THERE'S YOU IN YOUNG!!!

TEN FOODS TO EAT TO HELP STAY YOUNG.  After all the reading and surfing the internet for years, I agree with this article on Walk In Lab's sight that they have posted.  After awhile the articles all seem to have a common denominator and say basically the same thing.  Perhaps I will get it in my head that these are foods I should eat all the time.

I can still find YOU in the word young or there's youth in you.  I probably need to pay attention to ways to feel better and younger.  I'd love to feel BETTER and being younger wouldn't hurt.

EAT YOUR WAY TO YOUTH: 10 FOODS THAT KEEP YOU YOUNG

Science tells us that certain foods are packed with antioxidants, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals that protect our cells, boost collagen, and keep our brains sharp. In other words, your plate might just be the closest thing to a fountain of youth.

So, what should you be eating to keep your skin glowing, your joints happy, and your energy levels high? Here are 10 powerhouse foods to help you stay vibrant, inside and out.

In a nut shell the foods are:
BLUEBERRIES

FATTY FISH

AVOCADOS

DARK CHOCOLATE

NUTS

LEAFY GREENS

GREEN TEA

SWEET POTATOES

POMEGRANATES

GARLIC

The only food I have difficulty in consuming are the pomegranate.  I'll have to master this one.

Ahh to be young again.  Perhaps I can still feel better than I do in an older body.  As for youth, I sometimes think I'm younger than I actually am.  Mentally, I still feel similar to when I was 18.  My body doesn't.

Blessings to you,
~d💚

FOLKSY VENTURE CHEERING ON

I HAD TO WALK AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER THIS MORNING AS THE POST I HAD SPENT AT LEAST AN HOUR WRITING WENT POOF AFTER I TRIED PUBLISHING IT. POOF.

 NO RETRIEVING IT.

My old computer needs a new battery and perhaps completely hauled over.  Not really wanting to invest in a new computer.  Mine is 8 years old and has a lot of mileage on it.  Trying again.

SNOW fell and rain is expected tonight.  This afternoon, I plan on going to the $ STORE to purchase a different BILL BOOK.  The one I purchased is large enough, which I like, but it has the bills out front where you cannot see the individual days that the bills are due.  The calendar part of each month cannot be seen for quick glances.  You have to pull the bills out away from the back of the folder to get a glance when the bills go out.

I'll return to the style of book I have used for ten years if I can get my hands on one.  I hope they still sell the style I'm use to.

Getting out of the house does me wonders for healthier mental health.  I love my HOME, but I have to get out and about after being inside.  So the rest of the day will have an outing planned, return HOME to do some laundry and go walking on the treadmill out in the she shed around 4.  Afterwards, I'll cool off and start Supper and do some more laundry.

I will be working on laundry for days on end as I am so far behind due to ill health, recouping, recovery, and out of town medical appointments left and right for Hubby and me.  We both have had a very active social life with the medical field as of late.  Trying to not get discouraged, but it's always on the back burner reminding me just how behind I am.  I have to cast down these thoughts of discouragement and become my personal cheerleader.  ðŸ“£ It doesn't always work for me and I throw my pom-poms down saying game over and you lost as I stomp away.

Back to thee drawing board.  I have been entertaining myself with happy thoughts of days gone by when it seemed like I had all the time in the world and things got done.  Energy and time holding hands.  Happy thoughts of youth.  I miss it.  Shifting gears and fast forward to the present day.  Here I be.

I've made headway with the laundry, but still cannot see the bottom of the baskets.  Hanging in there, but need an attitude adjustment.

Day 11 on the Daniel Diet.  Half way through the 21 days.  That's better.  After I cross the finish line, I'll ease back into adding the foods I have eliminated for the time being.  I'll ease into eating eggs for breakfast with toast, butter and fruit.  Lunch will be salads and Supper grilled, steamed or baked veggies.  Continue drinking 2 liters of spring water a day and take my supplements.

This go round of the Daniel Diet has been a tough one for me.  Rough.  I am struggling.  Yesterday's food was good, but mentally I have been struggling wanting junk food.  We had Spaghetti Squash with meatless Spaghetti Sauce for Supper.  Ate enough to be full.  It was a warm meal and I shouldn't complain.  Popcorn for Snack.  Lots of water.

Today, I had peanut butter, pineapple juice and a V8 for Breakfast.  Lunch will be baked Sweet Potato cubes and Brussel Sprouts sprinkled with Pecans.  Water.  Supper...I'm thinking about it.  Probably a crunchy Salad.

Retraining my brain and mouth of munching on fruit when I get the urge to pop a cookie in my mouth.  I'm badly missing my tea.  This is a tough thing to skip.  Hot Tea and COLD TEA.  Crunchy toast.  Savory Meat.  This will pass and I'll be alright.  Being half way through the fast is uplifting to me.  What have I learned?  Things I can't put into words.  Healing thoughts.

I'm alright with eating huge salads.  I will stay the course after the 21 days are up.  The water the same.  These have become easy for me over time.  I believe I will have lost ten pounds by the end of the 21 plan.  A BAG OF POTATOES.  Glory.  I stepped on the scales and 8 pounds have left the building since December 31st.  I'm hopeful a full 10 pounds will be gone on January 21st.

Take my shoes off and get comfortable with weight loss knowing that it takes work, changing of lifestyles and movement.  Some people are naturally slim.  Exercising and dieting are second nature to some then there are peeps like me that it is a complete overhaul required with lifestyle from the foods eaten and the movement enforced because I am not BOUNCINGing with gusto.

Here's to another folksy venture,

DECORATING

I knew a very frugal Lady named Edith that shared with me a excellent guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls, and the windows have nice curtains, you'll have an attractive room."

John 3:7

“Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.”

King James Version (KJV)

PSALM 118:17

I shall not die,
but live, and declare
the works of the Lord.

PROVERBS 24:3-4

By wisdom
a house is built,
and through understanding

it is established;
through
knowledge

its rooms are filled with rare

and beautiful treasures.

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.

WISHES

NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH with all your might that the something devastating that happened in your life hadn't happened and want so badly to go back in time to prevent it from happening...it isn't humanly possible to do this. You can't change the fact that it happened. IT DID. But JESUS can change the MEANING of what happened to you and give you PEACE. He can show you the way in which you are to go. God richly BLESS you. ~Deanna
