Lord, Have Mercy on me........I have a history of BAD RESULTS with how my glasses turn out after they have been ordered and placed on my nose. I shutter.
I don't mind the eye exam so much as looking through the prescription lenses for the first time to find out the prescription isn't right or the frames are broke.
It's not one of my favorite things to do next to putting on a paper dress for a physical exam and placing my feet in stirrups.
LONG STORY SHORT....
This week, it's time for my exam. The last two times I had my eyes checked, the Doctor did a super job at getting the right prescription and my glasses were a fit. From the get go, the prescription was perfect. When I phoned to make my appointment......the Doctor no longer works there. Working for the Government. I'm not ready for what will come. I liked this Doctor. Now he's gone.
Whahhh.
Lord. Please have mercy.
Will let you know how this turns out.
I have a big head....so I think I should pick out frames with larger frames. I've had squatty frames before and liked them, but think I will go larger this time for my b i g g a head.
God Bless and here's looking at you kid,

GRANNY NANNY and Dr. Seuss
Granny Nanny here.
Hope you're having a wonderful day!
I've been a fan of Dr. Seuss for a while now.
Dr. Seuss has a MARCH birthday and turns 108 years
(i think) old on the 2nd.
Theodor Seuss Geisel wrote 44 children's books...Dr. Seuss was one of his pen names. http://www.pbskids.org/ has a Cat In The Hat game section to it and there's http://www.seussville.com/
I'm not sure where Dr. Seuss is these days, but I sure liked his children's books as a child. Still like reading his work.
So if I say Happy Birthday...you know what I mean.

DECORATING ON THE PRAIRIE: Silver Plated Tray
DECORATING ON THE PRAIRIE comes alive when new THRIFT ITEMS come home.
Danced a jig in the THRIFT SHOP when seeing this beauty marked $5.50.
Nice sized and a nice weight for a serving tray.
She's made out of a heavy metal
and when you hold her you know that you have something of substance.
I polished her up and smiled.
She's pretty!
What shall we do with you?
Hang you on the wall?
Serve loved ones a dessert?
Place lovelies on you?
Say a prayer before shopping.
The LORD allows bargains.
HaPpY Shopping.
God bless and shine on,

Officially MARRIED
What an unusual day we had on Thursday.
For the first time in 37 years of marriage we have to prove to an organization that we are legally married to one another and not SHACKING UP.
I have never had to PROVE that I was legally married to my Husband. Our word was enough. When I said I'm married...it was a reality....a truth. A cherished union.
My Hubby's Insurance Company is requesting that a Copy Of our Marriage Certificate be on file to continue having insurance with them! Well HELLO!!!
So we made a trip to the Capital of this fine State of Kansas, TOPEKA.
The sky was blue, but the wind was wild.
Lil Miss laughed as we tried to walk in the wind. A simple pleasure for a 5 year old, but seeing her LAUGH and SMILE with her face in the WIND was a treat to me as well. Fun to see and be a part of.
We started the day out by dropping some clothing off at a local Ministry that is new to Town.
Picked up the Mail.
Drove to TOPEKA.
Ate at Long John Silver's.
Went to the Capital and got a copy of our MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE.
Yes, I am officially married and it is on record. Think I will frame our copy and hang it on the Bedroom wall. I have our Wedding picture framed already.
We were on our way to go get COFFEE.......THEN IT HAPPENED.
We saw a Michael Jackson WANNA BE...'so called' dancing on the corner with his personal bicycle laying on the sidewalk. He was up...down...all around...hips gyrating in FAST MOTION X RATED fashion. NOT A PRETTY SIGHT especially while stopped at a red light.
REPEAT: NOT A PRETTY SIGHT.
He was VULGAR to say the least. STUNNED.
My TRAC PHONE doesn't allow me to call 911 to contact the police to report lewd behavior.
NOTE TO SELF: CARRY AN INDEX CARD IN HANDBAG WITH TOPEKA POLICE NUMBER ON IT FOR HELP IF NEEDED.
The man I am officially married to and I started PRAYING OUT LOUD.
At one point of wanna be's performance, I thought he was going to expose his personal plumbing to the public.
I told Lil Miss to look away and lay down so he couldn't see her. She didn't need to see this pervert acting out his fantasies for attention.
She covered her head with her blanket then we drove away.
Onto getting some coffee!
We saw a Pet Store and I decided we'd go see if there were PUPPIES. This place must have had 30 of them, cats, oversize turtle, birds, fish, snakes and lizards. It made for a fun stop.
Hobby Shop Stop in a Mall where I saw a few vintage autos. These would be fantastic to DRAG MAIN in.
MALL STOP so Lil Miss could play in the Play Area.
She worked up an appetite. Had a cookie.
Drove Home in the KANSAS WIND.
I am officially able to show you that I did indeed get married to my Sweetheart back in 1974! We have been 'Mister and Misses' for awhile now. WOWZA. My word and a signed certificate states that I am married.
I am blessed. I am not a wanna be. The Lord has known us as a married couple since 1974.
Our Marriage is bliss.

Winter On The Prairie
It's Wednesday.
Sweet Blessings to you.
Truly, in my part of the world, the weather has been dry and milder than usual. March will come and we shall see what the weather will do. Praying for some Winter moisture. Need it. Perhaps April Showers will bring May Flowers.
Reminds me of SPRING, Texas when we lived there. Some of the Winters were mild. No coats needed.
Today, I have hopes of breathing in some fresh air. The temps will be in the 60s. Walking Weather! Clean off the Porch Weather. Clean out the automobile Weather.
I'll have a HELPER. My Grand daughter will be my side kick. Lil Miss is full of LIFE. God knew what He was doing to this old Lady. I have to keep in motion when taking care of a young child. AND in motion I am. Whew...take a deep breath. Sip some coffee. Let the sun shine.
PSALM 16:1
PRESERVE me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
God bless and shine on,

A Rose By Any Other Name
~Remembering Valentines ~
Sweet Memories in the making.
A rose by any other name would not smell as sweet.
A rose given to me by any other Valentine would not be as sweet.....including the chocolates.
My Husband presented me a beautiful White Rose with Baby's Breath surrounded with Hersey Kisses, A Box of Chocolates and lovely Card.
Nothing quite like a white rose.
February is the LOVE MONTH.

Decorating On The Prairie: Waiting For A Kitchen Redo
Welcome to my mess!
Some things you'll find in my Kitchen. Still want order.
While I wait for a complete Kitchen REDO.......IN THE MEAN TIME
I'm thankful we have these sturdy metal shelves. IN THE MEAN TIME.
Does in the mean time actually mean one is in a mean way? Somedays are harder to take than others. So in the MEAN TIME...I'm waiting for a Kitchen that takes on the appearance of a kitchen and not a warehouse.
The Metal Racks will be recycled back into Home Haven elsewhere. Either in the Garage or Basement. That'll be nice.
I feel better when my Kitchen shelves are in order and the inside of my fridge is clean and orderly. Just one of those things.

H2O
Did you drink your water today???
I'm working at drinking my 8 cups a day.
I'm terrible at this.
I'm terrible at this.
Sometimes I think this is too much water for people and overworks the kidneys.
Once I told a friend that I doubted that Jesus drank so much water in one day.
She laughed, but I was serious.
Years ago when I was 42,
I stopped drinking soda and tea.
Hadn't started drinking coffee yet.
After detoxing, water never tastes so refreshing.
May you have a wonderful week-end!
I'm so hoping to completely clean the utility room top to bottom.
Have to see if my sewing machine still works.
May have to service this.
Spring is getting closer by the minute. PTL.
God bless you and shine on,

Granny Nanny Chronicles
Just like the t-shirt says, she is a BUSY CHILD.
She stepped into her Grandpa's BOOTS and did a twirl.
Not so easy to walk in when they are too big for her feet.
Sometimes when we try to walk in another person's shoes (boots) they really don't fit.
Gotta go barefoot!
On the wrong foot.
She enjoyed walking and dancing
in her GRAND Daddies Boots.
Enjoying LIFE at Home Haven.
God richly bless you and walk right along with you
through Life's Challenges.

Home Happenings
Hello BELOVED Blogging Friends.
Can it be Wednesday already? Thankful it's mid-week. Today the grey sky is suppose to weep down showers of snow and rain mix. We did get some snow late Sunday night after we got home from a week-end in Saint Louis to celebrate a Grandson's 2nd Birthday.
It's a slow paced Wednesday. Been working on paperwork, bills and correspondences. Had LEFT OVER Spaghetti for Lunch. Love it.
Using hubby's defunct computer while the better one is needing some repairs. Till then I'm struggling along with this one that does this if you don't constantly hold the Fn key down.......abcdefgh51230n6*.
That's abcdefghijklmnop. My index finger gets tired, but that doesn't stop me from blogging or typing one handed. Got talent. Grins.
Pics posted soon of week-end birthday.
Pleasant trip there and home again.
Hopefully, my pics will get down loaded tonight.
Rested on Monday....played in snow with Lil Miss. Snow Ball Fight. Giggles and Grins. Had Fun.
Yesterday, Lil Miss went to a Valentine's Outting.
Afterwards we ate Lunch with my Hubby.
Did some shopping. A little more shopping. Then shopped again.
By evening I was zonked and down in the back, but had a PLEASANT VALENTINE's DAY.
Sorry to say that my Sister's Mother-in-law died on Valentine's Day. Sad.
Better run......gotta get my hair washed before this afternoon gets away from me. Towels to fold and put away. Where's my MAID? She went into hiding and i sure need her extra arms.
Life can be short.
Eat some chocolate for me and call it good.
God Bless,
d

DECORATING
I knew a very frugal Lady named Edith that shared with me a excellent guideline for decorating. She said with ease, "If your room has clean ceilings, floors, and walls, and the windows have nice curtains, you'll have an attractive room."
John 3:7
“Marvel not that I said unto thee,
Ye must be born again.”
King James Version (KJV)
PSALM 118:17
I shall not die,
but live, and declare
the works of the Lord.
PROVERBS 24:3-4
By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding
it is established;
through
knowledge
its rooms are filled with rare
and beautiful treasures.

FUN FACTS FOR CHANDYS
SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE CHANDY TO USE IN A ROOM MADE EASY. FORMULA MEASUREMENTS: Measure the room's height and width. Add together the numbers. Example: 8' x 10' room is 8 plus 10= 18" Use a 18" wide chandy. OR Take width of room calculating 2" for every foot. Example: 15' wide room. Take 15 times 2 = 30. Room needs 30" wide chandy. Standard distance between the bottom of the chandelier to the top of the table is 30 inches. When hanging the chandelier, make sure to hang it at the proper height. The bottom of a chandelier over a dining table or kitchen island should hang 30 to 32 inches above the top of the table or island. Most rooms call for at least 7 feet of space between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor.

WISHES
NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH with all your might that the something devastating that happened in your life hadn't happened and want so badly to go back in time to prevent it from happening...it isn't humanly possible to do this. You can't change the fact that it happened. IT DID. But JESUS can change the MEANING of what happened to you and give you PEACE. He can show you the way in which you are to go. God richly BLESS you. ~Deanna
