THREE DOWN and TWO TO GO

GETTING A BREAK ON WEDNESDAY FROM MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS.  PTL.  Then the last two for the week will take place.  Labs and Medicare Exam.  Next week will be our regular yearly physical.  Lord willing, we will get a long break from appointments.  Hoping.

On Tuesday, Hubby met with a Orthopedic Surgeon about his foot that has caused him excessive pain since January.  After a Primary Care Physician appointment, X-rays, Orthopedic Surgeon Appointment, Orthopedic shoes and inserts made, a different Orthopedic Surgeon, MRI done where a lesion was found, icing it, and NSAIDS taken for months, a Cortisone Shot was finally given.  Still a mystery about what is taking place.  The Surgeon is stumped. 

Hubby will phone them in two weeks to report how the foot feels and then go from there.  Shall see and pray.  

Afterwards we had a big lunch and did some shopping.  Went to a grocery store for some cucumbers and to the Dollar Store for ETERNAL WATER.  Stopped off at HOBBY LOBBY.  

THIS WILL BE MY GARDENING SEAT.

Talked about getting a gardener's bench so I can sit on it while pulling weeds and grass out of the flowerbeds after the lawn has been treated for chiggers.  ARBOR FREIGHT had a roller seat that was a good price.  Got it.  Drove to a different community looking for BLUE POPCORN.  Found some.  Drove on HOME to rest and unload our spoils.

Before I rested, I decided to finish planting the Coleus I got the day before.  It filled in nicely the bare spot in the urn.  Watered the porch plants and admired their beauty.  

My Mom telephoned me for a chat.  She'll be coming to visit in a couple of weeks.  This will put the fire under me to get more done on tidying the COTTAGE.  It will be really nice to have her come for a stay.  

NOW, I have got to get the laundry completely done so I have a sense of being with the program and have my act together.  The Kitchen can be tidied some more for sure.  The Dining room will look like humans have a place to dine.  The small bedroom will have the appearance of being an actual bedroom and the door will be closed to the Master Bedroom as we have not even started setting it up.  Right now, it's a storage room.  oops.  The bathroom will be completed or nearly so before my 92 year old momma comes to visit.  The Living room is done.  The porch is done.  

We have two weeks.

WE HAD COMPANY!

I LOVE ME SOME COMPANY!  Loving my family.  Gramps got the youngest grandchild's attention with that 'ole computer.  

As you can see the moving boxes have piled up in the background ready to be moved.  I need a better attitude as I am dragging my feet and not at all excited about the heave-ho of it all.  I know it's got to be moved, so I had best get after it.

We're hauling some boxes today to get them out of the main house.  I pray we are successful.  So much to still move.

PEACE AND QUIET

THE MONTH OF AUGUST IS OFF AND RUNNING.  Better the month than me.  I'm not running.  Sitting mostly.  The month will do its own thing and fly right on by making my head spin.  The rest of me can just sit.  I plan to walk each day and rest more than usual. Recovery is going well as well can be.

Waiting for company to arrive.  Hubby will fix the beverages and lunch as I will not be attempting to do any such thing.  We'll eat off of Chinette plates and use throw away cups.  No dishes to wash.  Here they are.  Will pause and return later.

I didn't manage to get a photo of us together.  Don't know how that happened.  I haven't seen them in 5 years.  Much to talk about.  

Two and a half hour visit with my Mom and Colorado cousins from the Denver area.  Went fast. Enjoyed having them here to talk to and visit with was a nice treat.  Lunch was deli sliced turkey and ham with two types of cheese, grapes and sun chips.  Nice time.  Need a nap, but think I had best stay awake as I have a telecom visit for a follow up from surgery at 4pm.

This is a first.  Went onto the sight to fill out questionnaire and stats.  Visited their sight early to make sure I know how to pop on.  Hope it all goes well then I can relax and take that coveted NAP.  The visit was almost over before it started.  

Walking in the evening will be needed.  Think this day will vanish before I know it.  Tis cloudy today and in the 90s.  The lawn is getting mowed.  I think I'll take some taped boxes upstairs and drop some light weighted items in them.  I'll leave the box to where my hubby can haul them down stairs.  

Tomorrow, perhaps I can go through some more papers to pitch.  I'm getting in the mood to pitch more things and donate to charity.  It seems like I have been at this MOVE longer than long.  This has been a very long ordeal this move to the COTTAGE.  Thankful we have a working air conditioner to stay out of the heat with.

I'd like to just sit in silence tomorrow listening to the fan blow across my feet.  It's a more peaceful place without the television or radio playing.  It amazes me that I took so many years before I just sat in the quietness of our haven and allowed myself to listen to nothing.  Peace and quiet.
