~GOOD FRIDAY~
Only ONE is good enough to save us.
His name is Jesus.
That He did so is cause indeed for celebration.
What does GOOD FRIDAY mean to you?
Thankful that the day is Friday and that makes it a good day because the week-end is coming?
Or something else?
To me GOOD Friday leads up to celebrating Easter on Sunday.
Thoughts are on the risen LORD and what all that means is good.
Easter eggs and Easter Baskets are part of the celebration of LIFE and represent new beginnings in Christ.
What I found out as I researched the WHYs of why the Friday before Easter is called GOOD goes as follows:
Good Friday is a day of sorrow mingled with joy. It's a time to grieve over the sin of man and to meditate and rejoice upon God's love in giving His only Son, Jesus, for the redemption of sin.
Good Friday is the Friday before Easter in the Christian Calendar. It commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus and his death at Calvary. The Friday preceding Easter Sunday and may coincide with the Jewish observance of Passover also known as BLACK Friday, HOLY Friday, GREAT Friday or EASTER Friday.
The name of "Good Friday" may have come from the Gallican Church in Gaul (modern France and Germany) from the name GUTE FREITAG. It's Germanic in origin and literally means "good" or "holy" Friday. The second possibility is the variation on the word "God's Friday," where the word 'good' was used to replace the word 'God' which was viewed as too holy to be spoken aloud.

God gave us His only begotten Son, Jesus as the way to enter into a rightful relationship with God.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus) that whosoever believeth in him,
shall not perish, but have everlasting LIFE.

This is something that does NOT wear out or wear down,
but lifts us up to a higher place and allows us to live a more excellent way.
What happens to a person's soul after they are born anew may not be seen by human eye,
but it's a newness that regenerates one's spirit.
The fruit that comes from this will eventually show.
