MADE A QUICK TRIP TO MANHATTAN. Turned out to take longer to run errands, but back HOME before two in the afternoon. Grabbed a protein box from Starbucks because...well, I was hungry. 2 boiled eggs, tart apple slices and honey peanut butter, multigrain muesli bread with 2 small slices of white cheddar. They had substituted the grapes with a clementine. Skipped the little clementine. Saved it for later. Iced Green Tea. Patting myself on the back saying, "You go girl!" with some pride. I have to be my own cheerleader at times and today was one of those days.
ON A STRETCH to eating healthier and better for me. I may be heavy on the outside, but I am striving to be healthier on the inside and believe that with doing this, I will lose some weight naturally. Praying so. Falling in love with veggies and finding it easier to skip or eat way smaller amounts of carbs. THAT in itself is a miracle.
Yesterday when I fixed and ate a large salad at 1, it carried me all day until 9 at night. No hunger pains. I was amazed and will do this again. I changed it up a bit. Used spinach instead of kale. Sliced the spinach into smaller pieces. Added cottage cheese, chick peas, handful of mixed nuts, and black beans. Broccoli. Skipped the 3 bean salad and avocado. No dressing. No tomatoes. I went to town to get some organic radishes, carrots, couple bags of kale and cherry tomatoes in Topeka. All organic.
Some from Aldi and some from Natural Grocers. Actually, I do feel better eating organic and less processed foods. I have been craving radishes. Will thinly slice them and drizzle olive oil and garlic over them then bake. What a delicious and nutritious side dish this will be.
I stopped at GOD'S STOREHOUSE for Senior Day and picked up eight very nice steak knives for under $12. VINTAGE Carvel Hall with paperwork. TREAT. The steak knives we have are not as nice as these so I felt very good about this purchase. They were even in a decent box. My camera is out in the car, so I'll snap a picture later of my spoils. Tadaah.
We are eating larger portions of vegetables and actually liking this.
I started taking apple cider vinegar tablets with water and my foot that has ached for 20 months has stopped aching just like that! I could cry. It's wonderful that my feet are not aching and I can walk better. PRAISE GOD! Stretches are one thing, but for the feet to completely stop aching...I can say hallelujah and a half.
According to health line: Apple cider vinegar has various healthful properties, including antimicrobial and antioxidant effects. What’s more, evidence suggests it may offer health benefits, such as aiding weight loss, reducing cholesterol, lowering blood sugar levels, and improving the symptoms of diabetes.
My cholesterol is elevated. I am now diabetic. I need to loose weight. I will use apple cider vinegar to help with these things. Now my feet have stopped aching. Achilles tendonitis in the heels. Ached for 20 months. AND that has stopped. I hope it continues to not ache! I have had such discomfort over the last 20 months that I didn't walk very much do to my feet.
Now I have to tend to my back and get to being better. I'll do some physical therapy next week and see what the therapist says.
Off to work on the COTTAGE. Afternoon chores and then back HOME for supper. Paperwork and laundry as well.
Here's to a healthier you,
