Last night after we left a memorial service, we drove around the Marion County Lake. The orange sunset was spectacular and I had no camera with me.
I ached. I cannot discribe the beauty. God's creation is spectacular...spectacular.
A glorious sight. Beautiful and peaceful.
We went to my Folk's apartment and visited with loved ones until 9pm.
It's a TRADITION to pick up a bottle of cold Chocolate Milk and a Krueller for the road trip back to HomeHaven. To me it's eye candy to see leaves gently swirling and blowing across the road we're traveling on. Though it was hot out the leaves remind me that Fall will be here in a month. The color orange starts talking to me.
One way for me to cool off from these horribly HOT SUMMER NIGHTS is to take evening drives about the Flinthills. I love this when the sun is about to set and night is creeping in. These pics of Kansas Cows and Horses are from earlier in the Summer. Kansas cows and horses...wish I was a COWGIRL! There I said it...after all these years I want to have a pair of cowboy boots and wear a hat while riding a horse across the wide open spaces on the Prairie as I look out across the rolling hills of Kansas. DAUGHTER'S PIE CRUST RECIPE
Pie Crust Recipe.
With her permission I share her recipe with you. BLESS your family, friends and your taste buds with this wonderful crust.
Pie Crust Recipe
1 cup flour
3 heaping tablespoons of shortening
A dash of salt
A tiny bit of ice cold water
Mix ingredients together well.
Roll out on wax paper.
Assemble pie.
Spread a little milk on top of crust before baking.
Simply delicious,
