MARRIAGE Brings On Memories

Lovely HOME on the internet.

AUTUMN is near with cooler temps to enjoy 

before it totally freezes up and Christmas blows in.

This week we will be relocating some irises, 

planting an red bud tree for our anniversary and celebrating 

42 years of marriage.

I know that I know more about marriage now than I did...

LIFE LESSONS out the ears!

Some things are not easily forgotten.

Keeping a sense of humor and dating your spouse 

through-out marriage is a must.

Even if it's a walk around the block and holding hands.

We had a very nice meal at Harry's with coffee and Cheesecake dessert to boot last Friday evening.  
Should have taken a photograph.  Harry's is one of my favorite all time places to dine 

with my Sweetheart.  Always.

AUGUST has been a HOT month with some dips into the 70s.  
THUNDERSTORMS galore that wake one up from a very deep sleep with loud kabooms.

Before long, I will sit on the front porch to sip some HOME-MADE Lemonade.   
This time of year seems to make me long for my youth.  Making present day memories takes some doin'.

Was I really YOUNG Once???

There are times that I cannot think of me being this old....at times.  In my body I am young until I get up to walk and for many reasons I cannot walk as easily as I once did.  Many times I feel like I am so young.  Then all it takes is a second glance in the mirror and I come back to the year 2016 and ALL the living I have done.

Hallelujah....I am alive!

I looked twice to see if this was a Teddy Bear 

or a real puppy dressed up.  

Decided it was a REAL Teddy Bear.

Fell head over heels in LOVE with these.

Can It Be?

As I drive the interstate seeing the trees in the landscape, 

I know the early signs of AUTUMN are here.  

The wind blows the leaves and leaves twirl downward 

revealing FALL has started.  

A tree outside my front window is showing yellow leaves
meaning they have begun to turn AUTUMN YELLOW.
I am in disbelief as it is still AUGUST.
AUTUMN COLORS usually begin in September.
~SURPRISE VILLE~

We drove to Oklahoma over the week-end 

to celebrate our youngest Grand baby's 2nd BIRTHDAY.

VERY PLEASANT drive southward in quick order.  

Hardly any traffic and we arrived right at PARTY-TIME.  

He is a sweet child which smiles really big.  

He copies EVERYTHING his older brothers do.  

EVERYTHING. 

Very observant.  

Should be easy to teach him things he will need to know about 

in his early LIFE.

Children truly are a blessing from the LORD.

How To Make A Great Cup Of COFFEE

Is there really that much to making a cup of coffee?

Yes....I'll get back to you asap.

COFFEE makes a lot of peeps HAPPY.

 

Any tips on making spectacular coffee would be appreciated!

My MOM taught me to add a dash of salt to the coffee grounds.  Salt helps with bitterness.
She did this as a young woman working the deli counter at a store many moons ago 
and was told this was the BEST COFFEE in town.

Start out with a clean percolator, cold water, add fresh coffee grounds and a dash of salt.

PERK TO PERFECTION.

A Very Full Day

 

CUTE IDEA RIGHT?  I have the glasses, the tray...just need some more candles and petals...

 LIFE is full of surprises.  Full of surprises.

Surprising my Husband that I could jump right out of my sleep and get groomed to ride along with him over to the city so I could have a day in Manhattan while he worked away.  Made for a very LONG day for me, but fun to have.  My car's air conditioning is on the fritz so I will take Hubby's auto to drive instead and stay cool in this awful Kansas HEAT.

When it begins to cool down I will rejoice this year as I have not done very well in the heat with humidity.  The leaves are beginning to fall here from the heat and yet I can see in some of the leaves that they are turning a mild shade of yellow.  Across the landscape in the country it looks like hints of Autumn are beginning.  I looked at my Scarecrows that are Porch People and thought about placing them already on the porch.  Hummm.


Traffic was thick with BACK TO SCHOOL STUDENTS.  Had to stay alert driving, because...can you believe it many don't pay attention to what they are doing while driving.

Shopped about and made it early to my doctor's appointment where I was told my TSH numbers are higher than they should be.  Shucks.  Just got them worked down.  I think STRESS and HEAT make my numbers bounce around.

IF my Summer Salad had looked like this there would have been NO PROBLEM.

Ate under a shade tree with my Sweetheart, but was sorely disappointed in the Berry SUMMER Salad from WENDY's that I had been craving.  Those 'ole TV commercial get me when it comes to SUMMER SALADS.  I won't order another one.  Was so disappointed.  

No water to drink from Restaurants due to BOIL ALERT.  Power failure and the entire city was on boil alert.  Bought some bottled water instead and sipped on it the entire day.

By the time I drove HOME, I was ready to put my feet up and unwind.

Tomorrow will be another beautiful down that the LORD has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it!

I seldom respond or make POLITICAL COMMENTS on here.....I know if I did you all would think me a bit of a conspiracy nut. 
What do you do when you are NOT for either candidate?  Who placed them in the slots in the first place?  THE ILLUMINATI???

Nesting Mixing Bowls

I WANT TO RUN THIS POST AGAIN AFTER I HAD SUCH FUN RESEARCHING ABOUT PYREX CORNING NY USA CLEAR BOTTOM NESTING MIXING BOWLS AND ADDED SOME MORE INFO ON HERE.  Sooooo here goes......

This has nothing to do with Pyrex, but thought she looked mighty interesting wearing that get-up on her head...huh?  Will this be the next FIRST LADY???

I had no idea there were so many styles.......As wedding gifts 42 years ago we received a set of green with white flowers nesting mixing bowls, some refrigerator boxes and Corelle dishes.

Out of a storage box you came.

I had forgotten you existed.

Primary colors plus one are vivid.

I washed you in the kitchen sink and sat you out to admire.

You'll not go back into the storage box.

Never.

A treasure to find.

More to come out of the cellar.

Plus, my dear sweet Hubby brought up a box 

that held some of my tea pots that I have not seen 

for 9 and a half years.

I am in shock.

My jaw dropped.

9 and a half years.....we looked and looked and looked

for these tea pots for years.  I was beginning to think they were lost forever.  Almost a decade has passed.

Felt like finding a long lost friend,

Chandy Needs Cleaned

My adventures to find the coveted 
HAGERTY Chandelier Cleaner got ugly.

I visited quite a few stores looking for chandy cleaner 

and found NOTHING.

Telephoned some more shoppes.  NOTHING.

Even the lovely Lighting shop in Manhattan that sells chandeliers 

had NOTHING.

Then a very nice man at ACE HARDWARE said 

he could order me some.

It took two working days and I now have some cleaner.

I will make way to be the MAID soon and clean my chandies 

in my beloved HOME.

I was beginning to shake in my boots that I was not going to be able to buy anymore.

Dining Room Study

~I LOVE THIS~

Think I am entering into a BLUE PHASE.

What makes this room charming?

Decorated two toned ceiling.
Round Dining room table to dine at, 
and have conversation with others 
within a circular pattern.

Intimate.

Blue is a calming color in which studies have shown that it's a less stimulating color for promoting aggression.
Perhaps a taming effect would take place 
and one wouldn't be so aggressive at eating.

The light blue buffalo-checked pattern in the draperies echoes the blue upholstery in the padded chairs as well as to echo the blue from the carpet and the walls.

Padded dining room chairs would help cushion 
the body making the sitting easier on the body.

Natural lighting streams from the window 
as all the white walls, trim and fireplace colors bounces lighting.

Hard wood floors are tastefully covered 
by the area rug making it a gentler scoot to the table with more ease.

remnant thoughts

 

i ran away from home last week.....what do you mean you ran away from home?

the tireds hit me really hard as life has taken on a different spin this summer.

will explain later on what i mean by taking on a different spin.

today i will take a nap on the short sofa and catch some winks as i rest for the afternoon.

i returned home after visiting my parents in a different community.

i didn't rest worth a flip in the twin bed even though it was so clean and comfy.

i have been overly concerned about my thyroid numbers as i switched types of meds and got my numbers back on track.

they are very good, but i am very challenged by moving so slowly and not having gusto to get all that needs done...done.

making headway on bringing things out of the cellar and saying good-bye to many collected items that i no longer need or want.

it's just stuff.

still it's my stuff.

i have spent a great deal of time researching items on the computer so i know the basic worth of my stuff.

i needed a quick get away as the heat did a number on me this summer.

rains came and cooler weather did as well.

grey skies and cooler.

that's a plus.

hair will get a wash and there will be curlers in my hair.

beautiful to see.

each time the phone rings, i think it's not so good news from my folks about my folks.

time to take a nap.
