Home Haven has been up to her elbows 

in making Meatloaf!

Can you believe anybody takes making Meatloaf as serious as we are?

Grins.

Truthfully it's all in fun and me being goal oriented says I will just show up and call it good.

This will be the third year the Home Haven Gals has entered 

the Paxico, Kansas Meatloaf Festival.

Last year was a hoot as I was determined to show up with a meatloaf in hand.  

Long story short my meatloaf fell apart as it was dumped onto a serving dish. 

I mean fell apart like crazy bad.  Quickly I got the night befores trial loaf out of the fridge 

and decorated it to have a picnic theme including giant ants.

IT WAS DARLING!!!

Due to time getting away from us, the drive and check in time being at 11 am

.....the meatloaf went cold.

AREN'T meatloaf sandwiches for a picnic usually cold?  

Well the Judges didn't have a sense of humor and they didn't like the meatloaf cold.  

We didn't place.  Shucks.

The first year we entered, we showed up with a piping hot meatloaf simply in a dish and when Daughter and I entered the room, 

there were meatloaves 

from out of this world decorated!  

We looked at each other and our hearts sank.

Been doing my homework and not sure which recipe we will go with this year, 

but look what I found on the internet:   

Hopefully we will go in style and accomplish our goal of showing up with Meatloaf in hand!

Making ourselves some cute aprons for keeps.

I'll let 'cha know how it all goes this year.

That area in front of the porch got some Hostas.

It's a semi-shady area and the Hostas seem to like this.

Hubby took a Hosta and split it three ways and planted her in this area.  

So far she has taken.

Hoping to get some grass planted in the Fall or early Spring next year.  

Just have to see how all the projects come together.

Pink Geraniums are planted and sitting on the front porch to greet you.

Makes me smile.

You know we love you.

This part of Kansas has Buffalos roaming the range 

and oversized WHITE ones at that!

A first for sure.

A new OLD piece of furniture made her way to our place.

Will have to rearrange the Master Bedroom, 

but pretty sure you will be making your new home upstairs!

I heard that the CD my little group of friends sang for 

will be coming out soon and a copy will be given to the Governor of Kansas on Friday. 

This is to celebrate the 150th year of Kansas becoming a state.  

Wonder what he will think of it?  ANY WHOOOOO.......

I go to the Thyroid Doctor on Thursday.

Hum.  Not excited about this.  

In fact I'm getting grumpy about the whole thing.

Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to make another attempt 
at making a prize winning meatloaf.
Before this is all done, I'm sure we'll all be saying, "MEATLOAF AGAIN?"
And to that I will have to say, "YES and you're gonna love it."
