IN A NUT SHELL.
AFTER RESTING 3 DAYS FROM THE ST. LOUIS ADVENTURE, I am feeling better. Ready to travel again.
Woke early, got around and headed to TOPEKA. I needed to make a BANK stop first to cash some birthday checks I received. Then onto TOPEKA I drove.
Beautiful SUMMER day. Didn't seem so HOT. We had planned to eat at FIRST WATCH. I didn't want a chicken salad so I went with AVOCADO TOAST and two eggs. I wished I had told the waitress to have the eggs hard instead of runny. Oops. I suffered through the runny eggs. I did order a KALE TONIC with an extra dose of vitamin goodness.
Their KALE TONIC is probably the least liked drink for me, but I wanted the veggies and vitamin boost for a pick me up. Bellies full and off we went to shop at GOD'S STOREHOUSE. Little was bought at 20% discount. I did get a wicker magazine rack which I have wanted for a while. NATURAL GROCERS was next and onto SAMS where I bought a nicely made LONDON FOG RAIN COAT. I haven't had a rain coat like forever since I was a little girl. At 70 I know tis old enough to have one's own rain coat and galoshes. Splish splash. ☔
Getting late in the afternoon so we stopped at TACO TICO for a quick eat then went to WALMART to finish our shopping adventure.
The visit to TACO TICO caused me to check what is in their taco meat when I got HOME. TVP. Textured Vegetable Protein which translates to soy flour. Another oops for me. I'll be avoiding TVP if I can even with others saying it's alright to eat as a meat extender. It gives me GAS in the worse way. 💣
Drove through ST. MARYS for an Almond Steamer. Refreshing. Picked up a prescription from the Pharmacy. When I got HOME, I checked out if OLMESARTAN can raise blood glucose and cholesterol. unhuh...it can. Well, what am I gonna do? Giving it some thought.
HOME PROJECT. I brought back a black shelf from St. Louis when I visited SAINT VINCENT de PAUL THRIFT. For under $7 I bought a cute shelf to hang on the Bathroom wall. Hubby got right on it and the results were satisfying.
Here we be already the middle of the week.
