THE SATURDAY BETWEEN GOOD FRIDAY AND RESURRECTION SUNDAY is going to be very slow paced and quiet for us as EASTER is on Sunday. We are exhausted from traveling to Des Moines this past week and HOME again in a quick trip to see my 93 year old MOM.
Had a great visit though. Ate well. Had nice conversations and slept pretty good. We stayed 3 nights. Left to go to Des Moines on Tuesday and returned HOME on GOOD FRIDAY. On Thursday my sister, our Mom and I went shopping. Sister tracked our steps and we all walked a mile and a quarter. We were proud that we had put a mile in. Especially my MOM.
The previous day on Wednesday, I walked 2 different times in the day traveling two miles altogether in the hallway of Mom's community.
With SUNDAY near, I might head out sometime during the day to walk that mile I need to as much as possible. A start date again of watchful eating.
I gave my Mom her EASTER TREAT and I have to finish up my youngest Grandson's. Ran out of cellophane to cover it. I think I'll save it to give to him after EASTER as he will receive a basket from his family on Easter.
Traveling back to Kansas happened. We went through Topeka on the way HOME and stopped off at GOD'S STOREHOUSE. I purchased a few things thinking this is a great haul and it was. For $6.50 I bought an oversized duck that I placed on a piece of furniture in the LIVING ROOM.
I joyfully journeyed HOME. Ready to be back in our territory.
Saturday.
There was a EASTER EGG HUNT this morning and we went to watch. THE WAIT WAS LONG.
Our littlest Grand was so excited that he forgot about us. He was more into the eggs than loving on Granny.
He was rather FAST at hunting the eggs. So quick that the HUNT was over before it seemed to start. The excitement the children felt while the HUNT was taking place was FUN.
There was a PETTING ZOO afterwards with baby lambs, calves, a pig, duck, kittens. Baked goods were for sale as many local people were present for the Saturday events. I've been attending this yearly event for years. Since Lil Miss was a toddler. She's now 18.
The week to come will be active and I think I need a slower pace. EASTER. Medical appointment for hubby. I'm taking laundry to the laundry-mat so I can catch up. There'll be a TRACK MEET and my Oklahoma Grandson will attend PROM. Pictures please. And I'll WALK throughout the week. Amen.
SO as I slow my pace this week-end and allow a time to rest, I'll embrace quiet on EASTER. The Lord is risen. He's risen indeed. Praise the LORD.
SUNDAY. I can think long and hard on the resurrection of Jesus. He is risen indeed. Beautiful spiritual story to share with all. There is HOPE in Jesus and it is pure JOY.
