GREY SKIES THIS MORNING as I sit and type. GREY. Not depressing. Simply lovely. Around 40 degrees with a high today of 46. Looking outside it appears to be blurrier since I have an ointment in my eye from having a cyst removed yesterday at TOPEKA. I'm not sure I'm going to like this medicine in my eye for two weeks. Perhaps I can do a better job of applying it to the corner of my eye where the cyst used to be.
Surgically removed yesterday afternoon. Went well. The deadening shots made my upper eyelid feel like someone had scotched taped the upper eye lashes and eyelid open. Didn't hurt, but was uncomfortable. Felt better after having a nap. The special effects were gone. No soreness this morning.
When the doctor was surgically removing the cyst, I had to think about staring at the ceiling and praying all would go well. I liked the doctor and was very contented when the surgery was over. This cyst has been there for over three years. Back in October of 2019 I saw this doctor with a wait and see on the cyst. Waiting a year was in the middle of co vid.
Waited another year and here I be. Visiting with me he told me the options I had just like he did in 2019. This time I said to take it out. Consent form signed and away we went. Cyst out. Now to heal.
Hubby and I went for an early supper at APPLE BEES for Blackened Cajun Salmon, broccoli and mashed potatoes. Ate quickly as we were needing to pick up the prescription ointment before the Pharmacy closed for the evening. Successful trip to Pharmacy and HOME.
By this time I was ready to nap. The eye felt odd with the upper eye lashes feeling like they were taped open even with it not being so. I slept a couple of hours and then falling asleep for the night was challenging. This morning when I woke up the lashes were all better, but then the ointment went in and the rest is history. I have blurry vision due to the ointment.
Taking it easy this Saturday. Paperwork and Christmas ornaments removed from the big tree. Still have to put these away in storage boxes. I sat as Husband's clothing that he no longer wants were taken off the hangers and rolled to be bagged and donated. Going out the door for next week's donations.
I rewatched a video about a old fashioned Victorian Christmas. This morning it was most enjoyable and helped me to relax knowing how to decorate our next year's tree...Baked orange slices, cinnamon bundles, popcorn and cranberry garland, baked cookies, baked cookies...tin stars.
Before my eye appointment yesterday, I wanted to go back to St. Marys, KS to 37 PINE SHoPPE to purchase greenery that was 40% off. I knew I wanted 4 cedar looking sprigs. Bitter cold out. Since my hair was still drying, my dear husband went inside to purchase the greenery and came back out to the car with 6 instead of 4. The items were 50% off on Friday so I was happy that he made the decision to purchase 6 instead of 4. Placed them into the trunk of the car and drove happily to my doctor's appointment.
The greenery sprigs were like these on the shelf and if you look into the reflection in the mirror that is the chandelier we bought on Thursday. Bitter cold JANUARY here on the Prairie.
Today the two Christmas trees in our Living room are still up with only twinkle lights sparkling. Until next week the trees remain up. I wanted to have Epiphany with the trees still up. SO be it. We did it. Now greenery about the rooms will be dealt with. The garland around the front door will stay until the end of the month. That's just 3 weeks away.
We are having bitter cold weather this Winter. Like I say, we're one day closer to Spring. The days are a little brighter each day. Now it doesn't get dark until quarter til 6.
Winter time is a great time to get indoor things done. Thinning out closets. Christmas decor downsized and put away. Thoughts on gardening. Sewing. Drawing. Remodeling a Cottage. Gathering ideas to make happen. Learning a foreign language. Maybe practicing what I already know.
Watched again a mystery thriller movie that we saw at the theatre back in 2006, The Prestige with Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Michael Caine, David Bowie, Scarlett Johansson, and Rebecca Hall.
It was like watching the movie for the first time. I couldn't remember the movie. ha. Not even the ending. Liked it. I'd give it an A.
I have watched the newest version of LITTLE WOMEN twice. Will watch again as I love the interior decorating of their cottage. My cottage is smaller than theirs. Still gathering ideas to use in our COTTAGE.
I haven't ever experienced having two places to decorate at the same time. Taxes my brain.
