OCTOBER ARRIVES

WAITING FOR THE MIDNIGHT HOUR I was awake as OCTOBER arrived quietly in the night.  No storm or winds blowing.  Peacefully in the dark she crept in to my life so I went to bed to cover up my head.  Autumn present.

Cooler temps late into the evening and early morning hours are welcomed as the long hot Summer symptoms wear on into AUTUMN and now OCTOBER.  Leaves have baked by being overheated from the sun's rays and humidity baking crunchy curls that fall to the ground.  AUTUMN is falling.

Late Summer blended into early Autumn on the calendar as well as in the out of doors.  AUTUMN arrived and marched into the beginning of October.  Here she be.

My OVER CROWDED calendar has many commitments that I wish I could ignore, but need to be realistic with medical appointments and doctor's visits.  Makes my head spin how crowded the calendar is becoming.  This first week of the month is no exception.  I just phoned my doctor's nurse in which I got a recorded message.  I am in hopes to have a prescription refilled without having to return to the physical building where a brief encounter would take place and a prescription faxed into the pharmacy.  I left my info and will see if the nurse phones me back before I head out the door.

I have sat in my recliner this morning icing my aching heels with cloth covered tea towels.  Both heels are in discomfort.  Heating the back of my neck with a rice filled sock that was nuked in the microwave for two minutes gives some relief to whatever is going on there.  A week ago I finished a round of strong antibiotics for a sinus infection, but have a slight temperature today with the base of my skull aching and a tell tale sign of discolored snot as I blew my nose.  Headache time.  So I believe my infection doesn't want to go away.

This is the pits.  When I have an infection in my body, I have signs of irritation and sometimes blah ness.  With as old as I am, paying attention to the symptoms shouldn't be ignored.  I have a problem with not wanting to admit that I wear down so easily and frequently.

Is it that my immune system is worn the heck out?  Is it what I'm eating?  I will be writing down some blood test that I'd like to have done.  Can I get to the bottom of this?  Should I be checked for food allergies?  Give up gluten?  Be checked for MTHFR gene mutation?  Is my body not absorbing the nutrients needed?  Too much stress?  Adrenaline Fatigue?  Cortisol?

I believe I need to study the word of God and read what a person is to eat or not eat.  The way our food is produced these days, the soil not having the nutrients it needs because of farming practices these days, the fertilizers that are being used, the crops being molested by GMOs, the chemicals being used....makes a person wonder.  The water isn't pure.  Chemicals overflow into the aquifer.  I fear we are KILLING ourselves by what and how our food chain is being treated along with what's in the water.

SO I ask myself....SELF, DO YOU KNOW more then you are letting on?  Are you behaving like a half wit even though you know more than the average bear?

You can believe that you are eating and drinking healthily and when push comes to shove, hidden info is revealed and you actually are not eating and drinking healthily.  Take nutrients, take vitamins and minerals.  Think you're doing a healthy thing to find out that the synthetic vitamins do not absorb the same as natural.

Eat organic.  You find out the organic chickens you are eating are not fed healthy food, but junk.  They need to be free range not caged and fed healthy grains.  Grains that are not GMO grains.  So the chicken you are eating came from chickens that ate GMO grains.

Gluten free yourself?

You're told to drink more water.  So you decide to drink more water just to find out that fluorides added to the water are a monster that you have been brain washed to accept and believe is alright for you.

What's an endocrine disruptors?  Derailing what?

The plastic the bottled spring water is stored in isn't a great thing cause the plastics leach chemicals into the water contaminating the water with chemicals that you drink.  Will fluoride calcify your pineal gland?  My what?

Does a calcified pineal gland cause dementia, Alzheimers?  Health issues that turn you into a cash cow for the illuminati?  Is Lucifer your god?

Fake food, chemically loaded food, pesticides galore, GMO altered food, polluted drinking water, synthetic vitamins.....pesticides laced fabrics that you wear.  Radio frequencies...the better to fry you with.

Overload.  Overload.  Too much information.  Deanna, you sound like a nut case.  Debbie Downer here with Susie Sunshine.  There has to be a happy medium.

Susie Sunshine, What do you have to say about all this?
Do you have a ray of HOPE for me?

Our Tenth Year Here

This will be our tenth Halloween in this old rock house.  Harvest time has come.  Something about this time of year that I enjoy about the month of October is watching the tiny children dress up and go looking for candy at the HOMES of neighbors, friends and family.

It has gotten very popular to go to shopping malls, nursing homes and individual shops to trick or treat for safety reasons.  I remember trick-or-treating as a child and as my own children had this activity.  One dear Lady in Liberal, Kansas made HOME-MADE Popcorn Balls and was trust worthy.  We looked forward to visiting her place in the cool of the evening as we knocked on her sweet door.  She was one nice LADY!!!

I enjoy the children at my door.  KNOCK KNOCK....

My dear Daughter and Grand arrived at our HOME nine years ago.  It was a bitter sweet arrival as her Husband no longer wanted to be married.  Day by day we walked with her through this tough time and gave her a softer place to land than to stay in Oklahoma.  I came out of part-time retirement to provide childcare for a very active baby.  I started Babysitting LIL MISS as she turned one.  She's now almost ten.  I blink my eyes and wonder how quickly the time passed.

It was a different experience for my Husband and me to be around a growing Grandchild and see her every day plus a grown Daughter.  Mixed emotions are still in my soul as to what my Daughter went through.  Mixed emotions run deep.  God hears my prayers and He is the one that comforts me.  Yes, He is the one.

Lil Miss was a bundle of energy and there were days that I had to take a nap right along side her as I was exhausted.  I  helped potty train her, draw and color, read stories to her, made up stories to tell her, fed her, fixed her snacks, played, tea party time, carried her, sang to her, dressed her, worked on manners, etc. etc. etc. as a Grandmother combination Nanny to her.   AND all those sweet questions she had to ask were ever entertaining to me.

When she started school I had a little more free time that allowed me to behave as a matronly Lady doing her housework, paper work, decorating, blogging, etc.  The time flew.

Lil Miss hasn't lived under our roof for 4 years now.  Time keeps flying by.  I have to deliberately take time to sip a hot cup of coffee and stare out the window to watch the winds blow the leaves about.  Seasons come and seasons go.  I do miss hearing her voice each day and seeing her manage the things she does.

As we continue to downsize, I am working at making peace with this time in LIFE.  Still have a lot of papers to still go through and THIN OUT.  The dishes.  Glassware.  The clothing.  The furniture.  Music, movies, books.  Pictures to get organized.  Etc. Etc. Etc.

I'm working at getting a more streamed lined kitchen where I don't have so many things to house.  I believe I can do this and be more productive at being more efficient.

Harvest Time is near.  Crisper temps and sweaters to wear.  Although it was nearly 90 degrees here in our quaint small town america nestled in the heart of the Flint Hills.  As I look outside the window, the leaves on this one tree are blended yellow and green with some bare branches.  Sigh.  I'm never quite ready for the freezing snow, but pause today to enjoy this summery like Autumn.

Sipping my tasteful coffee, I will eat left-overs tonight for Supper and WATCH PBS Poldark!  Doesn't that sound like a nice evening before I watch the Presidential Debate this week.

Hubby and I are still DEBATING on what to do about Retirement Cottage.  I love the small cottage, but in order to fit into it much still must be let go of.  MUCH.  It is what it is and I pray that we will decide soon what we are doing as we face retirement.

Praying for God's guidance as to what to do and when to do it.

This week I MUST purchase some miniature chocolate candy bars for our trick-or-treaters.  Herseys is my favorite.  No more than we have at the door, I might buy full size candy bars to give away.  Shall see how this goes.

With the Holidays coming, I have much cleaning to do.  Thanksgiving is about a month away.  The Guest room will get cleaned and readied for company so I have this completed.

Today I went through what seemed like a TON of old papers, thinning them out and needing to file the papers that I keep.  It's a tender time to look at old pictures of my family.  Makes me smile and makes me cry.

My Mother stopped by on Saturday on her way HOME.  She left my dear Dad in the car as we chatted for a short time.  Dad is failing big time.  He told her he was dying.  He gets so weak he cannot walk well.  He has had spells like this before where he says he's ill and dying then cannot explain where or how he hurts.  Mom has taken him to the hospital so many times ...he checks out fine.

He does not know me.  If I shall out live my Daddy...then I will cry, but until then I mustn't.  He is still here with us.  My Mom's back is giving out on her.  She's shopping for a LIFT CHAIR.  Still she will need help getting him on the toilet and off.  At present they live in a two bedroom apartment.  Dad would get more confused if they moved at this time.  I need to research things that will help them both live a little easier way.

Today is Mom and Dad's 68th wedding anniversary and my in laws' 65th.  Same anniversary just different years.  Both had 4 children and our first born was their first grandchild.  More similarities.  grins.

Let the night roll in.....I'm ready for a quiet evening.  Goulash awaits me!  Oh, I mustn't forget Poldark on PBS.  What do you suppose will happen this episode?

Blessings from my Parmily,
d

October

via internet

I think it's outrageous.  (For the Better)
Small town LIVING strikes again.

I have television and internet.  Land line telephone and snail mail.
ALL helping me stay in touch as I enjoy a peaceful home life.
With Lil Miss attending school, I have some time to go at a different pace.

The silence isn't deafening....it's refreshing.
After 4 and a half years of being in high gear and baby sitting,
I can slow my pace a tad.

The cooler temps are blowing in.  Window open and feeling the breeze.
Haven't had the television on today.
Worked on paperwork and bills.
Working on a profit improvement phase as I head toward being a 60 year old.
There was victory today as I paid off 4 medical bills.
sigh....there are some remaining, but I need to rejoice.  These are done.
It's an ongoing thing.

I returned from going to TOWN to mail a package, buy some stamps, mail some bills,
go to the Bank and take a short drive all in about 20 minutes.
Rolled the car windows down.
The wind is swirling about and some leaves are blowing.
Leaves trickle downwards to cover the street.
If I could just sit on a bench without being noticed, I would.

This past week-end, I had my work clothes on as Hubby and I went through things in the cellar, garage and storage unit.  Retrieving Seasonal items to decorate the Porch and House with for Autumn.  Sorting through things to depart with.  Having thoughts of being better organized by this time next year.  It truly will be a big project organizing these neglected areas.

Time to crank it up....Lil Miss coming HOME from School.
Wonder what she will share with me this afternoon.

God Bless You All.
It's FALL,
d

DECORATING

I knew a very frugal Lady named Edith that shared with me a excellent guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls, and the windows have nice curtains, you'll have an attractive room."

John 3:7

Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.

King James Version (KJV)

PSALM 118:17

I shall not die,
but live, and declare
the works of the Lord.

PROVERBS 24:3-4

By wisdom
a house is built,
and through understanding

it is established;
through
knowledge

its rooms are filled with rare

and beautiful treasures.

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.

WISHES

NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH with all your might that the something devastating that happened in your life hadn't happened and want so badly to go back in time to prevent it from happening...it isn't humanly possible to do this. You can't change the fact that it happened. IT DID. But JESUS can change the MEANING of what happened to you and give you PEACE. He can show you the way in which you are to go. God richly BLESS you. ~Deanna
