Welcome to HomeHaven! Tonight there were beautiful white lilies in bloom in the front flower bed. May produced Lilacs in bloom on the bush out by the Garage. Beautiful yellow and purple Irises shot up beside the sidewalk fence. Too soon the blooms dried up.
Sunday's rains were hard on the Peonies and they were late in blooming.
The splashes of pink from the Redbud Trees have vanished and are covered with green leaves and seed pods. We'll harvest some of these seeds when the time is right. The Tulips have long disappeared. The Mums are showing buds already. Seems way too early for this. Our May temperatures were hotter than I like and it seems like July instead of June.
Still we have been able to leave the air conditioners OFF and get by with ceiling fans and the windows open.
This week has just flown by and I am delighted that Friday is HERE. Thursday evening my sweet husband and I went out for some time alone and had a hamburger in PAXICO, KANSAS at the Ramblin Rose. Drove on over to TOPEKA to shop. It was in TARGET that mean 'ole Mother Nature paid me a visit with no warning. It's been months since she was sooooo mean to me. When the storm hit, I practically ran to the Ladies Room...took care of business and rushed to the car. Took 800mg of Ibuprofen just like I was told to do. Our 30 minute drive home was alright until I got out of the car and Mother Nature decided to slam dunk me again.
I'm praying for an uneventful night and feeling better in the morning. I have had a rough time being peri-menopausal and this is a story of it's own. Truly tough to go through.
I was so hoping that this part of peri-menopause was over and done with. I was hoping that by the time I turned 55 I would officially be a member of I'M OVER WITH THAT THANG and I have experienced the change of LIFE. My 55th birthday is July 14th so I'm not sure I will get my birthday wish.
This week included Memorial Day, Grandson Aiden ill...in and out of the Hospital, admitting that I am truly out of shape, and a phone call from the Nurse informing me that the throat sonogram does reveal a multitude of nodules in the thyroid and a scan needs to be done. Haven't heard about the echocardiogram results yet. My thyroid may be messed up and this can contribute to Mother Nature's cruel attacks on me...like what happened at Target. I was a TARGET at Target.
What I did this week that was good for me:
This week I ate more salads and vegetables.
I drank more V8s for my 3 in the afternoon veggie break.
Drank more water and cut WAAAYYYYYY back on the coffee.
I walked more.
This coming week I hope to do the same, but add being better at taking my vitamins and cutting back on bread.
Eating slower and eating smaller portions.
A walking journal started.
Quietly sitting alone and have devotions while the Lil Miss is napping.
Go to bed earlier.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL and may you have a sweet week-end. I can't wait to show you what I purchased when I went JuNkIn'!!!!!
