LEFTOVERS for Valentine's Day lunch. Served my hubby some leftovers from last night's supper plus a side salad. The meal was grilled broccoli, cauliflower, cashews, green peppers on a bed of brown rice. Side salad was spinach, arugula, peppers, scallion onion, radishes, chick peas, black beans, croutons and Italian Dressing. I think he got enough greens/veggies.
I had the huge salad with Catalina dressing for lunch.
VALENTINE's SUPPER was a different story. For VALENTINE's I wanted to enjoy my sweetheart chocolates and a full steak dinner with baked potato and asparagus. I had decided to allow myself the liberty of CHOCOLATE on this fine VALENTINE's DAY. AND BOY DID I ENJOY the sweets that my hubby gave me. Big heart shaped box of RUSSELL STOVER's chocolates.
After our VALENTINE'S MEAL, I plan on detoxing from certain foods as I ease into eating differently AGAIN. The clock strikes midnight and the change begins.
FOR SUPPER we had a STEAK DINNER with a baked potato and asparagus covered with Hollandaise sauce. HUBBY fixed this meal and he has the HOLLANDAISE SAUCE perfected. All was delicious for our quiet meal at HOME. Hubby went to a great deal of work fixing our meal. It was magnificent for our VALENTINE's TREAT together.
EARLIER IN THE DAY. I woke early, did a few chores and worked on the KITCHEN. We both worked on the KITCHEN and made some sense out of it. THE MESS IS SHRINKING! Thank you GOD. Thank you, LORD. The room is looking like a KITCHEN at last.
We have a few more boxes on the floor that we need to get out of the KITCHEN, but the portable work station table is gone. We can see floor space now. Opens the small room up.
Having thoughts of when the antique wood file cabinet is moved out of the utility room that the tall, metal rack holding the overflow KITCHEN stuff can be moved into the utility room where the file cabinet is. It's going to be a while before the KITCHEN is remodeled and I think I can live with the KITCHEN overflow being on this rack in the utility room. Not sure how I can rush this one up. PATIENCE and relax.
NAP TIME in the afternoon. I felt like I could allow myself this luxury. It was heavenly to wake feeling refreshed. Take a deep breath and carry on. Climbing out of bed, I readied myself for the evening of spending time with my SWEETHEART for Valentine's Day. We exchanged cards in the morning and he gave me a large box of chocolates that we have been nibbling on throughout the day.
I enjoyed. Knowing that in the morning I will shift gears and avoid sweets for awhile. Bread as well. I have to get my fix on Valentine's Day. ONGOING. I will start recording what I eat during the day and count the calories to stay under or as close as I can to 1000 calories a day. Heavy on the veggies and lighter on the fruits. Legumes, nuts and seeds. Lots of water. No sugary drinks. No cookies, cakes, pies or pasta. Cheese gone. I'll weigh myself and start this downward trend in weight loss.
6 months until our wedding anniversary. 50 pounds lighter PLEASE. 6 months. Think I'll post a sign on the fridge as a reminder that I want to reduce my size by 50 pounds. Walking everyday... must be faithful. Lord help. Believe in myself that I can do this thing. BELIEVE and encourage myself. ENCOURAGE SELF.
