OLD WEST STYLE HERB GARDEN

TODAY IS ONE OF THOSE DAYS THAT I WISHED I LIVED AT HISTORIC COWTOWN in Wichita far away from the maddening crowd.  FAR FAR AWAY.  Turn the clock back a hundred and fifty years and be in my happy place on a porch in the shade just day dreaming.  THOUGH I AM VERY THANKFUL for present day flushing toilets, running water, electricity, natural gas, heating and cooling, I'd incorporate a few modern conveniences with a strong flare for the 1880s.

We made it to COW TOWN a week ago as we had a break in the scheduling for the High School STATE TRACK MEET.  I knew we wouldn't tour the entire town, but enjoyed what we did see of it.  I wish we had taken some sandwiches and dined under a huge SHADE TREE in Cow Town at a deliberately SLOW PACE.  We did manage to drink a chilled Sarsaparilla in Fritz's Saloon along with eating a $2.50 hotdog.

My favorite things to see are the interior of the historic houses that are open to tourist.  It seems like a simpler time for so many reasons.  I LOVE THE MURDOCK HOUSE LIKE CRAZY.  

THIS VISIT WAS ENHANCED BY THE HERB GARDEN which was new.  This was high on my list of FAVORITE EXHIBITS to view.  The large signs must be copied.  I loved the way the labeled plants were scattered instead of being in straight lines of herb plants.  Gave me a world of good ideas to copy.  We did sit under a shade tree to soak it all in and I did.  If I could blink and time travel, I'd be there right this second resting on a bench under the shade tree after tending to my garden.  Day Dreaming at its best.

I sometimes get so tired of loud noise that the local cars and lawn mowers make.  Sometimes I tire of being around too many humans.  Being in a place where the noises and people are limited makes me desire a very private place to sit so I can be alone with GOD.  

On our way to WOLF POUTRY AND HERBS we saw SOMETHING SWEET. A puppy named ABBY.  What a charmer.
