang in the closet when dry.  Blue jeans dried on the floor dryer...stiff and almost starched like.  Towels were rougher to the touch than I liked...but we managed.  Dress slacks were hung on the floor dryer and dried nicely.

It makes me wonder how people without a utility room manage/managed their wintery/bad weather laundry task when they have/had no clothes dryer.  House Beautiful would be altered a tad.

Lehman's has an accordian dryer that I think would fit in my present utility room between the little window and baseboard  heater.  Might order one of these.  Shall see.

My week-end was slow paced and pleasant!  Was yours?

Date Night with HUBBY was a Spangles WESTERN Hamburger with some fries dipped in catsup washed down with water.  Dessert was a strawberry sundae.  I had a hankering for ice cream drizzled in strawberry sauce.  Didn't eat the whole thing so I WAS A GOOD GIRL.

Onto a ON THE BIG SCREEN movie. 

We ventured out to see Matt Damon in ADJUSTMENT BUREAU.

Afterwards, a quick stop at TARGET.  I always check the dollar binds in a virtuous manner.

A safe trip home and kick off my shoes relaxin'.

A politician's love story with a ballerina 

in which he discovers the hat wearing Adjustment Bureau

makes sure others are kept on the Chairman's course. 

Some language and one sexually suggestive scene

between an unmarried couple spending the night together

(they could have left this out and it wouldn't have hurt the movie),

some violence, lots of runnning. 

Thought it would be a thriller...it wasn't as much as I had invisioned it to be,

but was nice to get out for the evening.

 

Truthfully, watching this on a big screen tv would have been just as good as going to the movie theatre,

but we don't have a big screen tv...yet.

I'd rate it about a 6...1 the lowest rating to 10 the highest.

In the movie if the Ballerina stays in a relationship with the Politician,

 her dream of becoming a world known ballerina will be replaced

with the reality of her being just a Dance Instructor to nine year olds......Deanna here: as if being a dance instructor to nine year olds has no value?  The little dancers are eternal beings in God's economy. 

In this movie nine year old children are viewed as less important

than being a world famous ballerina.

Did you catch that?

NOW WHEN I SEE THESE HATS....I'LL BE WONDERING....GRINS.

Thought the best scenes in the movie were

1) when Politician David Norris (played by Damon) walks into a conference room and his co-worker is frozen in time while the Adjustment Bureau  resets his mind without him knowing it. 

2) Being transported to a different location simply by opening a door.

3) The Adjustment Bureau's maplike books that shows the direction one is suppose to go.

I couldn't help thinking...i just wonder how many millions Damon made off of this movie?  It wasn't outstanding.

This week-end the kitchen metal racks were worked on...swapping items from one shelf to the next.  Hope to finish up today.  It's a mental work out trying to figure out the best way to use the space...especially when the kitchen is a work in progress and I have only so much space to hold all that needs stored and then some! 

Hubby and I watched you fired Donald Trump's APPRENTICE last night as we wiped down and disinfected miniature vinyl shelving that had been stored in our partial basement.  They cleaned up nicely and have been added to the shelves for additional storage space.

Dirt~Dust In My Life

It was an easy thing for me as a teenager to get overly busy and overly committed toward activities outside my childhood home.  Youth and energy and desiring to be noticed contributed to being so busy.  Looking back, I regret not having the knowledge that I should be taking time out to get quiet with the Lord.

Being younger and full of energy was a lot like having fire shut up in my bones.  I WAS BUSY...about ready to pop.  I enjoyed the busy~ness that came with being involved with this club, busy with that organization, hands on with this activity and forging ahead studying hard to make the Dean's Honor Roll.  Hurrying through my daily chores then off on the run to this club, that club, full of things to do. do. do. do. do.  Even CHURCH Activity was on the list of things to be involved in.  Busy, busy, busy.  Perhaps this is just a part of being young.

I had a bad case of BUSY~ITIS.  Over the years I have spent time analyzing ~why so busy?~  Some people handle their lives better than I did.  I think it's alright to not have idle hands.......but if all this activity causes you to have no time to stop and think....well why so busy?  How refreshing it would have been to spend quiet time with my Lord.  Time to take instruction and have clarity about LIFE.

I'm older now....and it's satisfying to my soul to take coffee breaks, sitting alone looking out the window and visiting with God about life.  Praying.

My week days are full of tending to a very active, young grandchild that stays a hopping.  The chores don't always get done.  It's a different kind of busy...she comes before the chores.

The chores are always there.  Things that need done have to be given attention.  They won't get done by themselves, and yet.......they shouldn't rob me of my joy......a steady diet of housework is there....pacing myself and taking time to get refreshed in God's presence is a needed blessing.  Praising God and thanking HIM for HIS blessings and LOVE will lift one's spirits.

Ever been scrubbing the floor on your hands and knees talking to the Lord and start praising Him that you can get on your hands and knees to scrub the floor and THANKING Him for the floor that's in the home???  I have.

I want to Thank God for the dirt on the floor...because there's a floor. in our home. and the dirt was brought indoors by loved ones that are ALIVE and in my life.

Now, Lord that dust that settles inside my home on top of everything isn't appreciated as much as maybe it should be......are you letting me know that you are there and you're the one that made the dust?  That I don't have to get so worked up over dust because you're in charge?  Thank you, God for being on the throne.  I'm glad you're there.

Our meal was a HAPPY one 

at Home Haven with more vegetables in the sauce.

Loved the TOASTED Garlic Bread.  

Just add a Green Salad with a Iced Tea 

and call it good.

Recently we celebrated a Grandson's First Birthday 

with wonderful food that his Momma presented to the Guest.

Fresh Fruit combined with Fresh Veggies,

Pretzels, Crackers, Slices of Cheese with Summer Sausage.

All served on crystal and glass dishes

which added a clarity to the food.
